May i please make a suggestion... try using the stereo sound field to make space... in other words pan stuff... keep your voice and guitar center but spead out the cellos. Just a suggestion. Your voice is beautiful.

that's what I thought too, songs like dream a little dream of me, it's a lovely day today, rainbow connection suits her voice so much. i am so glad i discovered her music today, i am such an old head and finding out there are still people who have this certain talent that when you listen to them they take you back to a different time is just surreal!

I also try my hand at amateur videos so I know how complex it is to do, but if I can allow myself a piece of advice, you should significantly lower the sound of the cellos, because at one point we no longer hear your sound well voice.
This is not a criticism, but just an avenue for improvement 😉

I see it's been 5 months, so I'm late to the fan club here, but I agree! You have a beautiful voice and style, and musically, you are clearly an 'old soul'! Though you should never let it be overpowered. During the verse, the background should quietly harmonize with & compliment your voice - the main instrument that captures our attention & we all want to hear. The instrumentation volume increased only for the chorus and maybe a bridge - but always to accentuate your voice. Your talent is clearly multi-faceted, but your voice, style & interpretation should be the focus, so people can hear and get to know you. Keep at it - I'd love to see you in concert some day!

The dirtiest insult in all of art or music is "contrived". Laufey has the most natural, un-contrived delivery I've seen in many years. True and admirable talent.
if you listen to it really closely then you will hear how conscious she is when singing/playing the instruments. it is artistically contrived, but bcuz she has a strong musicality, she can make it sounds natural.
