Peaks of the Balkans - Hiking the Balkan Trail - Ep. 3

- In September 2023 we hiked 6 days along The Peaks of the Balkans trail. This long distance hike connects three different countries within one common mountain region, the Western Balkans. We hiked on the Montenegro and Albania sections of the trail, and skipped the Kosovo side, in order to cut the number of hiking days short.
Walk with us through the Albanian Alps, better known by their local Albanian (Bjeshkët e Nëmuna) and Serbo-Croatian (Prokletije) names - both of which mean "The Accursed Mountains".
Day 1: Plav to Vusanje (ME)
Day 2: Vusanje (ME) to Theth (AL)
Day 3: Theth to Valbona (AL)
Day 4: Valbona to Cerem (AL)
Day 5: Cerem to Doberdol (AL) via Perslopit pass
Day 6: Doberdol (AL) to Plav (ME) via Hridsko Jezero
We are Benjamin and Céline, and travel over land with our Toyota Landcruiser HZJ75, converted into a 4x4 camper. We left Belgium in September 2023 and drive through Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Eastern Africa. Our end goal is Southern Africa.

Which country have you been?
This hike was in both Montenegro and Albania. If you would do the full Peaks of the Balkans trail it would also cover a stretch in Kosovo.
