- This brand new card from Universes Beyond Assassin's Creed is another card that you can put any number of in your decks. This time white is getting its first version of this effect, and this one calls back to cards like Shadowborn Apostle in its library searching effect. The card Templar Knight is a really interesting card that I'm excited to see decks built around.

It’s finally here. Now I can make a WUBRG deck with ten each of the “you can have any number” cards. It’ll be completely terrible with no synergy but it’ll be hilarious.
It'd be amazing :D
make it a commander deck and add the 7 dwarfs and the nazguls
YES DUDE
I have a few janky WUBRG decks thay just want to have compleat cycles of things lol.
My favorites have been all the praetor cards cheated in with realmbreaker, all the leylines, and all the (color) sun’s zenith/twilight.
I can't believe we're already hyping up the next set
Magic is kinda falling apart at the seams as they struggle to tell hasbro to shut up.
We JUST had MH3 and right before that was OTJ
@@elephoontoftheshanpes8103 It's non-stop, I came back because of Fallout, I've already bought FO, OTJ, MH3 I'm burnt out (in 3 yrs the game will be powercreeped into oblivion)
I'm not interested at all in the assassin's creed set. That could be because I'm just not an assassin's creed fan but it's mostly because I'm not even close to being done with mh3. The gift bundle isn't even out yet!
It's barely a set (like, 50 new card), but yeah, it's wild. May, June, July, new releases every 4 weeks 🤣
I was thinking of a Boros Dragon's Approach deck commanded by Ken, Burning Brawler. This'd fit nicely in there.
I have a boros dragons approach deck with firesong and sunspeaker. Its so fun
Sadly that single card will be around 2 to 3 $ each ;-;
p....roxy
That's optimistic, I wouldn't be surprised if they hit 8+ considering how much the Nazgul cost right now
@@nikosantos1172I don’t really see why proxying a 1-2 dollar card. At that point it’s roughly equal to buying it.
@@DarkinBladeGamingyeah but Nazgul has a stacking effect the more of them you have, so does Relentless Rats. Persistent Petitioners is easier to trigger since it only requires advisors, not the actual card, only needs 4 instead of 5 and doesn't need to be attacking to trigger. It's the toughest build around of any of the cards that break card limits, I'd imagine the only thing that might make it expensive is potential scarcity but I'm not really expecting it.
@@Fentonians0 dollars times 20 is a whole lot less than 2 times 20
Finally broke thrumming stone. Thank god
What a fucking stupid comment, lol
Slimes against humanity does an amazing job breaking it.
My sba deck has done that for years lol
I wanna throw Tori D'Avenant, Fury Rider as a pretty good commander to get an additional trigger off the same set of Templar Knights, tutor for a Helm of the Host and it becomes a question of having the Mana for the knights than anything else
Gonna run this and shadowborn apostles in an athreos deck eventually
Parahelion II is a great choice too
Bro, the price for Crusade is going to go up!
I think they acc changed the word Crusade in this set so it’s not on any cards because it’s considered a racist moment in history, which honestly I think is pretty fuckin dumb
@@C1umsyJester super dumb.... but this is also from the same company that discontinued use of the term "tribal" for a similar reason and were seriously going to call it "typal" instead until it became clear that literally everybody thought typal sounded so mind-numbingly stupid that they had to backpedal and call it "kindred"
And everyone I know still just calls it tribal anyways because it was a stupid pointless change to begin with.
@@ilikeapples1you sound exactly the same as the people who would be mad at terms like tribal and the cars crusade. Stop being a snowflake and deal with it.
@@C1umsyJester worst thing is too. If it wasn't for the Crusades. Their ideology wouldn't exist
Lets go the cycle has been finished
I'm building this too but "Katilda, Dawnhart Prime" is the commander. Tons of card draw since all my templars will be tapping for mana
So the main commanders I’ve been eyeing for this are Iroas, Sylvia/Khorvath, and Tori D’Avenant. Iroas and Khorvath allow you to swing without worry of dying to blocks. Tori lets you untap and use the Knights a second time within the same swing
It could also go with Urza.lord protector to get the might stone and weak stone.
Crusade reprint here we come!
“Crusade is racist and offensive, unlike the Knights of Templar. Put as many of those in a deck as you like.” -WoTC
Please explain how Crusade is racist. @GigaLordShinyMudkip1
If you're running white red you can use the guy with "equipped creatures get +2/0 for each equipment on them" and "the first equip you activate per turn is 0"
And then use that +10/+10 hammer that removes flying
Bruenor Battlehammer
If you grab a way to untap them, you can use the ability multiple times.
Kyler, it gives access to Crater hoof. Templar knights bring in planar bridge. bridge brings in Hoof. Bobs your uncle.
I’ve been saying it ever since slime against humanity came out that we’re getting a white one soon
Now you're talking! Of course, for the Templar Knight, I say "Simon Says"!
Thrumming stone being a legendary artifact
So this is fine for them to print, but Crusade is "Offensive"
Just made a deck with sharuum the hegemon as the commander so I can get those artifacts back from my graveyard and even shuffle my commander into the deck and go get him using the ability to avoid the high commander cost
the syr gwyn idea is uncomfortably tempting
Akroma's memorial is a good choice
Rick steadfast leader could be cool!
