Really best compilation on topic Rice! I could know many new things about rice. I was searching alternative for white rice.... You have described well various options. Thanks lot
Parboiling has been done traditionally in many areas of India. In my ancestral area of South Canara it has been done for ages. Parboiling also fixes the the nutients into the endosperm. So it is much healthier.
@@priyaannc joha rice is similar to ambe mohar or indriani rice... But tastier n healthier... Also there is a rice called Boka saul, that you can soak in water and eat Directly without boiling
I come from Mangalore, Karnataka. We eat matta rice which is brown. Kerala people also eat that on daily basis. Plz analyse that rice as well if that’s healthier rice.. Thanks for the wonderful video.
The Matta rice eaten in Kerala would come under parboiled semi brown rice, if you want to fit into the categories mentioned above. In Kerala, we traditionally boil the rice in large vessels before de husking, not sure if Mangalore people do it. Bran is partially removed and some parts of it will be left, meaning the rice won't be fully polished. This process gives it the brownish colour and digestion is considerably slower than white rice.
In telugu see farmer Vijay Ram of Emerald mithai shop interview .he does palekar method of farming he spoke about many rice varieties like rajamudi, bahuroooi, nvara, govindbhog etc
Yes, what Vijay Ram said is true. Palekar method of farming is usually done in 400 square yards where we can grow most of the vegetables except rice. Now coming to rice, the varieties of rice you mentioned is really good rice. I have been eating these rice for the past 4 months and believe me I have seen a lot of difference in my health especially in terms of fitness and agility. And as mentioned by Vijay Ram, the current type of rice which we’re getting in the market is genetically modified rice which has high fat, low fibre and low nutrients. This rice has high yield when grown compared to the non genetically modified rice but it is not good for health. And also the current rice which we are getting in the market is low in fibre; be it even the no polished rice. So there is no use of eating this non polished genetically modified rice. So best is to eat the original desi rice which is not genetically modified.
Hats off to you Vivek.....The tremendous research done...really appreciate. The depth of research involved....and for you to share it with us...amazing...Thank you once again

Thank you so much for your content. Please come up with a video for low blood pressure - causes and cure.
I think white rice is not so bad until you eat with high fiber food like dal, rajma , chhole and many more... As we know it's complete food and some of people can't tolerate brown rice because of it has high arsenic element and some people can't digest this much can lead to digestive issue bloating and all... White rice is lighter to digest those who have sensitive digestion. It just about portion contro over foods
Yeah brownrice can have bloating issues ,but we have various varieties of rice which are available in market now (like keral matta rice, black rice , basmati brown rice,etc..), you can try them by reducing white rice to alternative days ,then also it will be a gamechanger for health
I mean if you portion control it and stick to balanced meals then white rice is not an issue but then brown and other types are better. Have you tried kala namak rice or Buddha rice which is grown in UP(mostly Eastern UP) is known for having very low GI compared to other types also has several health benefits
