This finale was so good and sets up perfectly a Season 2. I really hope that happens because there is so much more great storytelling to be told.I also thought Leslie did a great job with classic Star Wars storytelling. There was quite a a few of it's like poetry, it rhymes moments. There is also a lot of symbolism and mythos incorporated within this show. Season 1 was introducing us to this time period and giving us a story within it that will lead up to the the prequel era. With that said, I think Season 2 will be even more exciting. Let's hope it gets green lit. Enjoyed your discussion once again!❤

I enjoyed the show, yes it had some issues with writing I think, but overall it was a good show. Loved the season finale. I hope there is a season two.
The viewership is off the streaming charts into no-mans land. Biggest IP ever created with the biggest fanbase ever seen and it's being beaten by shows nobody has even heard of. Reality check needed.
God bless the people that like this show.... more power to you. This show was pure garbage. Disney has a fiduciary duty to its share holders to not waste money on a season 2.
@Fedaygin cool man. I'm glad you enjoy the Acolyte. I'll never watch it again and canceled D+. I'll find something that wants to focus on good storytelling like "House of the Dragon". Maybe Disney will sell Star Wars someday, so someone can fix it.
Yeah this is up there as one of my favorite Star Wars live action shows! I loved it! It definitely has some flaws but nothing that really ruins it for me. A season 2 would be great, but it feels like it’s very uncertain at the moment if we will get another season. Sol has become one of my new favorite Star Wars characters! He was a caring man who wanted to do what was right, but he got twisted because of his mistakes. He was going to face the consequences but was told to keep it a secret for the sake of Osha, and keeping that secret all those years tortured him and he just convinced himself that he did the right thing. Just before he dies, it’s hard to hear so you have to listen closely, he tells Osha “It’s ok”, because he loves her and he knows he deserves it. I’m going to miss him if we get a second season 😢
I can’t shake the feeling that this show had actively bad morality. The Sith are glorified and their true nature is never really shown. I’d only want a season 2 if it showed the (pardon the pun) dark side of the dark side. The suffering, the greed, the paranoia and lack of loyalty. Seeing Qimir just flat out betray Osha or vice versa whenever it suits them might be a good wake-up call that the Sith are fundamentally evil people, but this show doesn’t really seem to believe that
Disney has an obligation to shareholders to not spend money on flops and according to Nielsen this is a flop. It is not even charting in the top 10 in any category and giving this a second season is a good way to lose a few points of stock value. The fact remains, no matter how much you personally liked the show is not a reason to give it a second season when the general public quite obviously disliked it.
Hey Giorgosgernas Co-host of the podcast here. That's really interesting. I haven't seen the data myself. I have a question in my mind. Osha and Kamier. Yikes! Why did they trade like this. Now, May made me sad because now her memory was wiped. Now, she was going to court. But I am curious what can happen with Osha and May. Will they find each other again? Also, will they both be in the Dark side both Osha and May? I feel like that we may be losing more if they do season two. And Plegus is also mentioned in books but not in Canon. Yeah! The Shadowy creature was also interesting! You know what was interesting how Kelnaka was controled by the covet and even how later, and Anasaea who became smoke and some others. How interesting!
Yea, id like to see a season 2. But please correct the bad side of the show... (Bad acting from support caracter, lenght, motivation base for some caracter), Q: You seem to agree there is a lie, why? Here's my pov: the sith were numerous, they were exterminated. There is no reason for anyone (jedi) to believe a dark side user would be a sith... Wise yoda know there might be pretender (must), as always. And with two left, hiden, pathetic, extermination was successfull.
I don't thnik this show deserved the review bombing and hate it got especially from diehard starwars fans. If is one thing this show did it expose that yes we can argue and say that Disney is pushing there political agenda into Starwars. But at the same time we have to admit too that they are a lot of Star wars fans who are toxic. A lot of them hated this show because: 1. It had a very diverse cast. 2. It featured a female protagonist and it was produced by a female. 3. It was different from what they were accustomed to. 4. The show seemed to have break legend cannon and as such destroyed a lot of their fanfiction storylines.

