You can buy the Crash Bandicoot games on PS Store, and you could actually play them with a good wireless controller, on a great console. You don't need a retro console. Also Resident Evil 1. There are alot of PS1 games on the PS Store, and they all are remastered.

Basically, we had the most technically advanced polymer bank notes in the world, until Canada one-upped us, so now we're pulling ahead again. Plus, adding bumps so blind people can be more sure which note they're holding (though ours did each have distinctive sizes and thicknesses, already. You can actually tell which notes you're touching by the texture).
Omg, someone actually wrote something in this entire comments section I agree with. Bleemsync 1.0 + retroarch makes this system wonderful. It plays mortal kombat 1 (arcade) at full frames (retroarch with mame2003-0.78 romset). That's quite impressive. I use that as an initial kind of 'benchmark' for various platforms, like raspi (with retropie). It struggled to play dreamcast (reicast), but it has played all psx games very well so far. Bleemsync is so great, it allows you to seamlessly add to the 20 pre-loaded games, so the carousel is gigantic. I was able to get a Cruzer Ultra 128 GB flash drive to work (but you need an insignia 4 port hub). I suspect you could use giant hard drives also-as long as you used the hub. I played Parappa today, that is such a cute game wow!

correct. No adaptor for the no adaptor included in the Australian version of NES mini. AND the Japanese version of SNES mini also does not come with a power brick.
Actually I have an interesting threesome set up... because I have my SNES Classic fed off a USB port on my 360, and my Classic is also modded with, amongst other things, a full size USB port on the back which connects to the power port activating OTG... basically it's like that right angle OTG dongle people are using to plug a pendrive in the back, but permanently as a part of the console (actually, a piece of the motherboard is cut away and the USB port added and soldered to the motherboard). This USB port has permanent power, so I use that port to charge my 8BitDo controller and my PSP, as I have enough with the internal flash of the Classic as if for my needs so no pendrive plugged in now... but when I am charging the PSP, I have Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony all connected together in some weird power orgy!! xdd

Honestly just wait for people to hack it just like the NES and SNES were. It will be greatly improved and you can source roms for it easily. A little disclaimer though i do not recommend just downloading, If you have original disks you can easily get the img off it and use hacking tools to load it onto the storage of the system. Benefits of doing this include being able to use a USB dual shock. making the thing into a media station and various other things.
Xmas will come and go. You only have a finite number of holidays with your father. If you're going to spend $100 on him anyway I suggest you give it to him to create the memory even if he played it once and leaves it on a shelf. You only get one dad and someday he will be gone. Merry Christmas

Alright I bit and bought one now that is cheap. Paid brand new $58.99. Ok out of the box NOT GOOD. After hacking with Bleem... FREAKING AWESOME. Not hard at all to hack either. Can also play 2 players with USB Hub. I actually have used this more than any other classic system I have.

The mini-classics don't have the internal space for a disk/cartridge drive. They are pretty much emulators running on a tiny circuit board and some storage space. So think of them as tiny versions of your desktop/laptop with an emulator loaded (but you can do more with your Pc than your mini-console)? As far as I know, nobody has tried adding a hard drive to the mini-classics, although it is theoretically possible, if someone could possible hack or mod the mini-console?

Sony already has perfectly good emulating software. I've been playing FFVII on my PS3. If there are any issues, I haven't noticed them.
Why in the blazes didn't they use that same software on this mini classic?
the ps classic has the PAL games that run at 50 fps or 28 fps instead of 60/30 fps IDEK why

The craziest part about the Playstation Classic is the price. For this poor quality, it should only cost maybe $30.00 or so.

I had it preordered but decided to cancel it based on the horrible reviews it’s been getting.
I cancelled mine as well. I cancelled it once I saw the included games. After that, the reviews started and I have no regrets cancelling.

Honestly just wait for people to hack it just like the NES and SNES were. It will be greatly improved and you can source roms for it easily. A little disclaimer though i do not recommend just downloading, If you have original disks you can easily get the img off it and use hacking tools to load it onto the storage of the system. Benefits of doing this include being able to use a USB dual shock. making the thing into a media station and various other things.
Xmas will come and go. You only have a finite number of holidays with your father. If you're going to spend $100 on him anyway I suggest you give it to him to create the memory even if he played it once and leaves it on a shelf. You only get one dad and someday he will be gone. Merry Christmas
You could buy a broken ps1 throw it's guts in the garbage and put a raspberry pi in it that's what I plan on eventually doing
Just get your dad Red Dead Redemption 2! He'll love you for it! My dad (57) is able to play it moderately well considering he's never gamed before! {the slow game mechanics do him justice}

I guess this is more as nostalgia but since I never had any of the consoles before the ps4, they also mean nothing to me. Much prefer to buy new consoles for the graphics and performance. Shame they bitched it to this extent

It just didn't sell, so they had no choice but to drop the price. I paid $40 for mine as well and I think it was worth it. Would never pay $100 for it.

Alright I bit and bought one now that is cheap. Paid brand new $58.99. Ok out of the box NOT GOOD. After hacking with Bleem... FREAKING AWESOME. Not hard at all to hack either. Can also play 2 players with USB Hub. I actually have used this more than any other classic system I have.
You may be enjoying it more than your other consoles but it’s nit Sony who made it enjoyable; it was you.

The mini-classics don't have the internal space for a disk/cartridge drive. They are pretty much emulators running on a tiny circuit board and some storage space. So think of them as tiny versions of your desktop/laptop with an emulator loaded (but you can do more with your Pc than your mini-console)? As far as I know, nobody has tried adding a hard drive to the mini-classics, although it is theoretically possible, if someone could possible hack or mod the mini-console?
