I'm a Gen 3 Sub owner and it didn't seem to be worth the upgrade now for future proofing on the back end. I would go for the Gen 4 sub if I wanted to add to a new or existing system.
Hi I am thinking of getting into the Sonos eco system lookin for a home theater system i have a couple thoughts ULTRA ARC + GEN 4 SUB + ERA 100 or ULTRA ARC + GEN 4 SUB + ERA 300 or just the new ARC ULTRA with the ERA 100's with No sub ( not a bass head ) room is 12x12 7.5 foot high ceilings or would a BEAM 2 with MINI SUB and the ERA 100's be a good sounding option ? would i be happy with either one or is one much better than the other ? and why I love watching sports and movies and news thx for your time i look forward to your advice cheers from Canada
@@ministrytech thx for your response will have to get one piece at a time its 3500 canadian i got the BEAM 2 / Sub Mini / ERA 100's for about 1800 total will see how it sounds once it arrives cheers
@@ministrytech ok LOL I sent the BEAM 2 back did not even open the box and ordered the ARC ULTRA i will hook up the sub mini and Era 100's to it will hopefully add something at least to the Arc Ultra
I just Upgraded from Sub Gen 2 received 15% upgrade discount and paid $718. This will go along with Arc Ultra & ERA 100’s. I have an open concept living room therefore ERA 300 were useless along with True Play.
I have a very open great room and went with the Arc Ultra, dual Gen 3 subs, and Fives. I had the Arc at first for a few years and just upgraded to the Ultra (moved Arc to master bedroom to replace Beam Gen 1). The Fives (or the Era 100) are the 99% solution for me because they are a laser beam of surround sound hitting the primary listening position without relying on walls or ceilings. Works for me since I only watch around +/- 30% in Atmos and zero spatial audio.
Seem like minimal advantage to upgrade for sub 3 owners.
I agree, there are no significant improvements yet.

Text is wrong. He got the weights mixed up. The Sub 4 is 11.79 kg, while the Sub 3 is 13.15 kg per the Sonos website.

Hi, I love bass, so I would recommend you to take this option - ULTRA ARC + GEN 4 SUB + ERA 300. I think this will be the top solution for your needs.

I think the 4th generation will be better. This is only a paper comparison, since the 4th is not officially sold yet.
@@ministrytech Same sound specs for both Sub 3 and Sub 4. Only difference is new chipset (WiFi 6).