So you think this extremely lazy writing is worthy of another 180 million? The character motivations are inconsistent and confused, storytelling was convenient and nonsensical and the dialogue was very cringe and poorly thought out… Only half decent scenes are the fight scene and to be honest although they looked cool, didn’t make sense most of the time. It definitely did not deliver and I wouldn’t sit through another season.
I think it’s fine to not sit through something you don’t like. I really liked it. And I didn’t find the writing lazy - and, in fact, found it on-par with a lot of Star Wars writing - especially GL writing when it came to the Jedi and the force (where the dialogue was always a little bit ~silly~). Personally, I understood a lot of the character motivations, including the reasons to fight. Sorry you didn’t like it. But I did and would love to see more.
@@kryptontoalderaan glad you liked it, I don’t agree though… the storytelling was not thought out very well, it was lazy writing in my opinion… fire that burns down stone and metal structures? Jedi that’s home sick after 7 weeks and runs off to kidnap a child? Why did Torbin poison himself? How many times did Osha and Mae just suddenly change their motives? I could go on, there were so many things that didn’t make sense in this series, I was embarrassed for the writers… if you liked it that’s cool, I just don’t understand how…
It would be super interesting if their fallout cause some kind of rift in the force! Re: The hyperspace disaster, we know the history of it from the High Republic books! All power to anyone who enjoys this show but it cant get a season 2 it financially makes 0 sense. She fought tooth and nail to get Plagueis and Yoda in the final episode, even after getting some “push back” Idk who those valiant souls were who tried to tell her “yea..prob shouldn’t do this” but I commend them Because it did feel like a slap to the face a little bit. Or rather a lot a bit. Cameo’s some of the two most popular characters in Star Wars and doesn’t have them speak a word, let alone get more than 5 seconds of screen time? And for what? The cameos literally did nothing for the plot other than act as dangling keys for a second season to a show that seems narratively incomplete and incompetent 🤷🏾♂️ So yeah, I blame Mrs Headland big time for not trying harder to craft a better Star Wars story.

This show was barely coherent at best and outright incoherent at worst. This is only a story in so far that events occur sequentially. I think one reviewer put it well when he called this show not as having been written, but that words have been assembled. The least damaged character in the show in terms of writing and motivation might actually be Mog...let that sink in. Every other character has something catastrophically wrong with them. The Acolyte is a case study in how not to write. The fact that these scripts weren't incinerated for being that terrible speaks volumes about quality control at Lucasfilm. I am really curious what people in this comment section that liked the Acolyte liked about it because for the life of me, I don't know how anyone can like this unpleasant affront to your sense of taste.
Nope, does not need a second season. It will continue to ruin continuity, it will not be watched. By the time it is finished, Star Wars would also be finished. It practically is anyway. Disney are shameful for ruining Georges legacy. They aren't cliff hangers, they are marketing ploys to keep you watching that make no sense. To be quite honest im tired of always waiting for something to happen, sick of filler episodes. Pretty much sick of Star Wars. I've moved on to Dungeon Crawler Carl and other original untainted media.
Definitely not ruining Star Wars. I liked it quite a bit. I didn’t see it ruin continuity anywhere. And, in fact, thought it honored George Lucas’s vision pretty well. Cliff hangers are marketing ploys to keep you watching… that’s the point… you didn’t like it - that’s fine. I did (that’s also fine).
Why would anyone even finish watching the first season? I made it about three episodes and checked out, the show was absolute garbage... the lead could not act, bad writing, terrible dialogue, crap character development, absolutely nonsensical plotting. Really, nothing good about the show.

