And finally, Jhin without his mask is apparently such an unremarkable dude that he can effortlessly disappear into a crowd simply by taking off his costume and mask, which is pretty ironic considering everything else.
on top of this he despises this face so much that he goes through painstaking efforts to ensure that he never is unmasked. The mask itself is not to hide and his name is actually his stage name when he was a performer. His identity is known and he isn't hiding. This is meant to be his true self. He deeply and truly believes in all he does. Its the reason he is so enthralling despite being one of the creepiest and terrible characters, his deep belief makes him charismatic and makes you side with him after a while. This is enhanced by the fact that hes not real so the lack of moral attachment loosens a persons resistance. But jhin was incredibly well done and portrays a scary reality that if he was real there would actually be people who support him. And it could be anyone, and its why serial killers in real life often don't appear on tv.
@@SH1NK1R01 Jhin is definitely a lovely showing of someone who believes in what they do despite is being completely against what the rest of the world can accept. Its not just serial killers that have this kind of mindset. I think we can all think of the difference between a "good" priest and one who believes they are good. The same force of character and conviction lives within both and yet they have taken such different paths. Jhin is the passionate artist but his medium is death. Somewhere along the way he went against the worlds common ways but it begs the question of what is truly good, what is beautiful. If everyone agreed with Jhin and went down the same path would he not be correct? He doesn't bring with him any answers, only questions.
Jhin is considered by many to be Riot's peak character design both in theme and gameplay, and god damn is he fun to play Also, in what you mentioned about his mask, he literally goes so out of his way to avoid simetry that one of the eyes is blocked and he can barely breathe in it, but he likes it cause its dramatic af. Also you gotta listen to Aatrox and Pantheon voicelines, some of the best
he don't use it to avoid symetru he use it cause he hate his face as he is too normal and he he remove his eye from the euqtion to remove perspective to aim and to see the world diffrently
When Jhin first got teasered and one of the only things we had was his trailer video it was mindblowing. Everyone wanted to know more. Such a cool and artistic character.
When Jhin was being teased, every day there was an image released which depicted a chap dying in a more personal manner. For example, Sona was shot in the neck. Four images were revealed and when placed next to each other, you could see one streak - one bullet killing all four.
Back then there was also theory that Kindred and Jhin are so similar, that they could be the same person. Also during game Lamb hums and signs just as Jhin does. So there is also another assumption, by that Jhin is so close to death and obsessed over it he can hear Lamb (which is ironic, since Lamb is all about peaceful death, but yet again that is how Jhin sees his work). Lamb also ask question to the wolf "I wonder how do they see me?" just as Jhin does. So it could be overall, that he embrace in some kind this aspect of death. Btw anybody that reads this, have awesome day and remember that you are awesome. ;D
I heard the theory that he caught a glimpse of Lamb during his first kill or something like that, and it drove him to chase that beauty, killing again and again to draw Kindred out.
Jhin hates his own face because it is so average and symmetrical, but it makes it possible for him to just blend in. Also, Jhin is obsessed with the number 4, even writing "Jhin" kinda forms a 4 on the keyboard.
