No, that's not why it's a masterpiece. At all. It has extremely well written character development and realistic, dark dialogue, all while showcasing people battling against an immensely more powerful and larger foe than themselves: the Empire. If it had had lightsabers and the Force, then so long as the plot creations and character developments were on par with the actual creation they made, it would have been just as good. Saying the existence of Lightsabers or the Force is a basis for content's quality or enjoyability or success is such a dull-witted take and completely detached from any understanding of what the fanbase enjoys. It's an objective fact that the lack of such, actually diminished the show's success, because so much of the fanbase watches Star Wars FOR those two aspects. The number of fans that want SW content exclusive of Jedi/ Sith, Lightsabers/ the Force, make up a small minority of the fanbase, even while many of us can certainly enjoy content showcasing non-force-sensitive storylines.
@@JadusMoltriel well, yes, all part of it not being as immensely puerile as the rest of Star Wars material. Not having the boring 'space magic' to rely on, they needed to create a real drama. I hope this writer/show runner is left unmolested to carry on with this - seems unlikely.
Well, Andor is just as much trouble for killing one security guard as two, so why leave a witness? And the Guards own boss referred to those men as being scum.
Andor is brilliant, it transcends star wars. Even if you don't like any star wars movie or anything star wars, Andor is so good you should still watch it.
The Sequel Trilogy DOES NOT continues the main story... the main story was always about Anakin redemption arc, at least Anakin's redemption was the main story reason to do the prequels... It never was about a Palpatine becoming a Skywalker...
Dude, you cannot claim in one instance that everyone knows what a lightsabler is and has heard, "May the Force by with you,"... Then claim at another instance that nearly all women and girls will say, "What's Star Wars?" 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
U cant make a clame that yhe poworking on this dont know anything about star wars like kyber crystals when they literally brought in cortosis from the legends content
4 minutes scrubbing through and you didn't even start answering the question ... didn't want a history lesson, was there, thanks for nothing, I'm outa here.
Thank you for the input brozay I will make sure to be quicker next video. skip to 5min2sec to hear the reason if you still want to. But you should work on your attention span 4min was all it took for you to lose interest and you were 1min away from the juicier stuff
Dude! Stop going around the bush. You were about to say whay Acolite failed ...and then...talk and talk not going to the point ,you tired me. Just spill the beans, say what you have to say and cut the rethoric🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱
political agendas got nothing to do with it m8. how do you grow a franchise if you already saturated the market or rather certain audience? you look for a new one. just that the new demographic was a poor fit for your product
Its not saturation, otherwise fans wouldn’t want anything to do or watch about Star wars, its the quality of the films and shows, the force awakens is good, the last two are meh with some highlights, Rogue One is top tier as Andor, S1 and 2 of Mando, we were all hyped with kenobi and got back stabbed,at least Skeleton crew is actually good
Damn you make a good point. How is the show saturated though? I definitely agree with you as i said Star Wars has kind of failed in terms of representation and reaching out to attract a more diverse audience would be good. But the show has to deliver and the Acolyte didn't.
@@paulaguilar67 by saturated, i mean there is only so much money an individual person/customer will or can spend on your product. at some point, you have to make the franchise you paid billions for grow in terms of plain number of wallets you can reach into, since that's what investors are looking for. op is absolutely right about star wars being a predominantly male fanbase and also right about the fact that basically every other dude on the planet is at least aware of star wars. it has nothing to do with politics, but with the "untapped female market/demographic". kathleen kennedy has been in hollywood for way too long to let something stupid like politics get in the way of making money. only issue is, she made a really bad call by guessing that expanding the franchise in a "the force is female" direction would facilitate growth in some way. these people throw more money around in a year that we see in our whole lives. if they want to meddle in politics, they can just buy a senator/congresmen or two.
Countless videos on youtube and fans of the show Andor would disagree with you. The Acolyte is canceled and Andor is getting a second season this year in April which many people are excited about. Do your research next time before you come chat to me.
I haven't seen anybody compare these two so it's cool u did it but I know a lot of women who like star wars, and the show was doomed to fail cause people are tired of woke bullshit finding a way to trickle into everything now, especially when it's the main focus over actually making good characters or story
"Andor" is good because it features no Force, and no light sabres.

Andor is good because its gritty. I got a great sense of the extreme danger of setting up a rebellion. Great acting, great script, great ambience. .

I never said that all I said was that the main films are basically repeating the same story about the chosen one narrative.
I didn't see either of them but I saw clips and that was enough to agree with this comparison.
chitty writing vs good writing
Uh, the Star Wars film released in 1977 was called "Star Wars".
If you haven't seen good competent analysis on why Andor is great and Acolyte is bad, you've been living off the grid, sport.
Good video.

no it's just written by people that never cared.
Andor is so ass to me. Acolyte > andor