The actual historic lore is beautiful though
Winnota, have brunch of human put into the board then snowbaling fast and out of control perhaps
Aurelia could give you multiple combat and potentially multiple activations
My god, it's Arcum Daggson at home, but white and in the 99...
All i'm saying is, if you can get Encroaching Mycosynth out, you can basically throw any one legendary non land card from your deck onto the field each turn.
Yo you said 2 1. It's a 3 1.
Does each color have units like this yet? The "any number of" cards, that is? Cuz I might get into commander more seriously if I can find a consistent basis like this for a 5 color basis
Yup!
Green - Slime Against Humanity
Blue - Persistent Petitioners
Red - Dragon's Approach
Black - Relentless Rats, Pack Rats, Shadowborn Apostle
And now white gets these knights!
@Jules-mm7ki even though they're not "any number" Nazgûl and Seven Dwarves are some other multi copy option
@@treyroberts8124 Right. I always forget about those guys
Horn of Gondor would be solid too
Blightsteel Colossus enablers or can get Eldrazi.
As uncommon it’s gonna be pricey. Will work well with darksteel forge or thrumming stone
Edit: how is darksteel forge not legendary
Hear me out, surgical extraction target it on yourself and have like 50-60 cards left in deck. Ultimate deck thinning, then that one enchantment that can pull all the basic plains out and have 40 or less cards left.
Satya from MH3 its cool... ^^
That one may work in modern
Im gonna use kenrith for a knight theme
Rick grimes deck upcoming
Damnit I need to get a box of this
Going to have instant speed untap shenanigans. Keep tutoring before damage.
Printed at uncommon, gg
I find it silly people are complaining this will be legal but not Crusade. Guys Templars are a thing in Warhammer too.
This is actually great. It's so generic that it could fit almost any plane. Universes Within functionality.
*cries in coat of arms*
wait wait wait... do i see correctly? its UNCOMMON? this shit gonna be expensive AF, gj wizards, another silent cash grab
I believe the set doesn’t have commons like Aftermath.
@@laurentrobitaille2204there are commons
Gandalf the White
Oh thats cool
Bro not even mentioning horn of gondor
You forgot Oswald
Winota?
Realistically how many to run, has to be more than 5
Depends on the level of consistency required. Lets say you want to pull at least 5 every game by turn 5 which is almost the same level of consistency you would expect of land cards. That means that if you want to do this in every game you would need 35 to 37 of them to be vert consistent.
@@markhunter3533 Yeah prob not going to do that in a Gwyn deck
@@DraphEnjoyer exactly, I think it is clear that any 5 card combo that doesn't win the game might not be worth it, especialy if you need those 5 attacking
Winotta templr deck
I thought commander you can only run 1s so how would you run 5?
the card itself lets you run however many you want with that last line of text
Reading the card explains the card
It had to say attacking
Why not blightsteel colossus
Has to be a legendary artifact
@@robertcarsten4050 that makes sense
Horn of gondor
All I’m thinking about is cheating in Elbrus for my big boy Withengar
When they're not spreading the good word and raiding treasures, they chase after the creed of assasins
.. lol
Any number? So I can run 101 of them?
In modern, sure
Mmm, thrumming stone
Don't mind me.I'm just going to cheat out A blight steel colossus
That was my first thought but he isn't legendary.
I just realized this and couldnt find this comment to edit i felt so dumb xD
Why do they always make these cards uncommon?
Eowyn isn't black
Bolas citadel anyone?
Nah, Horn of Gondor and Horn of the Mark.
Halo fountain? Anyone?
All I hear is elesh norn
She's good in general but not an artifact, so she can't be searched for
....mono white storm....
Time to cheat out portal to phyrexia
Bro can we have a break from new releases?
Do Chulane + Thrumming 🤢
Only playable in commander? Are you high?
Are you high? That’s not what was said.
@@tyrusconleyhe said its only likely to see play in commander meaning he thinks it will only be playable in commander. Yeah, I stand by what I said. I mean, did you even watch the short?
@@benjaminberkey2920 yes I did. And “only likely to see play in commander” is different from “only playable in commander.”
@@tyrusconleyyou're being pedantic and taking it too literal and you know damn well that is what he meant, he just worded it differently. He literally thinks it will only be played in commander.
@@benjaminberkey2920 yes, I do know what he meant. It seems that you don’t though. I’m not being pedantic or taking it too literally. You’re conflating his words with a stronger position that he didn’t take. He literally thinks it will likely only see play in commander, not that it for sure will only be played in commander. Things are not in absolutes like you’re trying to make it.
🥰🤤
Too bad they’ll put one of these “common” cards in every 25 packs.
Do you mean uncommon?
@@tyrusconley yeah. Hard to tell with the thin set symbol.
Uncommon from a random IP set. Yeah I’m suuuuuure it won’t be a 5$ uncommon. 😂 Not spending 200$ on a niche for a sub par commander deck.
Lol it's a 3/1
2/1
Gary was robbed
Deck seems too linear
Lara croft?
To bad it's bad XD
I hate this card
