As a Canadian who's lived in 4 different countries (Canada, Australia, Sweden, and Denmark) I'd say that it's really hard to move somewhere for just a couple of years. The amount of work, money and time that goes into visas and figuring out life in the new country is a lot. It can take years just to settle in a little - and visas are so much easier to get for Canadians vs Americans, because we have visa agreements with many countries. I always see people casually talking about moving to another country as if it's an easy thing to do 😅 but it's legit hard and you have to really want it or be in it for the long term!

We have mice living in our appartment walls during winter and we can hear them scratch, eat at the wood and sometimes fight lol. We have 3 cats and they go crazy trying to find them whenever they hear them running in the walls eh
We had rats and mice at our apartment u can hear them through the wall and bath tub it’s been nice and quiet now but the landlord has people spray outside I think others called and complained. It use to freak me out
I married a German so totally feel you about people hating Americans. Mini rant upcoming… I go Germany once or twice a year and most people are great but ohhhhh boy do people have STRONG negative feelings about America (not my husband of course). It’s my biggest pet peeve. They miss so many nuances and how big and diverse our country is because their country is SO SMALL comparatively. Honestly an individual state here is like a whole freaking country in Western Europe. Looking at it like that also puts our political situation in better perspective. There’s a cultural difference too because here it’d be considered very rude to bring up the politics of someone’s country but in Germany it’s definitely socially acceptable. And they also don’t want to hear my perspective of being born and raised in America… they want to tell ME what the politics of MY country are (they normally get it wrong). 🙄 My husband says it’s related to the types of news about America that gets shown there. He also think there’s a “cool” phase happening in Europe right to hate on the US. Anyways off my soap box. I actually love parts of Germany and have good friends there who are lovely and wonderful. It’s just so much more common there than here to meet rude people who want to dump their own feelings on me.
Hope the rat situation gets solved soon! Have y’all reached back out to the pest control company to see if they can seal up where they are getting into the building? Hearing the wall scratching is the worst!

I have lived in so many old apartments in my life and honestly have never seen one mouse or rat. If I heard them I would honestly not be able to sleep. All the bad luck you guys have with apartments in LA it might be time to take as a sign
I have to live with mice. Old building, and three hundred units. My cat helps, but she thinks they are toys for her. She won't let me near her, because she knows, I'll take it. She injures them, and they escape. It disgusts me, but what can I do. I own this place.
You probably know this by this point as I am so late to this video but the reason that the lines are all over the place are probably because of brexit. It would have been more even when eu and uk were lumped in together as they would have put more staff on that bit and barely any on other countries but now that they expect to have more eu people they probably put more people on the other countries side and less on the uk side. Especially as we have a good number of EU people who live in the uk as well as holiday makers
Rats live and stay outside, mice come inside and can be in your walls. I have had/ have problems with mice for 2 years now, so I know what you're feeling.
I don't think British people even like other British people lol. I have had quite a few online friends from the UK through gaming. They're actually my favorite lol. I love their humor and personality, very cool people IMO
i'm really glad you wear a mask here. i do too, and honestly i would have in the uk as well because my health is more important than anything (i don't want to get long covid or dementia ffs) but i do understand the peer pressure. i think boris johnson was just as bad for the uk as our jerk was for us and nothing was done right for either country. i really feel like i'm going to be masking for the rest of my life, even if no one else does, because the long-term effects of this horrible virus are just too dangerous to risk it.
i feel you. it's always so reassuring to see other people continuing to mask even when it feels like everyone else has stopped. i don't think people truly understand how horrible long covid can be, and since i know people who have to deal with long covid... it's not worth the risk. at this point i'm just trying to stay aligned with whatever epidemiologists are doing.
i like to get tattoos every 3-5 years with some design that symbolizes that chapter in my life--when im old i want my body to be full of postcards from my life!
The mask situation is totally different in different parts of the US too. I live in the Twin Cities in MN and it is pretty rare to see a mask here too (except in any sort of medical / healthcare facility).
I live in the Twin Cities and it's still about 50/50 when I go out with the mask situation. I guess it really depends on where you live and the places you go in the Cities. 🤷🏻♀
I’m from Mexico and I’m alway talking shit about Americans living here and calling it “being expats”. Yet my people are immigrants 😂 anyways I think I might have to start watching UK TikTok’s hahaha!
