- in this video i’m telling you the whole story why i moved to norway! it’s actually not just a happy story, but i decided to share it with you really honest. i remember in the periods where i felt so stuck and depressed i always was deeply grateful for people that shared also about the dark times in their lifes. it made me feel less alone and i think it can be so healing when we’re starting to open up to each other. so i hope you like the video, i hope you’re okay and even if not, let me tell you, you are not alone with it. ♥

Exactly! My husband is 3/4 Norwegian and he would ❤ to move to 🇳🇴 but smartly Norway is very selective on who it lets in because the job and language have to be there already.

I spent 6 months in the Arctic circle area of northern Norway. Believe me, the silence is like nothing else. It is strange but stress relieving.
omg can you please tell us how you did that, how did you find accommodation and price range? I cannot seem to find anything when it comes to renting in the northern area :(((

Norway is a really great country to live in if you experience anxiety, because NO ONE WANTS TO CHAT EVER on the street.
I have an exactly opposite issue. I moved to Norway from a big city in Russia and developed anxiety and panic attacks here. Me and my husband are planning to move to the south of Sweden, to a bigger city like Gothenburg or Stockholm. Been on anti-anxiety drugs for years since I moved to Norway.
@@Anastasia-sy2lo that is the weirdest. stockholm has a very bussy street and increasing violence. so does oslo i suppose. but i would never recomand living in cities in norway anyway. not unless you want a certain lifestyle

I can not agree more. I moved to Norway 4years ago thinking the same... People are looking at you everywhere, straight in your eyes (without any shame), waiting for you to say hi or smile, chat in elevators, at shops, forests, streets, fuckin everywhere (even if you have headphones!). Maybe they are trying to be friendly but it is creepy, very frustrating and overwhelming....
@@koromar1037 im Norwegian and i think what you say sounds completly foreign. Norwegians dont chat easily with strangers. Looking people in the eye for a short moment is normal. I dont think a stranger (who is not a employee) has ever talked to be in a shop in Norway, ever, not once in 32 years.
Now, if you are a good looking young woman you will of course get more attention, but thats true anywhere and even more so outside of Scandinavia. If what you say is true it is likely your own behaviour that makes people try to chat with you. Me or any women i know have never had this problem despite being Norwegian and living here all our life. Our experience is the exact opposite of yours, Scandinavia is one of the few places where people leave you in peace, maybe even too much so. Even talking to a stranger at a bus stop is extremly unusual and i can count on one hand the number of times ive seen it happen.
As for anxiety, if you have social anxiety Norway(or scandinavia in general) is not the best country, because people with social anxiety needs to actually interact with people to overcome it. Being isolated and in a unsocial enviroment will only make ur problem worse over time. Of course that doesnt mean it causes anxiety, but if you already had it, it will be more difficult to fix it in that enviroment.
And lastly @Anastasia
moving to Stockholm og Gothenburg is a very bad idea, people are even colder there. The biggest cities in Scandinavia are the ones socially coldest. Gothenburg and Stockholm also have huge problems with criminal immigrants and mass immigration and can especially be dangerous for women.
Your anxiety problem is not rooted in the city you are in but rather your own situation and yourself, work on urself rather than blame the surroundings and get off those pills, its really bad for you.
This is better than a year of visits to a psychiatrist.

Dear Leena, I have a friend from Malaysia. He came for a visit some years back. After having had a walk around in the fishing village we were staying at in Lofoten he came back and stopped me. Then he said, Frode, "do you know what I heard?" I had to tell him no, I don't know. Then he said "Nothing". I was baffled by this. But he then explained that he had lived 40 years in Kuala Lumpur and he had never heard nothing - or total silence before before. He loved it!

I was told by an exchange student that Norway was by far the hardest place for him to get to know new people but he also felt that Norway where the only place where he got "real" new friends.

No one is broken, its the society, the system that fill us with anxiety and bad thoughts. Meaningless expectations we give to us self and others. Humans belong in nature living a simple life
SPOT ON!! We are programmed daily to fit a certain way and culture when all along we simply should be living a harmonious, simple, peaceful and community life.