Also, about symmetry in art. One of the tips you typically get from one artist to another, especially as a character designer, is to avoid symmetry specifically because people tend to default to symmetrical designs, which looks nice, but can make everything homogeneous and repetitive, and often unrealistic. It’s really one of those things where you take a contrarian route in order to make something stand out on purpose. So Jhin disliking symmetry actually makes a lot sense as he’s a snobby artist himself who considers himself to be above such typical lay man’s aesthetics. He doesn’t like people who look conventionally beautiful either, if their features are ‘too’ perfect. (And then he’ll turn their face into a meat flower or something just because)
I will say, Jhin was my main for a long time. In a game where everything is lightning quick, Jhin was built to take his time with every. Single. Shot. Because of that you can't help but *feel* every single line of dialogue. Somehow, that along with how much impact his attacks pack, made me feel in awe every time I played him. *It's like the Joker. Everything he does he carries in it so much flair and excitement that you can't help feeling a rush when you watch him, or in this case, play him* XD
God jhins early can be so painful when you have to wait half an hour between each shot, and then late game arrives and all of your shots do half the enemies life while you run at 600ms Truly a great climax for his opera
idk if someone mentioned it but the reason for Jhin's nervousness and obsession with perfection is that Jhin has pretty specific and extreme OCD. His OCD relates to his "art" and the number 4. So he actually does have anxiety about his performances, and truly believes they need to be performed (tho he does also enjoy it, obviously) The 4 bit is interesting: - He has a gun with 4 shots - a grenade that bounces 4 times before exploding - 4 cuts on his mask - 4 big sniper shots - only 4 fingers of his hand are explosed, the hidden one being his trigger finger - 4 stripes on his shoulder mound - 4 victims in every city before he moves to a new one - he cleans his gun exactly 4 times every time he cleans it, and a bunch more. so needless to say his obsession runs deep
There are certain champions you can tell they put alot of time into them. Jhin is one of them. He is a top 3 most played champs for me and his gameplay design and character are sick.
I wanna talk about the symmetry part a lil bit. Jhin is talking about symmetry in an artists eyes. In art you can see that a lot of people stay away or try to avoid too much symmetry because yes it can make an artwork boring and weird in a sense. As an artist myself, i truly agree woth jhin and i hate symmetry lmao.
Your interpretation of Jhin is SPOT. ON. He views murder as a medium for art. Every single kill he makes, he puts painstaking effort into making it "perfect", from the position in which the body falls to the placement of the bullet, to who notices the body first.
Just gonna drop this one here (as a Jhin enthusiast) - Jhin seems to suffer from both OCD and self-loathing, the latter being one of the reasons he wears a mask, his face is described as very symmetrical, a feature he despises.
There's a whole host of Jhin's dark cosmic skin voice lines that are amazing as well. Its voiced by the same actor and really leaves you feeling involved with the champion.
I love that you're taking these voice lines from the channel 'Just Another Nobody'. They always set the tone and weave the voice lines into a story each chance they get. It's one of the many reasons I keep coming back to their channel. Keep up the good work, and I hope you continue to enjoy what LoL has to offer.
I fell in love with Jhin in 2017 who became my first official main. He’s the reason I’m an ADC and probably even love League of Legends as a whole. If Jhin didn’t exist I wonder if I would’ve stopped playing the game. I liked Jhin back when he wasn’t even remotely popular and was considered the “hardest” ADC to master; before allies could even apply his W. Made me want to play him even more and master him even more. Jhin’s character effected my personality. He was on my wallpapers, I quoted him in my regular speech, I still do his little evil chuckle to this day, I listened, loved, and knew all his quotes, all his special interaction for each skin, I watched all the info on him- learned as much as I could of him. 700,000K Mastery Points in him- almost 1,000,000MP. Jhin became a BIG, BIG part of my life. He was my secret little love that no one knew about because practically no one around me played League of Legends. However… Now… I have this hate for him… I don’t enjoy it… But I can’t stand Jhin now. However, at the same time… I still have feelings for him as a character. I had mastered Jhin to the point where I would just win all my games because I knew how to play him so well because Jhin was MY champ. He was MY main. I wanted to *master* him. *Become* him. It started to become boring honestly and I started trying other champs. Started playing him less and less, unless I was in a “Jhin mood.” I can’t exactly remember what happened but I feel that when he became mainstream and EVERYBODY started to just *suck his dick-* he was the League mascot for a bit; everyone praised him like a god: that all effected me. He wasn’t my secret little main anymore. But I accepted that as the love he was getting was justified. Actually, I think it was the start of whatever season, maybe 10, that brought mythics into the game that might have been the start of the slow death and now sad filled hate but, still, love I have for him. I branched out away from him and lost my immaculate godlike Jhin skills. It would have to take me a lot of time and a lot of horrible loses and realizations of how I’ve fallen with Jhin to get back to that point I was previously. I think that all affected me too. Then… Aphelios came out. The champ was EXTREMELY intriguing in the beginning. Another insanely difficult champion to master. That desire came back. I started to do what I did with Jhin to Aphelios and now I’m deeply, *deeply* in love with Aphelios. His lore, his sisters quotes and their significance, his guns, his character, his theme, how he looks, how he moves; HIS ANIMATIONS. AH. I love it all. I love Aphelios. But now, when I see Jhin. It’s like looking at an Ex you went *very* far with. How could someone like *me,* with the *things* I went through with *Jhin,* with how much he *affected* me as a person, with how much *love* had for him. How could I *hate* him now… Why can’t I feel anything for him anymore. ………… I just can’t do Jhin anymore. This has been burdening me for quite some time now. And I’m reminded of all of this gut wrenching misery and pain *every time* I see praise for Jhin. It really sucks……… But I can’t help it. Thank you Jhin for being a part of my life. Sorry guys, just had to get this off my chest into this girls comment section. I like her. She’s not a poser. I can tell she *genuinely* cares and is *genuinely* interested about League content and lore. I love that.
