I’m 2.5 months after surgery and I can only bend it at 30% ☹️ Starting physical therapy next week. I can do all those exercises except the heel slide. It’s very tight.

I am in the exact same recovery time as you. Follow up physio here in the UK is delayed so I’m having to pick bits of advice wherever I can. I’m itching to get back to some normal routine.

I broke my right patella 4 weeks ago. Surgery was performed 1 week later. I have found your videos to be very informative and helpful. I also appreciate your positive mindset. Thank you for taking the time to make these.

Dwight ~ Looks like l broke mine 2 weeks after you. Hope you're getting better! l _SeeeMASHED_ my right patella and its been 4 weeks post op. l've started doing light knee bends and l hope its not too soon. l'm wondering if the physio is as painful as some other women on YT have said it is. Are you having any trouble with that? Thanks ~ Vancouver BC

I am going to have patella surgery in two days. I found your video very helpful and encouraging. Your progress is very impressive. Do you need to remove the screws? Your injury was four years ago.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm also 70 years old and fractured my patella 2 days ago. I hate being incapacitated and willing to do the hard stuff. It made me feel better with your explanation and the fact that you can drive 8 weeks later.

    Hi Brett,
Thanks for your videos. Stumbled across them after I fractured my patella. My surgery is tomorrow, and your videos are helping me understand more of what to expect post-op, which is certainly reducing my overall anxiety. Now I'm just hoping that my recovery goes as smoothly as yours!

      Hi Nizar
Recovery is going pretty well so far. Surgery went well, and I started PT a week later with very basic exercises (and only 25 degrees range of motion). But the knee was mostly immobilized until last week, when I had my 2nd scheduled follow-up with the surgeon. He said the x-rays look good -- hardware is where it should be, bone looks like it is healing, etc.
So the past week I have been working on strengthening my quad muscle (doing quad lifts, etc) and bending the knee more. I am now at around 50-55 degrees ROM, improving 1-2 degrees each day. I feel some twinges of pain occasionally, but for the most part things are starting to feel more normal.
I hope you are recovering too. I think everyone's progress is different, but given time we should all be able to make it through just fine. Best of luck with your recovery!

      Hi SmudgeTheFirst
I am very glad to hear everything is going well with you.
I started to see some progress as well and i am very hopeful that i will be back to normal soon.
I started PT 5 weeks post op and now i am 1 week in, i started to gain back strength in my squads and i can move my leg without lifting it with my hands :) but I still use crutches to walk.
Right now i can bend my knee about 90° and i think the next step is to work on getting more ROM.
I wish you more progress and a healthy and steady recovery.
