I've been using baked potatoes for fries for years. Just bake the potatoes the day before and chill them over night(honestly it's great because you can keep quiet a few in the fridge cooked or slice and freeze them) Then slice them how you like (I prefer big steak fries or wedges, really love wedges) and fry them in 375° oil until golden brown anda little salt. Super crunchy outside and perfectly fluffy inside.
A different tasty take on the spinach and artichoke dip toast, that’s just as easy. Is rolling out puff pastry, that you can find at any supermarket, spread the dip all over the dough. Then slice into long ribbons. Then roll into pinwheels and bake. You can sprinkle some Parmesan over them if you want. This recipe works with pretty much any dip. This was a big hit at our family Christmas dinner.
The potatoes look amazing! Picturing those as fingerlings sliced in small rounds, with a dollop of sauce on top, served as canapes. Happy New Year, David!! Enjoy your break in January, and thanks for the delicious content!
Happy New David, if you think time flies by now, just wait. I'm 54, how did I get here SO damn quick! Thank you for all your hard work, my husband and I enjoy watching you every weekend.
I'm spending New Year's with my dog in my truck. At least part of it. I should be home that day. I'm not complaining. I enjoy what I do. But all that was to say Happy New Year from me and my pup!
I’m sure as an appetizer that spinach artichoke dip would be great on some dinner rolls. I’ve had something similar done in a hollowed out large round loaf of bread with the inside bread and additional chunks of a good loaf on the side to dip into it. It’s a crowd pleaser. Also with a crab dip if you fancy seafood 🦞
No shade from me on bottle dressing! I’ve made my own from-scratch Caesar dressing plenty of times in the past. But nowadays I just add a squeeze of anchovy paste to some Ken’s (they’re the best supermarket Caesar I’ve found!). I use more than most people - about the length of an adult toothbrush’s bristles for 1-1.5oz of dressing. Normal people should start with half that amount.
How do you know it was unwashed? Also, a lot comes in packages and are washed multiple times, they are not in the same categories of fruits and veggies that are bare and can be dropped on the ground or touched by people (unless they break the seal of the package which would be obvious.). Vegetables like this (lettuces, cabbages, etc do not have to be washed inside as not much touches it. Regardless, it's possible to still wash the whole thing, just not necessary.
happy new year, David! thank you for every recipe you made this year! every sacrifice you made for your distaste of cream cheese for our reviewer enjoyment. you deserve the break!
Thank you David for another year of videos, I love watching them (and they always makes me hungry). Cheers to you and I hope to have you every week next year with more great and weird foods.
happy new year, david!! from an OG fan it’s been a pleasure watching you and your channel grow. looking forward to seeing what changes are in store for next year 🎉
Not sure if you know this but I think the purpose of the grapes might be in connection to a common tradition in a lot of hispanic households to eat 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight for good luck (one grape for each month of the year). We also are supposed to clink champagne flutes and drink them as well so maybe that’s why the grapes are tossed around in it?
Happy new year David, thank you for all of the videos and all of the ingredients assemblies, and all of the voiceovers. I truly always look forward to your videos. I've also been stumbling across another yt channel with the name of Jordan Howlett lately, and he's been sharing recipes from chain restoraunts, but nobody ever tried to make them? So I thought of you, maybe it would be something interesting for the new year if you ever run out of recepies to test. In any case, I hope you're having a great time off. As always looking forward to your next video.
wishing you a happy and safe new year from australia! looking forward to another year of awesome content for me to sit and watch with popcorn and coke zero. or to watch with dinner, the food makes me hungry.
I hope the way David peeled those garlic heads just for the camera and doesn't do that all the time. But omg when you roasted them with some ghee and smushed, that could literally go on anything and be good lol. +1 for reusing the bacon fat. I think my fav thing of this vid is him using a spoon to eat the "salad" lol. That's 100% what I would do and appropriate.
People have existed for years without washing romaine and have been fine. Most are prewashed. some people soak the whole ting. I don't wash it at all and have lived. You do not know if he didn't wash it or not, he never said he didn't. Everything will be fine, he will not die.
Has your disdain for cream cheese lowered a bit since it's not so ubiquitous in trendy recipes anymore? You know, because you don't have to eat it so much? Or do you think it's ruined forever? :(
That's it, I think you solved it! Not much more to get, it wasn't meant to be a mystery! Most recipes in general are just regurgitations, let alone tiktok recipes. There are only so many things that can be made.
He was doing videos from tik tok which show multiple slightly changed recipes for things that exist. Why would he do a normal recipe other than what was his video? Radical thinking, right?
@Lauren-uj1ny yes.... I saw the video title and understood the premise too. The comment is more about the silliness of throwing it all together like that rather then any actual advice intended for him.
I have exam on 1st of January (yes my college is the absolute worst), but thank you David. I graduated entirety of high school watching your videos almost religiously while eating lunch. It's been a ride and it's insane how time just moves on without consideration. But none the less, I hope you have a wonderful break and see you again next year!
The grapes would've probably worked better in a vacuum sealed container? And why didn't you make it your own cesar dressing it's so much better than store bought
It’s only going to get worse. I saw someone explaining why time seems to go faster and jfc it was depressing. When we’re young everything is new and exciting and we tend to remember new experiences more. All that memory makes time feel slower. As we grow up and experience less new and exciting events we don’t take on as many new memories, which makes us feel like time is moving faster. The only way to counteract this is to constantly try and find something new and exciting, unfortunately for most of us that’s impossible bc it requires time and money we don’t have.
There is no point to mention that because you do not pay to do anything. If you use it and think you don't like to play the games provided, it's up to you as an individual to simply stop playing. Some people will play and get as much money as they can, and some won't. No one ever said it's a get rich quick thing.
Man I love your vids and have watched every single one I could but the Mistplay sponsor is an absolute L. It really feels like you didn't even look into them beforehand.
@13soap13 eNtIrE cOoKbOoKs That doesn't make a ground beef cake interesting. And your education failed you if you think that's what violently American means