I think it depends on their visa status. In Europe, you are an expat if you are there on a company visa, usually a short term assignment of a few years. Expats normally have all rent, car, expenses covered by the company and thus have a pretty lucrative deal. If you want to continue living there after an expat stay, you'd need to go on a "local contract" which means you are staying voluntarily and have a permission to work visa. In this case, you are often required to meet certain criteria, pass language tests, show that you are attempting to integrate and are committed to making a life there.
no really why do they hate us so much like what i do to you lmaoooo. also youre allowed to feel sensitive because yes while america is trash it does suck when people say they hate you because you live in a country likeee sis i cant help that.
Time to get a cat to scare away the rats if your apartment management allows it. If not, you can ask friends with cats for some used cat litter (I know, gross) and the scent will help keep the mice/rats away.
Don't worry, plenty of people hate English people too. If it wasn't for Russia, we'd be the most hated people in Europe. In all seriousness though, I think basically what English people don't like isn't just Americans, but a specific type of American tourist that we sometimes encounter, and I promise you that you are not one of those tourists. I also think that because we speak the same language, it's easy to forget that England and America have very different cultures and communication styles. As an English person, I've travelled all over Europe and I've travelled in America, and I think, language aside, that culturally we have much more in common with other countries in northern Europe than we do with America. (Oh, and the whole Queen thing is interesting here. Obviously some people here are monarchists but a large proportion of us aren't - plenty of us think the whole thing is weird and wrong. But I do think that because the Queen's reign was sooooo long, and most of us don't remember any other monarch, it just unsettled a lot of people when she died because it felt like a huge change. It also changes a lot of small but ubiquitous things, like the words of the national anthem, the pictures on our money and stamps etc, and even the names of some government organisations and job titles (eg our most senior lawyers here have been called QCs for their entire careers, and overnight their title changed to KC).
It’ll be sad if you bow out of Vlogmas. I feel like giving up vlogmas content was one of the things that led to YT’s downward spiral as it was a time when we got to know the Yt’ers we followed and adored the best. Personally, vlogmas is my favourite part of YT and it’s sad to see hardly anyone doing it anymore or doing such a pared down version that it doesn’t really feel like vlogmas anyway. I know that’s a decision whereby you have to do what’s best for you but you do a great Vlogmas so I selfishly hope you continue.🥰
I think it’s just sometimes a slight cultural mismatch. Americans can tend to louder and more effusive than Brits or Europeans and Americans sometimes think Brits can be standoffish etc. And I think that can sometimes rub people only because it’s different. And I say this as an Australian living in Asia - where it’s often easy to feel like a fish out of water culturally.
@@maddiev4862 Some Americans can be very entitled and expect everything to be their way. They might expect that everyone should speak or understand English, might want food prepared just like at home, they can be very outspoken that everything different is wrong or weird. People see the USA as a violent and cruel society that doesn't take care of people; school shootings and guns, police brutality, no health care, terrible poverty and homelessness in a supposedly "wealthy" country.
@@wombatnumbat989 some people from Europe are also this way or worse… I don’t hate all of Europe because of that. Also a violent and cruel society??? What? @@maddiev4862 Sure, there are good and bad people and places everywhere. But yes, cruel - no health care, lack of social services; you get cancer and can't afford treatment? Diabetic and can't afford insulin? We have tons of people not getting medical attention or not calling an ambulance or not filling prescriptions because they can't afford it - that's cruelty. We are a rich country, yet have huge homeless and poverty issues. Minimum wage is stagnant, education isn't prioritized. People are in debt forever just to go to college. Too many people can't afford to buy a house or pay their utilities on time. It's a cruel life. Children now are forced to carry a rapist's baby, in many places. Women can be prosecuted for miscarriage. LBGTQ discrimination is okay if it's your "sincerely held religious belief." Utter Cruelty. And violence? You bet Europeans think the USA is violent! Our children get slaughtered in school, repeatedly. Mass shootings at malls, concerts, schools and we still can't/don't do anything about gun control. Our cops kill people with regularity (esp. POC.) What "freedoms" do you think you enjoy that most Europeans don't have?

