  • Carole Lombard's life was cut dramatically short, but her legacy and the theories about her passing have endured across the decades. In this video, we look at every detail of her exciting and tragic life.
*Erratum: 'In 1931, after their two pictures together, Lombard had fallen in love with and married her co-star William Powell, who was Paramount's top actor at the time.' We meant 'moved in with' and not married (they never married and we went into detail about their complex relationship in our William Powell video, linked here. Sorry for the slip!) • Hollywood Mysteries #8...
Donna Reed (who chose the opposite course of action to Carole Lombard when requested to give up her seat on a plane for army personnel) • Hollywood Mysteries #2...

I enjoy these documentaries very much. I have always been a fan of Lombards and interested in her life. Maybe because she was so captivating in pictures and I appreciate the research and details you give about her. That was the first time I ever heard about the plane being shot down.

Excellent work, as always! I had earlier posted that Carole had received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her bond work, and added the link (not mine) where I had found the info... it looks as if it has been deleted... i apologize if it is against your policy to post such links...I really enjoy all of your videos...

Lombard knew exactly who she was. I think a lot of her real personality shone through in her comedies. She didn't care what Hollywood thought of her outside the studio. She walked past Joan Crawford &

I ALWAYS LIKED Carole Lombard!!!! But with her "Religious Background," I always thought it rather surprising that she would date a "MARRIED MAN"!!!! Her life was ANYTHING BUT BORING, that's for sure!!!! And there are those that would say that because of Gable's "ADULTERY," he was punished, not sure. Thank-You for taking us along on your IN- DEPTH Journey into Carole Lombard's life!!!!

Her generosity is found with Jack Barrymore. He's actually the one that worked with her during "Twentieth Century" to bring out her over the top performance, which works because Barrymore just as over the top. It was Lombard that insisted on the washed-up Barrymore for 1937's "True Confession". I always heard that Fredric March story was associated with George Raft. lol

It's nice to say she wasn't a Hollywood stereotype, but her last actions were to basically force her companions to take a very long flight that they were very against taking for various reasons, including being actually *frightened* & sure that something bad would happen if they did take it, then she refused to give up their seats to actual soldiers. Pretty typical diva kinda stuff if we're being honest 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, if there's a hand of god, it seems like that hand reached out to warn her in every way!!!

LOMBARD STREET - a main SF throughfare heading out toward the GGB and points N still respects Her major input in creating a heterosexual female identification pattern / role model 4 the Depression era ..teenyboppers to identify with - I'm sure ...and despite alI the degeneration going on in the region - in spirit and in societal decay. Bet the Noir City festival has "its spoon in the soup" ...
Here today, gone tomorrow - phrase should be explicitly & exclusively be dedicated to Her - if to any sudden death celeb case of the distant past. The inferred conspiracy sounds unlikely, but ..."Heaven knows, Mr Allison .." The world is a dangerous turf and life can be an accident itself ..