Before you read Jhin's comic (which actually is Zed's), you should at least look out for some info about Zed and Shen, who are the two main protagonists of that comic, while Jhin being the antagonist. Amazing reaction as always! looking forward for your next reactions
The little bios you see on the game client is a very shortened version, if you go to the league universe page you will find complete information on the champions, short stories, etc
So many champs have amazing voicelines to listen to. Pyke, Aatrox, Pantheon, mordekaiser. I'd love to see you take in the lore and lines for all of these, as well as the legends of runeterra card interactions! But it's just a joy to watch your journey through the lore. 🖤
You should also check out Aatrox if you have time to do so. His voicelines are very interesting to say the least. Also his teaser and theme are really cool. For the voicelines I’d recommend SkinSpotlights channel, as they make very good videos on that!
Probably my second favourite champion only behind Tresh, and one thing I appreciate about this video is how it makes me appreciate the duality of playing with and against Jhin, while if you play against Jhin you'll see of he slowly yet inebitability on how is he going to kill you, It may need a lot of setup... But it serves to ensure the drama. While if you play as Jhin, EVERY LIGHT IN THE STAGE IS POINTING AT YOU! You'll be preparing every little shot to make the big one shine! And things like the Ulti's music goes from a dangerous tone that screams "Run!" To everyone who is ahead of him. To the moment where you... Shine.
"i think thats because he feels nothing". As a jhin main, you've misinterpretted him. "i want to feel everything" is the expression of wanting to truly envelop one's self in the experience, as an artist myself i understand exactly what he means, its the "leading others to a gift you cannot posses" type of scenario, where their experience is somewhat different to yours, they who do not know the "trick behind the magic" vs you whose perspective is spoiled by the knowledge of having being the one to orchestrate the art, its the kind of thing you only understand when you take a look at it from his angle, you absolutely MUST be able to take the stance of the person carrying out the acts he does rather than take the stance of someone viewing his work to actually see the many reasons its "beauty" to him. In a technical sense as well what he is doing IS art. its similar to the way you have books titled "The art of war", its in a difference sense somewhat, but what to you might seem like madness, is something that has a method to it, and things such as this are often described as art especially when they are done from that perspective. In Jhin's case, as an artist myself i'll tell you, he isnt wrong, yes he IS committing murder, but art is usually a very elusive topic in and of itself, so he does take responsibility for his actions, but in his own way. Whether what he is doing is right, wrong, good or evil....none of that is relevant, He is not a man that aligns with any of those perspectives, not in his intentions, he lives simply as an artist making use of he considers to be his media, Fear, death, the darker emotions you tuck away in your mind, he's like a marilyn manson, the things you dont want to question, he questions, and makes you ask, that is the nature of his work. "My art asks questions, it never has answers." These are his intentions. If you think about it from the perspective of the typical image of a sane person, everything he does will fly over your head as well as the reasoning behind every action. "Murder" vs "Killing with finesse", the types of things that seperates a beast from a warrior, A hooligan from an anarchist, a psychopath from an artist. Jhin lives within that grey zone of "how far is too far" constantly pushign the boundaries by the STANDARDS of a world such as runeterra and its cosmos, one that has far more twisted and "evil" things to offer than him, he simply takes already existing aspects and gives them composition, shape, form, meaning, a melody, Artistic value. This is why he says "My theatre, is the mind". He doesnt believe he is evil, and indeed, has himself stated this. He truly views what he is doing as art, because for him, he is playing by his own rules, it is for the same reason that when he dies he laughs maniacally, he truly believes in this, and when someone is that much into their work to the point that they can actually make sense of what to other people is madness, that is when you have to