I find British disdain for Americans extremely ironic... Their country did and continues to proliferate the same terrible global politic... 💀 Are the Tories really so far off from the GOP? Have they given any of the countries their monarchy pillaged back *OUR* artifacts? As an American from a British-colonized country that lost health, culture, art, and prosperity due to colonization (India)... Y'all British that hate Americans are full of it. Maybe start to hold your leadership accountable instead of excusing your country and scapegoating another. Anyway. Just my little rant lol
I was pleasantly excited when you spoke against the Brits talking trash about Americans but then you lost me with your added in explanation. It is totally okay to be turned off from people talking crap about the country you live in. People in the UK don’t live here and don’t know how great it is in so many ways. It’s such a bandwagon response when they all hate here, it’s so lame. So yeah, I get heated over it because the mindset that America sucks while we are the most privileged country in the world is laughable.
Most of us British dislike Americans but its also other countries too so the US isn't on its own. Your the exception we don't hate you 🙂 you are more than welcome anytime. Look forward to your next vlog x

People think you can just move to England on a whim lol 😂 it isn't that easy.
honestly, this video made me feel so seen. from the empty paper towel roll, to the dish filled sink and just talking about things that make you happy. it’s almost like i’ve been guilted into feeling like i have to be perfect all the time and your genuinity in this video was amazing and refreshing
my mom is american and she lives here in england and now she says that she would never go back!
We have mice living in our appartment walls during winter and we can hear them scratch, eat at the wood and sometimes fight lol. We have 3 cats and they go crazy trying to find them whenever they hear them running in the walls eh
I feel you with that paper towel cutting board 😅
Carrie!!!! Not you gaslighting yourself about the rats 😅😅😅😅 omfg I hope this issue fixes itself asap
I did a big catchup yesterday and today and caught up on the vlogs from right after the move until now 😅
We had rats and mice at our apartment u can hear them through the wall and bath tub it’s been nice and quiet now but the landlord has people spray outside I think others called and complained. It use to freak me out
Highly recommend the Tazo Pumpkin Spice Latte concentrate! 🤤
I’ve tried to look through comments for this answer but where is your blue/black top from? Thanks so much. Absolutely love both channels ❤
Everyone not American has strong opinions about 'Americans' but some of my fave personal people are Americans individually, not collectively!
Watching you cut that knife against that paper towel is making my teeth hurt and my arm hairs stand. New sensory issue unlocked.
I married a German so totally feel you about people hating Americans. Mini rant upcoming…
I go Germany once or twice a year and most people are great but ohhhhh boy do people have STRONG negative feelings about America (not my husband of course).
My husband says it’s related to the types of news about America that gets shown there. He also think there’s a “cool” phase happening in Europe right to hate on the US.
Anyways off my soap box. I actually love parts of Germany and have good friends there who are lovely and wonderful. It’s just so much more common there than here to meet rude people who want to dump their own feelings on me.
I'm from Germany, my father is from Texas. I fully agree. Germans are extremely annoying about the US. The superiority complex is unreal.
Hope the rat situation gets solved soon! Have y’all reached back out to the pest control company to see if they can seal up where they are getting into the building? Hearing the wall scratching is the worst!
Why doesn’t drew ever go with you to london
Who says you cant put your vlogs on the same channel as your other content? I think it could be helpful for you to have one channel. You can do both on one lots of youtubers do like Jessica Braun and Taylorwynn for example.
I wish I could move to USA. I don’t like to live in Belgium. But when I’m retired I can do it.
The US is the worst country to move to. As someone from Europe you would freak out believe me!
@@jujubees but is it bad, or is it just culture shock? We definitely have some issues, (looking at you healthcare and abortion rights) I'm not blind to that, but the US is freaking huge and there can be huge differences in things from state to state.
Especially in light of some of the things going on in Europe, like the rise of a lot of far right leaders, I domt think it's fair to say that the US is the worst country to move to.
@@gabriellecress3867 You are right that the US is huge so experiences can vary but the same can be said about Europe. That person is in Belgium where the taxes are high but the healthcare is top notch. As for the rise of far-right leaders in Europe... I mean the US is not better off with the republicans!
@@jujubees your view of America is based on wild news stories. We are people and the majority of us are normal! I’m republican and so are lots of people and we really just want lower taxes. Media makes us out to be crazy but everything here is pretty normal…
You can always visit and see! America is great and so diverse and expansive. People shit on America but it’s a great place with all kinds of opportunities. We aren’t perfect obviously but no where is!!
