    Are you still with Modus? This was a great video. Biggest obstacle is there is a movement to have ServiceNow for business entry from demand module and have it ingested into JIRA. Incident and Request modules from ServiceNow do not offer this. Also JIRA dashboards aren't the best given limitations and out of box. Ideally JIRA dashboards work, but what is preferred route when conforming to previous business operations. Would love to hear your thoughts. B

    How do I create the dashboard to show results only for my data and not the entire organization?

    • @joshkochelek9691
      @joshkochelek9691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To do this, you'll need to configure the gadgets to only the the data you are looking for. This can be done by creating filters in Jira, which I cover breifly in the video. You can find more information on filters here: support.atlassian.com/jira-work-management/docs/save-your-search-as-a-filter/

    Hey I was wondering if it is possible to pre load labels into Jira? My company is going through an agile transformation and we want to make it easy for our team select labels and eliminate confusion.

    • @joshkochelek9691
      @joshkochelek9691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to control the list of options for people, than I would suggest building one or more custom select list fields (either single or mutli-select) -- Labels are better for more informal tagging of issues.

  • @omkarborle3063
    @omkarborle3063 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Amazing! I'm first time user of Jira this helps. One of the things we want to do is - assign time (in terms of hours) for each story. Currently, i am using trello and then I assign story points which are equal to the hours the team member has to complete the task within. Then I count all the story points in each project and daily count how many story points = hours worth of work we have completed and how much more to go.. how can I achieve that here?

    • @joshkochelek9691
      @joshkochelek9691 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jira has the built-in functionality of estimating time for Stories, which can be viewed as hours or story points. However, you may need to make some configuration changes to your project or your Agile board for the points to display. Here's some introductory information on how to setup estimation: support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-estimation-and-tracking/
      Thanks for the question!! Let me know if we can help any further.

    is there any gadget that shows you a release or version view ???? or how can I get a view to watch over the complete project no only to a specific sprint?

    • @joshkochelek9691
      @joshkochelek9691 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's an interesting question! What type of information are you looking to see across a release or version? There is one built-in gadget, called 'Version Report' that shows a projected release date.

  • @bspremchand
    @bspremchand 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is there any gadget to capture the story points in a sprint for a particular assignee? Can we customize the same if not available?

    • @joshkochelek9691
      @joshkochelek9691 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, Prem! You can show issue count using the "Two Dimensional Filter Statistic" and set the X-Axis to Sprint and Y-Axis to Assignee. If you'd like to see story point information summarized in a table, there are options to create a table like this, but it depends on your setup. Are you using Cloud, Server, or Data Center? Also, are you using Confluence?

    • @bspremchand
      @bspremchand 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joshkochelek9691 Thanks Josh for the quick response. We are on server. Regarding the two dimensional filter, i had done this, but this captures the issues(user story) count, instead i need "Story points" for particular assignee. Looking forward.

    • @joshkochelek9691
      @joshkochelek9691 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bspremchand Correct, Story Points are not available as an option for the built-in statistics gadgets. To create a solution for this on Server, you'll need to call for backup. :) There are some work arounds and manual options, but for a polished solution, I'd suggest considering a reporting plugin for Jira.
      There are a number of reporting plugins for Jira that would help create reports like this. A list can be found here: marketplace.atlassian.com/search?category=Reports&product=jira
      Hope that helps! If that's not possible, there are some solutions you can build, but will take a little handy work.

    How about dashboard for Kanban boards?

  • @stedmanhines8860
    @stedmanhines8860 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you copy a dashboard in JIRA from another project, when you go in and change the filter to reflect the filter you created for your project, does it affect the original project?

    • @joshkochelek9691
      @joshkochelek9691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I understand your question correctly, yes that would impact the original project. If you want you use the same dashboard gadgets and layouts, but with different information , you'll want to copy the dashboard but replace the filters for each gadget with different filters, scoped to the purpose of the new dashboard. Hope this helps!