stop and ask "is this art?" At the end of the day its extremely tricky and a constantly evolving aspect of art to never have one stagnant definition, but one integral point is that beyond just the perception, is standards, and Jhin is a man of standard, he isnt just Killing, He's killing to a rhythm, with purpose and deeper understanding of it, even if to many that is twisted, its like he says, all "artists" are mad, and there is alot of merit to that line, because in a sense he's right to an extent, in order to TRULY grasp the fabric of the types of things some artists talk about, you have to be what society would deem "insane", jhin is simply antagonizing a system that does not serve his ideals in his actions, its what alot of artists do intentionally or not when they have a point to make that society is not ready to hear, thats why no matter how you judge him, Thats jhin, he's an artist, you can criticize his choice in medium, but you'd probably view it as art if all he did was draw everything he did. But art has never been something to respect limits or boundaries, Neither does jhin, he can be reasonable with people, but his art will do what it does regardless. This is what jhin means when he says he wants to feel everything, he wants to experience all of that explained above, in his work, not just from his own understanding but from every perspective, the moment he pulls the trigger, the emotions felt by the audience and how it mixes into his own view of his work, all of it.
I almost wish there was someone reacting with you during these videos to affirm your theories and questions- they're SO good!! All the questions and comments you make are so insightful.
One thing with Jhin is that his murders are LITERALLY artistic. His bullets are magical and they carve his victims bodies into flowers and shapes. They then "censor" them with magic, so that they look beautiful, until you walk too closely and see the real horror. It is extremely terrifying and dramatic.
Ajaja I can't believe, I just found your channel today and you upload a new video! I really love this videos in particular about a champion and their voicelines! Pls do one for tahm kench or aurelion sol! They are the most chatty champs out there xD
yaaaaay thats awesome hehe :) I am really enjoying this series so I am glad you are too! :) I deffo have them on my list, especially aurelion sol, they are so coool!
@@tommytommy7535 Oooh swain is cool too, the cuning general of a terrific empire with the power of the demon king of secrets. Also his dialogues are top notch.
Jhin is a human, born in Ionia, his eyes are not the same color and yes, he is in love with art and performance.. And His power is... hmmm.. let us start from the beginning.. The Land of Ionia. In the video where Akali and Shen stop "shrine guardian" from killing a noxxian kid, that collected the wood.. And as Akali said- "you hurt this land- it will hurt you back".. Ionia is all about the "balance" in life and death, harmony etc.. Even killing others on this land can get you or your closest people dead because of its rules to bring balance. But usually Ionians "bring" this balance themself if such things happen for they don't want to disturb the land (that's why "ninja" clans/ schools etc out there fighting sometimes, or work together to stop those who can "destroy" the balance.), most powers in Ionia are granted to those who BeLIEVE in balance and follows it's "rules".. (like Shen has "super" abilities like teleports, wielding of spiritual weapons, "super"-mega-vision of life aka "see as I see" etc, and akali can barely summon water, cause she is yet to start following those "rules" and believes as a student of Shen). But... These rules of Ionia for some reason didn't apply to Jhin. He can Kill/ Explode anything he wants without any consequences. No shrine guardian will attack him if he decides to cut the tree.. No spirit or "godly" creature would harm him, as if he never "tipped the scales" of balance. That's why he says 23:28 "I envy silence, because I must be loud.." or yes, been nervous before every performance. As if he wants the Ionia as a "breathing/living" land to "see" him, maybe "punish" him, and he waits for it s badly that he thinks it will happen any moment. "I swear each performance is the last, but I lie every time." but it never happens.. And he started quite a "show" in Ionia without any consequences that's when people gave him the name- "The Golden demon" and they really thought that he is a demon and a lot of people started to think of him as an Ionian demon- a