Unbelievable stuff - like always! THE BEST FLY FISHING channel on YT!
Thank u for the kind words!
Made my day watching you in beautiful Wyoming and catching so many healthy fish. One of your best videos. Thank you.
Such a pleasure vicariously joining you, Drew! Thanks for including us! This video showed such a diversity of water types...it's so much fun having you target spots that look fishy and then to have you confirm it by hooking up! Super!
Awesome stuff !
High Quality ! Loved it
It’s always tough watching someone live out your dreams.
really nice fishing and video.
That sky at the start, fantastic.
These beautiful natural scenes and landscapes are really worthy of thanks to Dro 🙏🏻💯
Great video footage. Thanks for sharing! Best, Bill
Heck yeah! Glad to see you back in action, Drew! I can't wait to go try this myself! 😃
Dream stream. And old school PBR!
Never leave home without it lol!
Thanks Drew for a whole summer of watching you doing what I'd love to be doing more often. You're original hopper pattern has been the best one I've ever fished. Looking forward to more of your vids.
Great videos of awesome fishing. Thanks for sharing with us Drew!!
Another great video, thanks! Tight lines🐟
Ah, PBR after a good day on the stream. Doesn't get much better. Thanks Drew.
😂you might need to venture out more😂
We will be in Wyoming next week. Such an amazing place to fish
Amazing Drew!!! Can’t wait for Spring!! Keep it up!!!
Great stuff Drew. Beautiful country and water. And great video as always.
Glad you enjoyed it
You are one lucky guy to fish places like that
Fabulous as usual Drew!
Thought you had retired that net! Spectacular h2o. M2
He's gonna keep that thing alive, it's for good measure and a relic now, almost the status of a divine old trusted friend to tag along . Haha!
Never! It's the first net I ever bought and reminds me of the day I decided to really get into fly fishing and all I could afford was a tfo pro series II (to replace my cabelas starter kit rod) and a $35 bass pro whiteriver net.
It takes years to collect all the experiences you’ve had. I did I’d for years stealheading but movie cameras weighed way too much to cart around. From all of your viewer, thank you Drew for letting us to go along without getting our feet wet.
PBR. You’re in Wyoming and you are drinking PBR……….
You’re older than I thought you were. It’s a valid reason.
Keep living the dream. Those who understand it appreciate every minute you film. Thanks
Haha...I definitely feel old. I did pick up some local craft but it was on the way to another area!
Hey Drew, just curious, do you pack heat all the time or just in certain areas?
A wonderful trip and great fishing!!!
Thanks for a great video!!
🐈⬛🐾🐈🐾👍👏👏👏🍻
Thank you 👍
Amazing fishing😂
Wild but beautiful nature. It's surprising trouts live in such narrow creeks.
Old “tiny hands Drew” is at it again! 😂.
Great content as always!
Great creek! We fish it every July!!
Wyoming has and always will be a flyfishers paradise, I'm from there and when in the state you can find me on the nonya river as well as the upper cracker barrel and west tokyo!
Some real lumps Drew, chunky, healthy looking fish!
Great streams, great fishing footage, no music! Best fly fishing videos on YT your cooking over the years has definitely gotten better!PBR on the first night. 😂 awesome
Gotta love Wyoming huh ? Lol 😉
Definitely!
Great video...here in so colorado the Freestone were chocolate shakes too for weeks because of late monsoons...looks like you found a really nice spot...goes to say there are more than one "dream stream"...
Look like you might need a few more zip ties
Haha...I definitely do and a new new would be nice. That one is so patched up with 1x...it's a wonder it hasn't fallen apart yet!
Man O' Man, that's a amazing drive. Made some great memories chasseing fish tails in that water. Several miles to the east down stream, the lower canyon area kicked my butt, and to find out, the water temp was too, followed by a torrential thunderstorm climbing back out, great experience regardless and absolutely stunning wild virgin county. I spent 7 days in that exact region , same streams in August. I sware we gotta be eating each others trail dust, ha! Keep on keeping Drew, release and remember friend!