OMG rat chats, those were the days! I haven't watched the video yet, I hope it's not a big problem.
Rats live and stay outside, mice come inside and can be in your walls. I have had/ have problems with mice for 2 years now, so I know what you're feeling.
I was watching this and when you started talking about ratchats my roommate was like “are watching an old vlog?” 🤣🤣🤣 No unfortunately I’m not.
LITERALLY LOL like is it 2019 again?!
I absolutely LOVE u guys. I’m enjoying living vicariously thru u
Ur vlogs got me started using Oatly milk and crème frais
Good morning happy Tuesday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
The mask situation is totally different in different parts of the US too.
Not me screaming seeing my girl Carrie uploaded a new video 😂😂😅
Also was at a cute boardwalk area in San Diego and they played the 10 minute version of All Too Well
Loving all your fall hot girl vibes babe!!♥♥♥
no really why do they hate us so much like what i do to you lmaoooo. also youre allowed to feel sensitive because yes while america is trash it does suck when people say they hate you because you live in a country likeee sis i cant help that.
If you think it's trash here, you should move to Honduras! Good luck ✌️
@@le4905 um ok?
Time to get a cat to scare away the rats if your apartment management allows it. If not, you can ask friends with cats for some used cat litter (I know, gross) and the scent will help keep the mice/rats away.
She has a cat named Moo
Still masking here in suburban Nashville area and no one else is doing it. We don’t care, would rather stay safe. 😊
California… wouldn’t want to live there! England has to be better!!
Me watching this video very intently while inherently bothered that I’ve never washed a kiwi
and here I was like: WHY ist she washing the Kiwi?!? xD
was looking for this comment! Why would you wash a Kiwi if you don’t eat the skin? 😂
I prefer your vlog channel
Yeah rat noises are a thing.. as long as they stay out of the living area's I'm okay but it still gives goosebumps 😅
I’d quite happily do a house swap with u….btw, Scotland is better than England anyways lol
I love the vlog channel only bc your main channel isn't as relatable for me.❤
It’ll be sad if you bow out of Vlogmas.
I personally like the vlog Channel more I just like the content better
Is Moo not chasing the rodents away?? Does he need to get mouse chasing teacher cat friend?
he does not care at all, he is an unbothered king 😂
he does not care at all, he is an unbothered king 😂
Rats update 😭🥶
wait! you have rats in the new spot WTF!
Americans are pretty seriously disliked in all of Europe and Australia as well! I'm American but I've lived in Europe for 6 years and Australia for 4.
But why? What did Americans do to deserve the hate?
I think it’s just sometimes a slight cultural mismatch. Americans can tend to louder and more effusive than Brits or Europeans and Americans sometimes think Brits can be standoffish etc. And I think that can sometimes rub people only because it’s different. And I say this as an Australian living in Asia - where it’s often easy to feel like a fish out of water culturally.
@@maddiev4862 Some Americans can be very entitled and expect everything to be their way. They might expect that everyone should speak or understand English, might want food prepared just like at home, they can be very outspoken that everything different is wrong or weird. People also dislike some Americans, esp. during the Trump administration.
What? America has its faults but it’s a pretty great place. Also sooo many Americans are actually immigrants. And lots of Europeans come here and love it for the freedoms that Europe doesn’t offer.
POC.) What "freedoms" do you think you enjoy that most Europeans don't have?
this is obviously different because your not a 19 year old boy ahahha! the the sturniolo triplets do there main content on fridays and vlogs on Wednesdays so if you did something like that I think that's how you could still do both types of content but on the same channel! :) just a though :)
Was hoping for arachnochats 🕷 🕸
LOLOL
I was pleasantly excited when you spoke against the Brits talking trash about Americans but then you lost me with your added in explanation. It is totally okay to be turned off from people talking crap about the country you live in. People in the UK don’t live here and don’t know how great it is in so many ways. It’s such a bandwagon response when they all hate here, it’s so lame. So yeah, I get heated over it because the mindset that America sucks while we are the most privileged country in the world is laughable.
There are no rats in alberta, it's a government thing. If you see one, you have to report it.
Most of us British dislike Americans but its also other countries too so the US isn't on its own.
Your the exception we don't hate you 🙂 you are more than welcome anytime.
Look forward to your next vlog x