natural force that punishes some1 for something, just like this "Shrine guardian", that's why he "brings smiles", "death" and "both".. But when he was captured, when higher-ups understood that he is just a human, they closed him in the prison "for demons", cause even the fact of his existence could endanger Ionia itself, all their human spiritual beliefs etc.. But he got released by some1 to "fight noxxians", during Noxxian invasion.. and with a new ally, who provided special bullets that turn the victims into "flowery"-abstract-half-human mess, weapons, information, and money needed for his "art" and "performances" Jhin became a nearly unstoppable force. +he ofc decided to return the favor to those who captured him.. Shen and Zed have PSD after he came and paid them a visit... and orchestrated everything so they nearly killed each other while trying to stop him. (And even tho they stopped him and captured him yet again- we all know that he will be free in no time yet again, cause of his "sponsor")
The video missed one of my favourite voice lines: "The essence of a thing, is found only in its absence" You gotta do Aurelion Sol next, also his interactions in Legends of Runterra are worth hearing, but you could make a separate video about that. Card i teractions in videos are seperated by expantions
If you want a character with a bit more emotional lines Aatrox and his voice lines give an interesting look on immortality, as he is a hero who’s fall from grace has left him wanting nothing more than to be able to die, Volibear’s voicelines and his interactions with his older brother Ornn and his sister Anivia make you see more to the Freljordian War God than what’s just beyond his tough exterior
very good analysis there, that lotus flower part is interesting, you mention him being like a guide to death, and oddly enough, there was a theory when kindred came out that the pale man and jhin were connected somehow. I don't see redemption in him either, he is too far gone in his own twisted thoughts of beauty and what not. Jhin appears in the Zed's comic if you are interested, or check Ionia still stands from shambits gaming for more Ionia lore :D Also, Aatrox or Aurelion Voicelines next! Although for Aatrox Idk which channel would be better, the one you've been using is good for the ambient music and the selected quotes for each champion, but Aatrox might have interesting interactions with other champions so the channel that you used for fiddlesticks could be cool too, but honestly I'd prefer the quotes with ambient music option for him, maybe for champions like Swain, the interactions option is better
Ah Jhin, the man himself. Easily my most played and one of my most favorite Champs in LoL. Everything from his visuals, to his gameplay, lore and voicelines is just perfect.
phantom of the opera meets hannibal is such a brilliant description of jhin. jhin is often referred to as the most "perfect" league champ because his lore and theme match him and his gameplay so well. I dont even play jhin but i very much agree that jhin is quite possibly the best revealed and most accurately themed champ league has ever created.
If you want someone with true egotism... Look to Aurelion Sol. I mean, he DID create the galaxy, the stars, everything... But his ego is... Jegus. He also has a line for almost every character in the game. Even Jinx/Powder, Vi, and so on.
I'm sorry if I missed it but here's a fun fact that makes Jhin even more "scary": He is so much addicted to flowers (because this is the way he sees his own art), that he usually mutilate their victims to the form of a rose. In the lore that's how people recognized it was Jhin, who committed a murder.
I feel like the movie ‘the house that Jack built’ may have served as some inspiration fro Jhin. He has a lot in common with the titular Jack, both being arrogant sociopaths who justify their kills as art projects, and have a fascination with night power rifles. There’s a scene in that movie where the killer captures a group of people and tries to line them up in a row so he can try to headshot them all with a single penetrating round. That’s totally the sort of thing Jhin would want to do.
As for the lotus symbolism, Jhin IS the lotus, the flower that bloomed from the mud and that which was reborn. He was at the lowest point of his life, rotting in a prison when he was freed, given a gun and a purpose. And since he sees his killings as high art, there is no wonder he'd pick this kind of symbolism, given how stark the contrast between his life before and after is (for him).
