Be mindful of the difference in Norwegian law as to what nationality you are. It might be harder for people outside of the EU to get a residence permit. Americans must document that they can support themselves economically have they not landed a job in advance. I think a 3 months tourist visa is the longest you can stay in Norway while searching for a job.

Thanks for taking your time to watch my videos, I actually need to think a bit, I did not came here with too much money I guess I had around 2000 euros, well It depends on how fast u are able to get an income, job. What your expanses will be duo to flat etc.. My best Advice to learn Norwegian is to cut out English and only speak Norwegian even if u are just at the beginner state, but before that u should do some Norwegian course I did 150 hours totally.

I've worked as a UX Designer in the IT industry for 4 years and have over 10 years of experience in UI and Graphic design. I'd love to find a job in northern Norway due to my love for the northern lights and preference for cooler summers. I'm curious if my age, in my mid-forties, would be a barrier to finding a job there, given that in my country, it's challenging for someone my age to secure employment as younger people are preferred for cost reasons. I'd love to know if you have any suggestions on which cities in the north I should be considering for job opportunities in the IT industry. Thank you in advance for your time and help!

It seems to be with your experience it should not be a problem to get a job. Cities ? Mh. maybe Tromsø, Alta, Kirkenes, Andøya or Bø there are maybe some it companies. Ive been super nervous about it all.

It is not necessary but out of integration reasons and respect I would highly recommend to learn it if you plan to stay here for more than 12 months. All communes offering for a low price Norwegian lessons for people who come here work here and live here at least for 6 months and more.
