    Just need to go the other way now too. High bandwidth mode that spans 2 channels for higher quality. E.g. 1080p60 for the other cameras. Would then have the complete package. Great to see the continued development regardless

    The only thing I wish HDZero had is on-quad recording, like you get with WalkSnail. That would compensate for the breakup while retaining the HD video, without needing an action camera.

    Long range mode looks solid, but would be great if the system could drop the resolution (and maybe also to b/w) automatically when the VLQ drops to 0.

      Agree, I think having an option for automatic switching would be ideal. That way you could opt in to that behavior, or keep things the same as they are today

      That can't be done with HDZero by itself, but you maybe able to use ELRS backpack functionality to achieve that? Would be interesting to implement this on the HDZero goggles...

    Great overview! Just started testing this stuff yesterday!
    Honestly resolution isn’t that important to me, 540 seems perfect honestly, 720 and 1080 doesn’t really help me in any way, I feel 🤷‍♂️ whereas 90Hz DEFINITELY helps me!!! Should flash/build some more 90Hz cameras!
    A 90Hz whoop camera would be amazing!!! The nano camera is WAY too heavy, but great for what it is!
    Would love to see 540 not get scaled to 720, and just be fed RAW, pixel doubled, to display, very curious about that… I assume sparkles will be larger, but I’m curious to try it.

    • @kandredfpv
      @kandredfpv ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not possible with the VTX alone as it is a 1-way comm channel, not 2-way bidirectional like DJI/Walksnail, so no way for receiver to send SNR data back to the transmitter. But they might be able use the ELRS backpack as a back channel to the VTX (via MSP to FC, via ELRS RX) to send the SNR data to do dynamic power output. 🤔

    Do you know if it would be possible for carl to change the static pixels from the "rainbow" multi color to just be black instead? I know bardwell brought this up in a video some time ago but i never heard any response as to if it was possible. Im colorblind and im sure this would make interference much easier to fly through because the actual image wouldnt blend so easily with the static.

  • @CorruptName1
    @CorruptName1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We need a mode for hdzero where instead of the static blocks being random color like analog, the blocks should show the data from the previous successful frame. In other words, if the data is missing for that block, show the last known data. It seems like this would make the image look much cleaner.
    Edit: Would be nice to be able to adjust the threshold for this as well, where you could control the % of data allowed to be missing before the image is lost. EG: 30% would mean that once 30% of the data is missing the image would revert to static looking pixels to let you know you're losing signal.

    • @Inertia888
      @Inertia888 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For some people, that might be helpful. For you, it would be a benefit. But for me, I find that the sparkles are something that my brain leans to ignore, and I am able to see through them, kind of. But if previous data was displayed in place of the rainbow sparkles, I have a felling it would throw me off, and make it more difficult to respond to what is actually in front of my camera. (I fly a lot of fast proximity stuff - I can see how flying at altitude, or in open environments, your idea may be a more pleasant flight experience) I love your idea of being able to adjust to taste. If that were to become possible, we could have an on/off to tell the system to either show sparkles, or show previous data, if (on) then: adjust %.
      This is probably my favorite part about HDZero. There are so many thinkers, and problem solvers in the community.

      Lowband is in the Utilities section of HdZero's Firmware Page. Same as the 1-Watt Unlock. Same procedure. Load the Lowband Unlock firmware, power cycle the VTX, then load the regular VTX firmware. If you're looking for more detailed instructions, you can find them in HDZero Wiki. (don't forget to use a fan), while VTX is powered on the bench, it will get hot.

    That looks like a super feature for the LR guys. Though there is not much penetration difference btw 60 and 90fps. Hopefully 540p90 on Low band will be ok for the bando. Specially after the new 1W VTX teaser
    Maybe it would be also worth looking into combining two channels to get more data throughput. I'm quite sure I heard an interview where Carl talked about that.