For someone whose primary language isn’t English, she absolutely has a command and poetic flourish of it that is wonderful and inspiring ... as is her story.
In Europe a lot of the grade school teachings requires that you have at least three language master before finishing high school and most of the students chose the most used language in the world as a skill set which of equates to competence in the marketPlace, more hireable. My cousin born in Paris FRANCE in middle school and high school studied .. of course French, English German if she knew Vietnamese as her mother’s native tongue and another language which I think is Chinese.
Scandinavian schoolchildren have an impressive command of English.

I keep watching this video. And every single time I'm left with feelings of deep sorrow, homesick and being powerless. I sooooo long for a home close to nature. I'm living in a big city in a very crowded and overpopulated country with many cultures coming together.. it's like a ticking timebomb. I feel nervous, scared, down and agressive very often. I can relate to your story as if it was mine. Except that I'm still living in the city. But Oh I will change this for the better. I will finaly take care of myself, so I don't have to feel like I'm not normal anymore. Some day, I will open my eyes and lungs to another place to call home with silence as my company, nature as my view and fresh air to breath this all in... thanks for sharing your amazing story! In 2019 I went to Norway for a month long road trip (from Finland) with my girlfriend and her sister. We took a ship from Turku to Stockholm and drove to Oslo. It was the first time I've ever been on a trip like that at an adult age and without my parents. The whole trip was life changing. And all the time I want to go back. So, last year we went back for two weeks. This time we went through the Finnish lapland and drove to Lofoten. The moment we crossed the border to Norway I felt home. I can't explain the feeling. Norway did something to me. It represents a freedom that I don't have back home in Finland and the completely impossible nature that Finland has none of. I can't believe a place like Norway exists. I can't think of a single negative thing about Norway, well, other than how expensive it is. Some day I hope to be able to live in Trondheim. At the very least I want to go back there. Not just for a few days. At least a month. I need it.

Many of us are introverts. Often people think we don't like people, but that's not really true. What it's about is we need the solitude of our own thoughts and are easily overstimulated by the outside world. We need to have peace to be at peace.
I take some hours to be in big cities here and there, and can enjoy it, but It' like a weight taken off as I leave them.

this is so true. I thought it was only me. I moved to Yorkshire from a big city and I realised what I always felt so uncomfortable living in big city- I just stayed in my house most of the time whilst living in a city.

Same about me. Im introverted and feel totaly at home in Norway. Everything is there so perfect for me, it's like magic, unexplainable feeling. Norway is calling me always even though I really love Germany and feel home also here. In Norway though I feel home 10 times more. Not moved yet but considering:)

@@joeynelson4091 True. If people don't like you in a small community you will be ostracized and socially dead and you'll have to move if you want a family, friends and so on. But living closer to nature is still better than living in a big, noisy city, IMO. Personally, I wouldn't mind living at least 3 kilometres away from the nearest neighbour.

I feel like Norway could have been home in a previous life. I feel so drawn to it, unlike any other country. It's such a strange, yet welcoming feeling. I have Asperger's. Was recently diagnosed as being on the "high functioning" end of the Autism spectrum, and I've always felt the way you describe. You may be on the spectrum. I considered myself a Highly Sensitive Person- HSP prior to discovering traits of women and girls with Aspergers. It runs in my family starting with my grandpa. My mom has it, and most if not all of my moms siblings. For years I thought my being different was just that I have ADHD- diagnosed at 5, and often hyperactive, but the Asperger's was missed until last year, at age 30. I got the diagnoses at 31. I'm also an empath- I feel others energy and emotions, and cand read their energy psychically. I'm also clairvoyant.

Heya Phil, tell me, did you also do the same things like Leena? Well, acting like you were an extroverted. I tried hard to be like them, but did not like it afterall. Always felt weird and lone even in crowds. They had fun, but all I wanted was to "escape" or going home. Now, after more than 20 years, I read books about introverts and hyper sensetive persons hsp and it is like Leena discribed. It really can do harm to you trying to be like most of common society. Its ok to meet with common people, but not for that many hours, cause after this it is getting exhausting.
I'm so happy to read comments like this, it not we who are broken, it's the system and the way most of us live 🙏

I've never had the feeling of being home and completely belonging until I went to Norway. What an amazing place and I'm so glad you have found your home.

