Thanks Ryan, it's pretty exciting times, there is a lot of good things coming out in fpv, I just hope we can keep flying freely. It is really helpful I'm sure to many of us who are new to hd zero to have these down to earth simple videos explaining the features and what is compatible.
Super helpful video. Getting my hdzeros and then finding out i need to power them, add analog adapter, analog module and a bunch of antennas. You present things in a calm and understandable manner too. Super helpful, thank you
@@RyanQuellet Ryan! I dont know who to ask for advice I went with the batteries you recommended (21700 LI-ON 4800mAh 2S 7.4v DC5.21 for FPV Goggles) I have the 608AC smart charger But upon connecting either of my batteries to the charger, they both show the first cell severely under voltaged 1st cell 2V 2nd cell 4.5V And whenever i try to charge with the balance cable connected my charger says chemistry error or abnormal cells voltage I really dont know what to do or who to ask
@Lurpi confirm if this charger properly balances other batteries. If it does, then dispose of the 21700 2s pack, it is dangerous to keep. Sometimes batteries go bad, even right away. Buy a other one and carefully watch it balance charge
Appreciate the breakdown! The analog audio with digital video is exciting. I am really into ground vehicle fpv. I have a Slash 4x4 with a 3-axis action cam gimbal to stabilize the analog feed from the Phoenix2/akk race ranger and a little Losi Mini-B simple setup. I have been following hdzero because of the fixed/low latency. Variable latency in a high speed r/c buggy is not what I want... but I was worried about audio setup with the new systems. It is very helpful to hear the tires skidding or spinning. I am planning a 1/5th scale build with a 3d printed gimbal, I am sold now that hdzero is the way to go. Cheers!
Have a solution/work-around for live audio is so nice. I hope a lot of people give it a try, because there's so much feedback you give up by having no audio. You can hear issues with a tune, bent props, tire slip. Who would play a video game with no audio?
Killing it with the content recently Ryan! 🤘 Want to watch this at home on a big screen and I'm out and about at the moment but just wanted to say thanks 👊
Can confirm the 2S-3000mah GNB goggle batteries (that have both XT30 and barrel plug) can power the HDZ Goggles, but not for very long. I got maybe 20min out of it before the goggles started chirping at me. Going to need to go bigger! Have you done much testing with regard to using larger 2S packs versus smaller 4-5S packs? Home testing I have just used a 4S-16,000 but naturally not going to haul that brick around with me lol.
having the mic and video out is pretty awesome. Had to jump on the goggles 2 but would really want to see what the hd zero goggles feel like. Tbh I had a bad experience with my HD zero module.. Hey Ryan I'm super excited to get the hdzero goggles, but I've got a question for you I run the cobra x so I can wear my glasses having an astigmatism and all. Can you go over what is needed to get the lense inserts for the hdzero goggles, as I'm hoping to get everything done at once if able.
To correct for astigmatism, you'll have to make prescription diopter inserts. The CAD files you'll need to show the optometrist are on Github. People are working through this process right now and I'll share their findings
@ 5:09 you say "it can be better to mix left and right hand antenna's on the receivers".....but then right after you say "but in general, it doesn't help, and don't do it." Thanks for all the info, Ryan . Currently still running sharkbyte 0n Hd3. I'm looking at these for my next major expense. Is the pin arrangement for the analog module standard,ie, can I use my True3d?
Yes, the analog module adapter uses the standard goggle module pinout. It works with all analog modules that have buttons on them to change channels (the goggles can't control the module)