And what stream are you talking about?
I definitely gotta get back and explore more of those dirt roads and hopefully find some more fishy spots!
Good video, one pro tip to people thinking of getting a canopy on back of truck. If you're tall, don't get a king cab truck so you can get a longer bed to fit a sleep bed in back and get the raised canopy, not the cab high. The head room will make up for the non sleek look of a cab high canopy. I figured it out after my 3rd truck and canopy. I'm 6'3" and fit in my 6'6" truck bed
I know exactly where you are fishing. Previous videos in the general area and now this one. I've fished literally every creek on the east side, central valley and west side over the last 16 years, but I was there usually in August. I've always wondered what it would be like to fish there in September or October.... It is cool seeing these creeks again and recognizing pools, bends, and riffles as you go upstream.... (FOASTWRN) Fishing on a Stream that will Nameless.....
Same here as you, I need to do Sep. Next year!
I hope I'm fortunate enough to say that one day!
Nice video and fish drew, the best thing I saw in your trip was water, around these parts fishing is real tough, the streams are super low, no rain in about two months. I still give it my best shot though. Enjoyed watching. 👍
Yea, I've been talking to several people all over and everyone says the same thing, we need water!
Another great video! I took a "Drew inspired" 2 week WY/ID trip in Sept. My WY route was planned around the Wyoming Game & Fish sponsored Cutt-Slam which is a great program (certificate they send once you complete it is super cool). One thing that program does is educate you on the different cutthroat in WY. Stream 2 was definitely Bonneville, but I wasn't sure about stream 1 as they looked like a mixture of CO (?) and Snake River cutthroat.
That is awesome! Nothing really compares to being out there for an extended time. Really does the soul good!
I have watched a lot of your videos. this one in particular, reminds me of Dick Proenneke, the "Alone in the Wilderness" guy. Great shots, narration and just documenting your days ON THE RIVER AND YOUR TRAVELS, only with a GO Pro journal. GREAT JOB, KEEP GOING.........THANKS
Very interesting Fishing today. [Sure beats the heck out of tracking down bad-guys huh?]
Hey drew, great vid, a perdigon tying tutorial would be awesome
boy...some of those were lunkers!
Great places. Just curious do you ever eat a fish?
I fished both those first two in July. Lots of water then, glad to see it still strong into September. Didn’t expect a brown tho! I’ll definitely give September a try next year. Hope to see you on the water and crack a Peeber with ya!
Oh I've fished Wyoming some the trout fishing ever
Nice weather ... solitude ... hungry wild trout. Heaven on earth. What were daytime temps up there?
65ish...those 40f temperature swings are rough for sleeping but great for fishing lol!
Would like to see a video on how you chose your vehicle and how it's outfitted for your trips. Maybe what to buy and what to avoid.
I've thought about it but until then...I broke it down into midsized for mpg and trail ability. Had to be off road for obvious reasons. And comfortable to drive on long road trips. A 6ft bed was required. The 6ft bed was the deal breaker for everything but chevy. Almost impossible to get anything with a 6ft bed...especially on a lot. It was crazy...my colorado extended cab (6ft bed) zr2 showed up 35 miles away and 2 months before I was scheduled to do a 9 week overlanding trip out west.
I know exactly where you are.. mid September is a great time of year. Hear any elk bugling?
I can smell the sage.
Bear country?
Is that a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer? My favorite while fishing since ya can'y get a fresh draft on a stream 😉
Ahh- Pabst "Blue ribbon trout stream" beer - I bet you could of caught a lunker out of the trunk of that old station wagon!
have you fished the white river ? if so, even this late in the year? thanks
This is the best entertainment Drew. Keep up the vids. QUESTION..in order to see the fish in the river, what sun glasses do you wear. I have trouble seeing the fish. Thanks Drew.