Probably nobody will read this. It's okay. After high school, I took a gap year, working and spending it all on one 5-week-trip to Alaska. Your video hit such a vulnerable spot. I had a somewhat similar experience you describe. Stepping out of the plane and awkwardly feeling a sense of belonging. It was a life-changing trip on so many levels, I could go on for a while... Anyway, your words made me cry because I could relate to the beginning so much. Thank you, bless you.

This just shows how harmful noise and overpopulation is to especially introvert people. I hope a nice quiet place in the country becomes my home soon as well. I would like moving to Norway too if it wasn´t for my family.

I think it touches more people more deeply than you will ever know, and by simply sharing, you provide many people validation to do what they should have been doing long ago.....following their heart and feelings. Im American, retired military and have lived all over the world. From Germany to Okinawa, Japan to Afghanistan. Some people thrive in cities, others in the country and I feel everyone should experience both.....and then make that decision, Find a home where you spirit moves and live those days you call your life. I was choking up watching this and listening to what you said. So glad that you figured out you needed to move and find peace and started this inward journey.
i am now over 50 years old and never had the courage to go into the wilderness because i had the same fears: to be considered a failure, to be labeled an outsider. money has nothing to do with it - peace can be found everywhere.
I can perfectly understand how you must have felt in the city. i was once in the caribbean, bahamas and i loved it, but everywhere just ruckus, music and party and and and and - nowhere calm and peace.
A friend took me on his sailboat, to a small island, just sand and 5 palm trees on it and around 50 miles of sea, no boats, no people - nothing. Only calm sea, whispering sand, wind and silence. There I finally felt at home.
So I swore to myself that I would move on to the landside - and I did. It is better today - not perfect, but better.
I wish I was younger and had the money to buy a boat. Thanks for reminding me of my dreams!

Not trying to be rude here but if you are 50 and you want a boat you just sell somthing you dont need and buy a boat. I'm 39 so i know usless stuff acumulate over time and i have low income so if i want somthing new i sell somthing old.
@@zanster8336 ^^ It's not rude, it's true. The problem is: family, children, wife and life. I can't just break off and leave everything behind me - this my dream is mine, unfortunately nobody shares it. And I love my family ... so: its just a dream.
I would have had to go this way in earlier years. the impact of my decision would not have been so dramatic - but as I wrote above: I lacked the courage.
I just wanted to tell the young woman Leena that she is not alone and that I admire what she is doing.
"Failure"? why?? what`s wrong with trying? if you don`t like it..well, then at least you have tried. Also, by "going into the wilderness", I assume you are talking about settling down in a little house/cottage, like she does? not just going on a hiking trip..which can also be done together with other people, which means you couldn`t possibly fail. The fact that Leena has so many followers, must be a sign that many people are longing for wilderness as well, so I can hardly imagine that anyone would label you as an outsider. @@bjrnjensen7074 As I said: I am over 50 - those were somewhat different times back then in 1970´s. The fear of failing to do something wrong - that is not something you are born with - it is something you learn from your background.
My parents came from very poor backgrounds - dropouts were just stoned Hippies for people like them.
Anyway, my comment above should only be a praise for the young lady and not a discussion why I didn't do it the same way.
Remember: It was different, much different times back then - There were no social safety nets and it was far from easy to go and settle in another country ...
When I watched Jonna Jinton, I finally knew what I wanted in life. And when I watched this video of you, I am now convinced to move somewhere that would make me feel the same way as you did! I am from Philippines and I always felt like I don't belong here. Someday, I will be in a home in the middle of the forest, and a lake nearby 💖 thank you for being an inspiration!

Yes I agree. It is a shame that a Filipino's greatest achievement is to leave the country. It's very sickening aswell to see your country fall victim to systemic corruption and that you can't do anything about it. I hope you find your peace

I love your voice, music, how you put amazing photos together. I am in the middle of healing, and I love to see more of your work. I thought I am broken and I am doing all these work to heal for finding a way to get fixed, I bursted into tears when I heard you say "I am not broken Neither are you!" I hope oneway I can get out of darkness be where you are, fully healed and live best life. I once lost hope for that, your video makes me think maybe there is still chance. Thank you for what you do.

