One piece of advice I have is to buy something that you know you wear every day regardless of the circumstance, then buy a couple more in different colours or a similar style. As much as variety is good, it will be a waste if you don’t use it

I’d have to say, at least one luxury regret I had was getting myself a Birkin. I bought one in the pre-loved market, a simple black 25 Togo with ghw and as beautiful as she was, I used her once when I wasn’t with my babies and that was it. For my lifestyle, the Birkin isn’t practical since I prefer a bag with a shoulder strap or crossbody. Definitely a Kelly girl instead of Birkin. So, I sold my Birkin on and I don’t have any regrets.
This is why I am back and forth. I want it but I'll be a new mommy and don't know when I will use it. Have my evelyne tpm and think that's is more practical and debating on now a second one in a different color or picotin
Hello there! For how I see it, Birkins are travel bags and nothing more. Even in that case, to be used consciously, as they're pretty heavy for a travel bag...
I really love these kind of videos. You guys spend a ton of money and then tell us the cons,and give us alternatives at a fraction of the cost😂 Really helped us to save our money without splashing on these ridiculous luxury pieces. Thank you! Funny thing is we all know luxury shoes will never be as comfortable as non luxury proper shoe makers and yet people still buy for the logo😅
The thing with flat sandals like the orans and vivaias is that no matter how expensive, they just look like house slippers. You can only go out to a summer resort with it, otherwise, you ruin your whole outfit when you go out to the mall wearing house slippers. At all times, I prefer any open-toed sandals with heels when going out. 😊

I have got a big collection of luxury goods and one big thing I have learned after many years is: only buy what you use tomorrow and avoid to buy what you don’t know when you can use it, even it is an icon item which is called timeless. I have not used Chanel classic flap bags or Lady Dior for long time because they are not practical. But I am so happy with other seasonal products like tote bags, bucket bags or wallet on chains…😊
Never wasted money on designer costume jewelry. Love fine jewelry. I have lots of antique and vintage pieces and I wear them one or 2 pieces at a time.
Second the sneakers, I have bunions and bought the white pair last year and they're my favorite trainers. I have 2 colors now. Thanks for the code Mel, just bought the Kara sandals they will be perfect for my wide feet. My biggest regret is designer costume jewelry, spent a fortune on them and won't buy them anymore! That Fendi strap cost more than my rent 😅 omg that’s crazy I just sold my LV toiletry 19 and I’m so happy I did. Never used it besides for display and that’s just a waste to keep things that aren’t being used and loved 💗
I bought the Vivaia ankle boots and margots flats after watching your last video and live in them! I think I need those sneakers now as I regret my Alexander McQueen ones. They are hot to look at but terrible for comfort that's a big regret. Love these honest videos Mel, tfs! ❤
Hi Mel! Another great video. I'm usually very careful about my purchases, so don't have many regrets, but.....I did purchase a pair of gorgeous Veronica Beard Alek clogs that I truly regret. Cannot walk in them because they're a 5.5 inch platform heel. I love clogs, but my 4 to 5 inch heel days are long past 😂
My regret is spending money on basic black and nude pumps for that "just in case" situation, ie. Interviews, meetings, events. Yeah, no. I can dress nice without wearing heels. A pair of classic flats are just as good. 😅 Lesson learnt. Now I have to find a place to donate them, maybe.

As always your videos are so informative. it’s made me re-evaluate what I wear these days. I used to be mad about my Classic double flaps but prefer something more plain / sedate now. They can be quite dressy no matter how classic your outfit is… So if I want a very minimalist look I don’t opt for the classic flap bags. X

I had a big luxury purchase. I bought a Burberry check shirt, I've only worn it once and then I carefully folded it back up in the beautiful Burberry box it came in and put it back on my shelf. It was a huge regret for me. 😢

I love the video. My luxury bag regret is the LV Neverfull DA MM. You can’t zip the bag so all of your contents are visible, when carrying it on your shoulders the leather straps dig in and finally color transfer ! Not my best purchase 😊

To me, designer sneakers are a complete waste of money. I wear what Princess Kate wears (which makes me feel cool and modern). Nike, Asics, Superga, New Balance. Get your comfort from s athletic shoe or walking shoe. Dior, Hermes....they don't cut it! 👎
Well said- I do have balenciaga triple s and it’s kind of a heavy that it’s not comfy- go for superGa if it’s not too much, Golden goose is also a candidate for comfort and style. 😊

I love the video. My luxury bag regret is the LV Neverfull DA MM. You can’t zip the bag so all of your contents are visible, when carrying it on your shoulders the leather straps dig in and finally color transfer ! Not my best purchase 😊

Umm I try to buy more unique bags of luxe brands you don’t see people have as much, turns out I don’t love them as much too , like my Prada Saffion bag. I wish I didn’t at least get the one with a chain strap since would prefer a more subtle look.

To me, designer sneakers are a complete waste of money. I wear what Princess Kate wears (which makes me feel cool and modern). Nike, Asics, Superga, New Balance. Get your comfort from s athletic shoe or walking shoe. Dior, Hermes....they don't cut it! 👎

@maricielgalicia ended up with evelyne tpm because of the everyday use and cross body. Fits less items, but for everyday use, I like the ease of it. Next purchase might be the picotin.
