"Motti tactics" = "Motti is Finnish military slang for a totally encircled enemy unit. They are unique in retaining their independence yet fighting three wars with the Soviets. I worked in Finland in the early 2000s and learnt the language which is fun! Only fourteen cases for nouns and very little help from other languages with their vocabulary. So going in I had a different expectation that it would be from a Finnish perspective as the Soviet Union in a pact with Hitler at the time was not an ally.
Three? I'm Finnish and know only about two wars (Continuation and Winter war) since the Lapland war was against the Germans and Civil war was against Finnish communist minded people.