My girlfriend has exactly the opposite experience. She was born in a rural Italian village and when she went to Tokyo 5 years ago, there was no turning back.
It's really amazing now in this present times we can just do what we choose to do.
I grew up in rural Canada, surrounded by nature and farms and it was idyllic...but once I got a sense of city life, whoa! I just love being surrounded by people, the hubbub, the activity. I'd sooner sit at a street side table in Barcelona with a beer watching people than sit beside a rippling brook with a fishing pole.
Thank god for that. There is only so much room in Norway. If everyone came here it would fill up very quickly. To a certain extent I think you tend to flee from what you grew up with as well. I grew up in Norwegian nature, and at a certain point I almost started to despise being in it. Particularly after serving in the army there. Give me drizzle and an urban setting without trees, thank you! If I never see snow again it will be a billion years too soon.
Anyway, it turns back again. Now I love nature and trees. But there was a period there when I definitely did not.

Uhm no. That only applies to people with money. if your broke and struggeling with mental health ishues you cant just move to some place that would suit you. We can't just do what we choose. I have been stuck in the city for over 7 years because I can't afford to move anywhere because of my mental health ishues I can't hold a job so I have to live on a budged provided by my government, but it's barely enough to get by. Don't get me wrong I'm gratefull my country even has a budget like that. But considering most of my ishues are strongly enhanced by the city and the crowd, there is a good chance I could find a job if I got to live in a quiet peacefull environment where there is not noise/music/loud people everywhere all the time. I need a big budget to move, as the nice and quiet places in my country are all expensive. And only if i can live in a place like that will I be able to destress enough to function again. It's the great irony of how this sytem works. With a higher budget I could heal, and become independant again. The low budget means I'm stuck in a cycle I can't escape from. I've been suicidal about this. (before worried people start replying I'm not suicidal now, just very very stressed ) Me and my mome tried everything, nothing worked, and nobody can help us. People say you should be gratefull for just having a roof at all, and I am, but as I am high sensitive to noise, and almost all living spaces have neighbours that make noise, I almost never find rest. I sleep horrible, I lock myself in my room all day to avoid more noise from outside, it sucks. If I won the jackpot I'd move to a nature filled place like that instandly. So as somebody who can't choose what to do, to the point she considerd suicide as the only way to escape all the noise, I'd have to disagree with you. Only those with money, or certain abilities have that freedom. The rest is stuck in the ratrace.
This brought me to tears. I've been wrestling with those same feelings-being lost, out of place, unhappy, perpetually anxious-and slowly realizing why. The thought of leaving everyone I know is incredibly painful, but I don't know how else I'll ever find peace.
Hello Korrd, may I ask you: Where do you live? Those buzzing loud cities are horror, but also horror is beeing in a crowd, but still feeling out of earth, cause you miss kinda depth within humans. Party, money, image...boring. Spirit, emathy, soul, kindness. yes.
Yes, this is the same kind of struggle i face. I would leave in an heartbeat if it weren't for my family.
But they want to stay. And moving alone, i don't think i can be happy for long without them. I would have peace, but it would be so lonely. So i try to make small steps to create a live like that here with the possibilities i have until i make the final decision to stay or to move either way.
@@SeelenTaucher I live in the US in a fairly rural town. However, any work involves traveling to much more populated areas that make me inherently uncomfortable. I don't like the bustle and noise. And with the political situation here, even at home I'm constantly beset by the feeling that I'm surrounded by people who think very differently than I do, as if I'm residing in a country that is actively hostile to people like me. Even before 2016 I felt very much out of place, but since then it's gotten far worse. Someone asked me recently what quality I feel most people lack and 'empathy' was the first word that came to mind. I've been at odds with my environment and everyone around me for so long that now all I want to do is live in isolation and just... recover. I feel like we've all lost something in pursuit of 'progress'. Sure, we have a coffee shop on every corner, but what have we sacrificed? I yearn for something simpler.