Are you using a 5wt or less wt rod? I hope to fish a location called Butte Creek in the Yellowstone, once I figure where it is. Thanks for your video much fun.
What’s your main tapered leader size for your hopper and tippet size for your dropper? Need some advice man.
This is highly dependent on the river, size of fish, flows and how spooky they are. Generally in WY you can size up to 3x to your bottom fly. 7.5' leaders work well for hopper/dropper setups.
It varies so much from stream to stream and situation to situation. I try to talk about it at the end of each video. At the end if this one I was fishing 4x to my hopper and 4x to my dropper.
What creeks are these? Looking to take my son up to WYo from CO but having trouble finding spots
What’s your opinion on Triploid trout ?
I like to catch em!
That first fish. Pretty unbelievable. With those clear waters.
And at last you have a reasonable car although it is not a range rover) . 😉
They say there's not much point in putting them back if you hold them one handed.
PBR!!!
Could show a frame of your dropper and fly?
Thanks👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻
Did a full video on the ones I use...all are in this series...th-cam.com/video/9PeuxbDVuDc/w-d-xo.html
Do you guide any in Arkansas?
How many miles on your rig now, Drew?
~32k in 20 months...and every single one is from a fishing trip!
I think you should do a give away and it should be one waypoint lol
What mattress do you use? Looks comfortable.
6 inch memory foam I got off Amazon. It's comfortable but I might replace it with a 4 inch and maybe get a little more head room in my chevy colorado
Really surprised to see a brown jump like that … thought for sure it was a rainbow.
That fish at 36:22 looked like it may have been a Tiger Trout.
Nope, just a Brown. No vermiculation markings along the dorsal.
Is Wyoming your favorite state to fish? the access and solitude make it seem like the perfect zone. Thoughts?
I don't have any favorites. Each has its own unique flavor which is so different from Arkansas.
You have your Big North Platte and Green River which are always great then the Creeks just everywhere, Sheridan has many small places to go, and west of Sheridan, and around Yellowstone outside of Yellowstone are all great, the whole state is great, with Big and small fish and best thing of all Not many people...
@@1Troutguy Yeah... that's definitely the best part of the state, the lack of people. It is incredibly rare for me to see people out on the streams/rivers. The main downside is that I don't have many larger rivers around me, lander area, only the wind river which is primarily on the reservation, that area is on a whole different plane of solitude. 20,000 people in an area the size of Delaware, with thousands of miles of water, absolutely amazing.
How often do you encounter bears or other animal threats?
I live in Nw Wyoming. I fish and grouse hunt in backcountry. I see bear sign all the time. I carry a 10 mm and know how to use it. Count on a close encounter at some point.
I'd be eating a few of those trout instead of sausage
Red or yellow humpy and forget it.
Did you hear the moose?
Your first fish, honestly I would have not thrown in there, I thought there would be no fish in that shallow clear spot, I know now to at least try a spot.
Dude, bears man, they're bad in the fall. By yourself, smelling of fish....
Do you not like to eat Trout???????
Try leaving the fish alone. We don't want to see the fish.😊
worst placing camera for watching a video, can´t see shaking pictures
Trying to catch fish with an audience can be nerve racking.
Curious dudes for sure!
A bear will eventually come for you.
Wyoming fishing is horrible due to it's stream access laws. Fished there once, never again. MT is exceptionally better from all aspects.
What kind of underwear do you wear??
🤫
The dude touting "pactistaff" should loose weight and get healthy rather then BS-ing us to buy the walking stick
Beautiful stream, country....but please take some fly-casting lessons! It looks like you're whipping a team of stubborn horses.
As Norman MaClean wrote in A River Runs Through It, it's a '10:00 to 2:00 o'clock motion in a four-count rhythm'. I'm only seeing two counts in your casts.
Not trying to be snide. Take it or leave it.
I sure hope you're joking.
Some true lunkers in here!!!
Does the second streams name start with h lol please fish other places 😂😂😂