What if Plagueis goes after Qimir, not because Qimir is his old apprentice, but a threat to Plagueis and his master Tenebrous? I believe that would be so nice to see. Then we would get a season more focused on the Sith then the Jedi. Something that hasn't happened in any Star Wars show yet!
One of the things that I haven't seen yet, is the KTA discord server. I guess it's on vacation, or something 😂
I would love that too... Following only the Jedi as Venestra chase them down.
Hard. Agree! All around. I think they did a great job touching on classic SW, bringing in old stuff, and making something new. I loved the nuance and the complexity! And the poetry moments!
Can’t wait to see what they do next 🤞🤞
Thanks so much for tuning in and for your support!
@@susanwitkowski5802 they should have set that up episode 1
But who would a second season be *about* ? All the surviving characters (Qimir, Osha, Mae, and even Venestra) are villains.
Mae and Osha story make sense, only don't for people without sense.
I enjoyed the show, yes it had some issues with writing I think, but overall it was a good show. Loved the season finale. I hope there is a season two.
A scraggly bow 😂👍
The viewership is off the streaming charts into no-mans land. Biggest IP ever created with the biggest fanbase ever seen and it's being beaten by shows nobody has even heard of. Reality check needed.
God bless the people that like this show.... more power to you. This show was pure garbage. Disney has a fiduciary duty to its share holders to not waste money on a season 2.
Thank you for the Powah 🙇♂ Enjoy Beautiful The Acolyte S01 via D+ library & good trip to Galaxy Far, Far Away while at it 🙂
@@Fedaygin huh?
@@47Table That what was written ^^ Recommendation for a good wind-down time at evening after day's activities 🙂
I couldn’t agree more! Loved the characters and their journeys and the complexities!
Thank you so so much for this comment!
Man, I am going to miss Sol.
I’m wondering if you thought Andor was good?
We loved Andor! I’m overdue for a rewatch.
-RoyishGoodLooks
Andor was the best so far in a galaxy so far far away they can't see it thur greed. Lukas your my only hope.
Andor is a masterpiece
Hey Giorgosgernas
Co-host of the podcast here.
That's really interesting. I haven't seen the data myself. I do wonder how the performance and the general public's reaction will influence whether or not we get another season.Time will tell!
Perhaps we should have titled the episode more specifically "Here's Why *[We Think]* The Acolyte Deserves a Season 2."
Thanks for tuning in to our show and commenting!

@@RoyishGoodLooksI think the writing is on the wall dude majority of people either hate this shoe or don't care.
@@RoyishGoodLooks Nah title is fine and you are entitled to your opinion ofc, and it was taken as such. Just pointing out that 180 million is too much to spend for the minority of people who like the show. I myself didn't like it but hey, if you enjoyed it good for you! Personally I would rather see some other director take a shot at star wars and if there is a budget for another show I would prefer to see it in the hands of someone other than Headland. Just my opinion.
@@RoyishGoodLooksI haven’t looked at any ratings but I can say that this is the first Star Wars project I actively decided to sit out and many of my friends followed suit. I don’t see how this could have made much money
SW often upset fan. And yes the show had major flaws. But also major hype. Some course correction would be welcome. The installation for a S2 is pretty well set and for sure: I cant resign myself to stick with a Plagueis in the dark (Finally another proper vilain).
Awesome finale!!👍👍👍. Season 2 please...
No thank you for Season 2. Thank you
This show made me cancel disney plus if they were smart they eould drop this.
I want another season so Disney keeps losing money and for the great TH-cam content.
They should definitely do this in the comic books . So much less money wasted and we get the story continuation we want.
Diehard? It got attacked by regular dudes too!
@@TheManInBlueFlames Yeah keep telling yourself that lol
@@TheManInBlueFlamesThere’s a real difference between “disliked” and attacked
To be fair, there is a fifth reason. You don’t have to agree with this, but many people wrote it off because of Headland and her past
This can't be real right? Are you being sarcastic?
Hey David

No, we didn’t record a 30 minute sarcastic review of the series finale.