It's weird, I have this thing where I feel like I belong everywhere. The most depressing thing to me is that I can only grow up once and live one life, and then it's over. I wish I could live a thousand lives, all over the world, but sadly I can't. Rural areas are amazing and I can empathise with the sense of calm and tranquility you feel there. But I also find I love cities, the activity of them and their diversity and size. I'm only young but I'll probably end up living in a city. I would love to live in a rural area, but I'm constantly reminded by how short my life is and my need to go to as many places as possible. Living in a rural area is something I would do if I had an extremely long life span, but unfortunately I don't so I do not think I could cope.
Regardless, Norway is a beautiful and amazing country and I hope you enjoy your new life there! :)

Venmis I feel exactly the same. Maybe in a few years they will be able to add more years of life for every life lived and we can live forever which gives us more time 😊. Or we can wait a while until virtual reality becomes as real as the real world. Or maybe we’ll be reincarnated - there is actually serious research to prove it exists. But the safest option is probably to make the most of the one life you know you have!

That is so relatable with any human being first of all, I know how you feel and I guess you are still young so you are uncertain in certain things. Humans need nature. We are not ment to live in concrete jungle with constant pollution by loud noise and flashing lights, with constant social pressure to do useless things. Its always a huge relief every time i travel to the norwegian mountains, and just turn my phone off and relax.
More and more people are depressed, wonder why... I am willing to bet alot more people feel this way you did, maybe without even realizing it themselves yet.

Norway has actually a large problem with depression during winter due to the fact we lack vitamin D and theres a lot less sun here, but summer is a different story
I agree that nature is wonderfull, but how and where humans should live, really depends on the preference of the individual.
Personally i would be depressed and feel isolated if i lived the life she does. A week like that would not be a problem, but i would never settle down as isolated as her.
I would love to live in a big city, and i cant really explain why. I would just personally be fulfilled by enjoying all the diffirent people, the hustle and never being alone.
But again it all comes down to personal preferences

Totally relate. I gave up my career and fast-paced, ambitious life in NYC a few years ago to have a simpler, slower life in a small village in France. And I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do! Your story inspires me to continue sharing my own visual creations and nature films here on TH-cam. @@dw309 it's actually doable. Anything is doable with extensive planning, research and preparation. :) I'm on a long-stay tourist visa. It's renewable every year. My husband is teaching English. After paying taxes for 5 years in France and passing a language requirement, you can receive citizenship through the naturalization process. I share a lot on my youtube channel and extensive blog archives.

Last year I went camping in wadi rum (southern jordan desert) with my sister..
And for once I experienced a mental state that I never dreamed of..
Now, I do camp there two days every week alone, I may not enjoy Trees and nature like norway, but I can truly see my self..
I'm really metally satisfied and I wish I could keep this habit for as long as I could..

If you ever visited the Bavarian countryside you know exactly what I mean. The problem for me are the world's large cities. But everywhere I go I do find marvelous countryside where life can be good. My mom did the same she was done with it all here in Holland and she packed her bags and moved to Norway.
She learned the language and found a job very quickly, found a little house in the middle of nowhere very quiet.
I've been there on holiday and its really a different world so relaxing and with beautifull nature straight from a postcard.
Everytime i comeback from Norway i need to adjust to the life here in Holland its so hectic.

I moved from Istanbul to Amsterdam in 2009. Life is so peaceful here. It is I guess all about perspective thus varies from one person to another.
I live in Orange County California, and cannot imagine life in Holland being hectic. I’m thinking though it’s different when you actually live there. For visitors, a new place is always livable until you do. I don’t dispute living in Norway or Sweden (as the other girl) is fantastic and has its charms. I’m afraid of the cold winters and would not do well in the lonely nights. Vacations, even long ones, would be a much better choice for me. They’ll keep me dreaming, too, that I found my own little nirvana. 🇺🇸🇳🇴🇸🇪🇩🇪🇱🇺
it really depends on where you live in the netherlands. I've lived in a lot of places here. Also in big cities in the north, middle and south. Now i live in a small vilage near the forest (veluwe), i can see it from our house.There's a lake only 5km from us, but there are also enough facilities nearby like a school for the kids and multiple supermarkets. If we want to go to a larger city like utrecht for exampe,its only a 45min drive

