    All those pioneers that trecked across Alaska looking for fortunes, making the great state, learning her rules. The making of a state. The airmen who were the firsts, taking the challenge, forging the way. A noble venture.

      Omg that place looks beautiful amazing. Sorry to ask this question, did anyone go in the summer time to look for vlad? Because since there's no snow in the summer it could be a little easier to look with cadaver dog's. My friends and I we're asking that question and I said I didn't know. Can you please tell us if they did? Thank you God bless you all 🙏 ❤

    Beautiful video and can't wait for episode 2! I have a friend who judges when winter is coming by the fireweed flowers. I believe it's when the last flowers on the stalk are gone the first snow won't be far behind or something like that.

      Leesa When the Fireweed blossoms bloom at the top of the stalk, it’s ~6 weeks to the first snow.

    Wow your videos are really well put together. Can't believe you don't have more subs. Here's a gratuitous comment to help the algorithm. It's like Flying Doodles, but you take more than 10 steps away from the aircraft.
    The hand holding the plane was a cute touch. I'm sure it will confuse many people.

    When I was there, I decided to go out mountain biking on a single track trail. I got lucky and will never do it again. I saw all kinds of wild life except for bear. I was out for about two hours in the wild which is nuts. I'm lucky I wasn't killed by a grizzly.

    Been there done that. Someone who has never walked the tundra and through the alders and black flies has no idea how hard your trek across country here in Alaska really is. And those rocks are bone breaking if you make one misstep. And the glacier water is ice cold! I feel your pain already man. Can't believe the one guy wearing shorts, bet his legs are already tore up. Bet he never does that again! Hey from Eagle River neighbor!

    Couple of tips crossing streams;
    1. know that stream crossing is one of the most dangerous activities in the back country (if not the most dangerous).
    2. try to cross where the stream is widest
    3. unbuckle your pack so you can shed it in an emergency (like tumbling down a glacier fed stream)
    4. consider carrying a strong pole so you can probe, lean on, and maybe have multiple partners hold on to.
    I fell in a glacial stream with a heavy pack on- my son was able to run down below me and grab me as I went by. Lost my rifle and was just shedding my pack. Turned out O.K. but did not have a pole for balance/support. Next time!

      Thats what i asked as well..! I guess there moving on with there lives..That guy must be dead some where in the bush, many wolves got him, since bears should be sleeping. Maybe he wants people to think he's dead and started a new life somewhere...who knows..?

    Outstanding views and scenery!! Love what I see of Alaska and the snow!!! The last of our unexplored wilderness areas. Enjoyed the video so much. Amazing how much has been settled in such out of way places. So is the water in creeks pure enough to drink?? Heard the bugs r horrible during the warmer seasons too. Any recommendations on groups that give tours of your area in Alaska?? Would love to plan an excursion there and so unfamiliar with the possibilities. Love your videos from here in the mountains of Tennessee. In my opinion a firearm a must just in case.