Definitely doesn't deserve a season 2. IDC what copium you are taking out of the medicine cabinet
A season 2 might bankrupt Lucasfilm you realize that right?
I could go on, there were so many things that didn’t make sense in this series, I was embarrassed for the writers… if you liked it that’s cool, I just don’t understand how…
What if Vernestra and Quimir were the cause of the hyperspace disaster?
It would be super interesting if their fallout cause some kind of rift in the force!
Re: The hyperspace disaster, we know the history of it from the High Republic books! A group of space pirates, called The Nihil, cause a republic ship to crash while in hyperspace. The ship breaks apart and it’s pieces shoot out of hyperspace. One such piece hit and devastated Brendok.
HIGHLY recommend reading The High Republic books if you’d like to learn all about that disaster and that era! I’m a big fan
LOST *was* perfect 😭
All power to anyone who enjoys this show but it cant get a season 2 it financially makes 0 sense. I dont really know how you can say it doesnt mess with the GL Star wars continuity (ep.1-6) its mentioned in 2x in seperate films that the era before the empire rose to power was a time of peace for generations so the premise of this show doesnt make any sense. And i think a lot of long time fans like myself feel extremely disrespected at this point that they think shoving plageuis and yoda in it somehow makes it fit into the timeline….. i dont even blame leslye 100% this had dave’s fingerprints all over it…
No it’s perfectly okay to blame Lesley.
She literally said In an interview this is HER show. She fought tooth and nail to get Plagueis and Yoda in the final episode, even after getting some “push back”
Idk who those valiant souls were who tried to tell her “yea..prob shouldn’t do this” but I commend them
Because it did feel like a slap to the face a little bit. Or rather a lot a bit.
Cameo’s some of the two most popular characters in Star Wars and doesn’t have them speak a word, let alone get more than 5 seconds of screen time?
And for what?
The cameos literally did nothing for the plot other than act as dangling keys for a second season to a show that seems narratively incomplete and incompetent 🤷🏾♂️
So yeah, I blame Mrs Headland big time for not trying harder to craft a better Star Wars story.
@@Lurkai 🤣🤣man idk why she keeps talking in these interviews she has only made herself look worse!! She definitely has a lot of the blame but i still think she is just a symptom not the disease KK and Dave have created this environment. This thing shoulda never got off the ground in the first place, but dave and KK seem hellbent on ruining the continuity in universe
@@danielwilson3225 oh yeah youre definitely speaking facts there my man! It goes all the way to the top when it comes to poor hiring decisions and mismanagement of product
I don’t even blame the actors/actresses, tho Amandla probably should’ve stayed quiet in regards to the racist fan accusations…🤦🏾♂️
@@Lurkai agreed!! Manny jacinto and sol’s actor did the best with what they were given i would love to see them in a competent show. Amandela really stunk it up though lmao thought it was funny she was the one they had fall on the sword and cry unfair criticism when she had easily the TWO worst performances in the show. (Leslye’s wife was just arguably just as bad)
@@danielwilson3225 Yeah, I think Manny and Lee both held great performances for such a poor script.
Honestly the show probably could’ve been somewhat good had they maybe included George on some things….but Leslie literally said “why do we have to wait on George? That’s the patriarchy, that’s the misogyny”
Like…I mean…it’s just asking the literal creator of the franchise youre trying to milk “hey…does this look okay?”
But I guess Leslie and KK are allergic to proofreading and peer review lol
If they do get a second season then more power to them and I hope they do better. Unfortunately I could never shill as hard as the guy in this video or those like Star Wars Explained, who just willingly ignore genuine plot contrivances and inconsistencies…and instead opt to call them quirky or different. Whatever way in which doesn’t make them seem like they are harshly criticizing it
When in reality it’s just giving the show fair and honest feedback. that’s how most things and people improve! Usually anyway…but what do I know, I’m just a casual fan who wrote an episode 0 fanfic for the last 8 years that actually respects the canon and EU canon whilst remaining true to the vision and vibe that is OT and Prequel AND even sequel Star Wars 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
lol i dont think so it was a dumpster fire from the start on all angles no season 2 just like the ray saga best to be forgotten about to time
Oh wow. You’re serious 😂 dude it’s the worst written show ever.
I'm sure it will be gone tomorrmo
Please don’t tell me he called darth plagues darth shadow face keep new star wars fans from creating content about starwars

I used the term Darth Shadow Face only because Plagueis was not officially named during the episode. It was a term of endearment-for fun, we have fun making our podcast.
No Star Wars fan should be kept from talking about the Star Wars they enjoy-new or old.
Have a nice Sunday.

Yeah screw this. They should do a who about how lando got his cape or something. Things real SW fans love 😂
It doesn't. And it should 1000% not get one.
Why would anyone even finish watching the first season? I made it about three episodes and checked out, the show was absolute garbage... the lead could not act, bad writing, terrible dialogue, crap character development, absolutely nonsensical plotting. Really, nothing good about the show.
We got Plagueis at the end at least lol 🤷🏾♂️
The fights were alright.