When I was 7 year old, we experienced war, terrorism, theft and blackmail in the country of Iraq. We managed to escape that hell thanks to my great parents. We moved to Norway when I was 8 years old. And that was the first time in my entire life I experience ''Silence'' and being left alone. I grow up in Norway and now I am 26 year old. This is the nicest and best country in my opinion. I love norwegian people, people from Norway, Sweden, Danmark and Finland are the nicest people on earth. Real freedom is in Scandinavia with the vikings.

I am of Kurdish orgin, a minority who lived in Iraq. On the top of that, I am atheist. We are a persucuted minority in Iraq. I am greatefull that norway open their arms for us. We love norwegian people and we respect the norwegian way of life.

My parents are muslim and born in the kurdish city of Halabja which Saddam Hussein used chemical weapons against. Today the country of Iraq is dangerous than ever. Iranian muslim influence dominate that country, as ISIS does small attack here and there.

Kurdish family members, People in my parents family fought tooth and nail against ISIS also known as Islamic State, I have a uncle who got wounded in the battle for Sinjar. To rescue other minority from ISIS. a radical muslim group. So I find it funny when people tell me don't bring islam to Norway.

My mom took me to Norway for a family reunion five years back or so. This video shocked me. This is exactly how I felt immediately after breathing in that Norwegian air. Being there was tranquil and I felt for the first time in my life truly truly at peace. The people I met there were some of the most magical and kind souls and the nature was just so comforting. I have always said I want to go back and live there. Ever since I left. I know that no matter what happens in my life I can always hold onto Norway. In that country I learned to breath and I can again. Love your video and I feel so happy you made that dream come true

Basically they make tons of youtube channels with professional production team of editors and camera-men in a hope that at least 1 or 2 of the channels will become super successful. Every single one of these "van-life style" channels work this same business model. Just watch any of those style of channels and they are all made the same way. In all of them the tone of the voice is the same, the musice, the photos of the nature, they all are artists, the hair, the personal style. Norway is expensive country and she and other girls would not be able to afford a house, a car, internet, camera, food etc without a good salary. So, don't be a fool.

When you said "I felt home" tears started to appear in my eyes. The first time I was in Denmark in 2016 and last summer the first time for me in Sweden I had this strong feeling of coming home. Since I was a child I've felt something inside me calling me home. I've just graduated from school and my best friend and I are going to do a road trip through Sweden, Norway and Denmark soon. I felt the same way when I landed in Denmark! I knew I belonged; I knew it. I am an American and I've been on this planet for quite a while. I always knew I belonged somewhere but didn't know where. I really truly believe it's my Scandinavian roots calling me home.
Lara Hansen Norway is special. I am saying that as a Dane, living near the city where the ferries leave to Christiansand. The forests, fjords, mountains, rivers and waterfalls are impressing. Its not easy to relocate, but for the young people today, it should be a realistic option.
Same here with Sweden. But the moment I realized it was when I started learning Swedish without ever having been there. And it became so much stronger when I visited Sweden then time after time. Some people are just born in a wrong country. Later I actually learned that I'm 1/64th Swedish, probably something in the genes, who knows

I have had a similar experience with Norway. In 1984 I moved there from California to be an exchange student for one year. I lived with a wonderful family on their farm on an island near the Arctic Circle. The moment I saw their farm and the place I would be living I knew I was home. Like you said, no analyzing, no thinking about it, I just knew. I have been back 10 times over the years and every time I am there I feel more at home than I ever have in California. I became part of the family I lived with and now my kids feel like they are part of my Norwegian family as well. The people are amazing, the nature is amazing and everything you said about it is spot on. I'm glad you are home and well now. Say hi to Norway for me! Please let me know if you read this. Very interesting, Jim. Glad you enjoyed Norway and especially this area of the country :-) Do you remember the name of this island? I have grown up just below the arctic circle here in Norway, and I am more or less addicted to hiking here during summer time. Love the bright summer nights.