Anyone else think of that video with the TV hosts all eating that awful artichoke dip when they hear the phrase artichoke dip? 🤣
That was incredible, I’m so glad I went and found it. I needed a giggle 😂
YES
I just looked it up. She used an orange?! 😂😂😂
Thank you for that. I looked it up.
the fact that is the news station for my city and I have met all those anchors, they are all super nice irl!

3:03 my mother used to do that: frozen grapes, as a snack.🥰
They're DELICIOUS. 😋 Used to put sugar and lemon juice on them.
These recipes all look really delicious. Enjoy your time off. I hope you and Stephen get to spend some quality time together.
11:55 Thanks to you David for all your passion and dedication! Love your work! Best wishes from Colombia! 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
There is so much pesticide on fruit you really do not have to worry about bugs. We would be better off if it was bugs on our produce.
Thank you for a great year David! Enjoy your break 🥰
First TH-cam video I’ve watched in 2024. Starting my year right! 🎉

In Australia we call the hollowed out bread and dip a cob loaf! We fill them with all sorts of yummy things 😊

That artichoke dip toast looks so good, I'm halfway tempted to actually give it a shot myself!
This festive background brings me so much joy, it's so sad it's going to be gone soon
Happy new years David! Mad love since 2014
Lol at David giving us a lecture about washing fruits and berries, then proceeding to chop up unwashed romaine 8:00 .

Happy new year, David and family! These videos have been my refuge in a not-so-great year. Thanks for everything
Omg def gonna try the potato recipe I’m also a big potato lover
david pulling out the large jug of prosecco with grapes in it killed me i was expecting him to grab a cup or something 😭😭
Happy new year!!

Yum! Thanks and Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you and yours.
The late great Gypsy Rose Lee ate 12 grapes on New Years Eve...on countdown. Thats the only viewpoint I have on the grapes.
Have happy new year David 🎉
Dave! I hope your subscribers are up. I really enjoy your channel. I have gotten many recipes from you.
Happy New Year 🥳🎉🎇
I’m not a champagne guy either but I had Chandon Moet the other day and it was the best I’ve had

For the potatoes, does it matter the kind of potato we use? Thanks
Was there an oven temp and time for the spinach artichoke dip bread, or just high temp until cheese browns?
Thank you, David, for perusing TikTok so I don’t have to.

Lol the glasses changed bc there’s no longer two zeros in the year to place the circles . I don’t think they’ve given up.
I don’t understand you’re a version for cream cheese. It definitely has its application.
Hope you do good next year.
The grapes would've probably worked better in a vacuum sealed container?
Wow I’m hungry now😪😪
Should have pickled your own flower buds.
never been this early
Did he not wash the lettuce?? Oh boy, you need to wash that Romain lettuce

lmao why would you wait until the potatoes cooled down to proceed with the next step when confiting the garlic takes two hours
Has your disdain for cream cheese lowered a bit since it's not so ubiquitous in trendy recipes anymore? You know, because you don't have to eat it so much? Or do you think it's ruined forever? :(
i dont get the ceasar pasta salad... its just basically adding pasta to a ceasar salad and maybe some extra spices.
That's it, I think you solved it! Not much more to get, it wasn't meant to be a mystery! Most recipes in general are just regurgitations, let alone tiktok recipes. There are only so many things that can be made.
Did you and Steven break up?
I think that last one would be better if you toasted the bread and cheese and just used the dip as a dip. I know... radical thinking.
He was doing videos from tik tok which show multiple slightly changed recipes for things that exist. Why would he do a normal recipe other than what was his video? Radical thinking, right?
@Lauren-uj1ny yes....

the prosecco has lost all of its carbonation from being kept in a jug with grapes overnight, of course it doesn't taste good anymore.
❤❤

The grapes would've probably worked better in a vacuum sealed container?

The point of this series is to try viral TikTok recipes as they are, not improve them. He also explained why for like a full minute lol

David using a spoon in that pasta salad should be illegal
I can't believe you can vote for president but not drink in America. Odd to me.
What happened to Stephen? You said you had no one to kiss at midnight?
2:17 Mistplay makes me angry. Just the name pisses me off. Myst is a thing, and deserves respect, and MistPlay has nothing at all to do with Myst.
Hate that sponsorship. Nothing against MistPlay but wish you acknowledged how unlikely you are to get decent money.