"Not having much, and not needing much" feels so wrong to me. To me it seems you live in astonishing luxury. Not luxury defined by big swimming pools, fast cars or vast mansions, but luxury in space, nature, silence and not having to work night shifts in a soul crushing factory. This is so much more than what most people have, even compared to germany - on a global scale this is even more poignant. Living alone in a house, especially a great one like this is not "not much". Being able to step outside into nature, not hearing anything but nature, not needing to see or interact with dozens of people is incredibly rare.
I see finding job suitable for one, despite these problems, still being able to work. And finding partner. Both of those things are golden valuable things in life, cannot buy with money and not upon oneself but some chance of luck.
Unfortunately there is a huge part of the world where this is rare, but I only think that’s in industrial places. Such as many America states
I agree with most of what you're saying. But living such a life isn't that big a stretch for most Europeans. If you live in a Schengen country, you can move to and work in Norway. You could find a job that is possible to do from home or locally. Thanks to the internet you could do a lot of media / IT work from home. And as a Norwegian, I welcome people who want to move here, as long as they can provide for themselves and their closest family.

I can relate to your story so much. I moved from Italy to Belgium for the same reason, and virtually anyone I know thinks I am crazy for choosing cloudy Belgium over sunny Italy. I instantly felt home when I visited this place 7 years ago. Even the language felt incredibly familiar, and this land was calling me like a siren. 🦋✨ Here I can hear the birds sing, the air is fresh and clean. I live a simple life and I think this is the best decision I have ever made.

Azhari Arif Italy is amazing from a natural, historical and cultural standpoint. My city, Rome, is pure chaos sometimes. Life there was very messy and chaotic for me.
@@ASMRconKiki Italian history is amazing no doubt. But the country is like Greece and Egypt a modern state leeching off, of what it was once. My friend lived there with his mom, they didn't like Italy and came back to Malaysia. You know it's no good when someone left Europe only to live in Southeast Asia.

I understand how she feels. When I was younger, my vacations with my ex wife involved traveling by air, paying huge amounts at resorts, meeting new people ( I dreaded dinner time conversations with friends of friends or family members that vacationed with us) staged photos, contrived romantic evenings or structured "adventure" activities. That is 20 years in the past ( so is the ex) and age 60, my favorite vacations are time I spend alone. My last vacation I backpacked by myself for 4 days without a phone, didn't see another human being and never saw a man made object. Unfortunately, due to family concerns, I can't live in a remote area. Silence is golden. Cities are nothing but anxiety chambers for some of us. I understand that escaping city life is difficult for most people-humans love modern conveniences, dining, technology, social interaction. I'm glad I discovered that less is more. Best of luck.

I totally understand how you feel! I am 61 and I love being in the wilderness. The beauty of the forest soothes me and makes me feel at peace. I can spend days by myself just enjoying nature. I hate crowds and I don't like mindless chatter. Although I live in a crowded suburb due to my occupation I dream of retiring to a small cabin in the woods away from others. I am not anti-social mind you. I do enjoy being around others from time to time. But I just love solitude.

Panarome I actually think it is. I left the Netherlands to move to Berlin and I love living there. But I meet many people (daily) who don’t like living there at all and can’t understand why I moved. And when I tell them why, they’re baffled! 😅
You are unhappy because you dont have Jesus in your life, society told you there is no God with a reason, to make life meaningless and to make people depressed all the time thru demonized tv shows and music or instant pleasure(porn for example). Jesus gives peace and joy and is the only truth in this world❤
Someone made a comment about” having to adjust to live in a sick society” and that couldn’t have been better said. By being forced to live so closely in diseased, decadent societies such as we do in large crowded cities,peoples developpe all kinds of psychological disorders, saddly it’s all too common for both men, women, children... It’s no wonder this generation of peoples is the one that is consuming the most anti depressants of all types, opioids ect ect just to be able to cope with daily life, just to be able to keep up....

interestingly, and have very similar feelings about my life, and finding my own secure and healing place where to recover and to grasp understanding more deeply about myself !