I've mentioned them before but Aatrox and Pantheon are some very good voice lines for lore and just emotional depths. One being essentially a fallen angel who just wants to die but can't and the other a man who basically personifies humanities will to fight and stand up for itself. Warwick may also interest you as a fan of arcane due to his voice lines with Jinx and Vi that might get your season 2 theory brain going haywaire
I only recently realized why I love jhins voice Every time he speaks, just a little bit of "casual theater teacher fussing at the kids voice" tinges his voice He just sounds so normal and believable when he speaks casually
There's somethings you learn when participating in any live performance (or any performance in general), you may be the most shy and introverted person when out of character, but if the performance requires you to be the most charismatic person in the room, you have to be that fore everybody else; also, no matter how much self-confidence, talent and experience you have doing the performance, the nerviousness before the play is always there, even if you have been doing this for decades. All this is in relation to Jhin, because he see his job as a hitman as a performance of the highest kind of arts, and it shows that in a lot of his voicelines.
a very interessting Thing, (that only heard about), is the in the game, when jhin talks u can hear that background music if u play him, but if u just walk past him and he talks, u cant hear any music. so Actually the music is playing in his head, that is how he hears himself. The music IS in his Head. If u can i highly recommend Aatrox voicelines. also by anothernobody. Aatrox is interessting because u not only undertstand his story through his voicelines, but also u can hear, his sadness and his broken soul in his voice.
With the trailer with Jhin staring. it is rumoured that is howJhin perceives each death but also Jhin weaves illusion magic into his bullets that cause those flowers to appear and when the spell is broken you see the grisly results
"we don't have a personification of death but we do have serial killers." Fun fact, Jhin and Kindred share a voice line. They hum the same tune. They both believe they give meaning to a person's life in their death. Either he is arrogant enough to believe he embodies death as Kindred does, or... And its just a fan theory that went around a bit... Jhin is the Grey Man who becomes Kindred. Grey Man does mean a person who blends in as well, which Jhin can do when he removes his mask.
Like most Ionians, Jhin is adept at using magic, but instead of using it to reshape the land, he uses it on his victims with his weapons as a conduit for his power. So, when he shoots someone, or ensnare them in his traps, he literally warps their bodies and makes them bloom like meat flowers.
He is a combination of Phantom of the Opera and V for Vendetta with a little bit of Andy Warhol. He's an art snob that everyone doesn't seem to want to punch in the face. Lol
Something that I didn't see mentioned is that he is obsessed with the number 4 Everything about him comes in 4s Also totally listen to pantheon and aatrox they are phenomenal
if i remember right, they did look at who he was under the mask, but they still dont know who he was or his past. he wouldnt answer anything and gave them no information other than what he wanted. so all in all, who he really is, is still a mystery to everyone. all we know for certain is that hes from ionia. oh and one cool thing about his killings and the art. everyone sees the bodies the way that beginning teaser showed. like crazy twisted artwork. but as soon as its touched, the illusion goes away and you can see what he really does to the bodies. for example, if it looks like a twisted tree and a person all gold and magical, once you touch it everyone sees that the branches are really just broken ribs and skin, and its just a butchered corpse twisted into whatever shape the art was in.
About symmetry, the most beautiful things usually is not perfectly symmetrical, but deviating from perfection just for a right amount. Perfectly symmetrical face will look very creepy for us
Jhin reminds me a bit of Bondrewd from Made in Abyss. They are not just evil. They are so far gone, that they can't percieve the world for what it is anymore, only through the tiny lense of their madness. It has a certain purity to it, that's why they are so fascinating. Their characters are a deconstruction of humanity. No human could actually think that way without knowing deep down that it's wrong. Empathy should be an inseperable part of the human nature, even if you reserve it for just one person. But interestingly enough people like that do exist and they are textbook examples of that. They are so sociopathic, they don't even know that they are evil. Unlike Jinx for example, who knows love, hate, empathy and feelings and decides to emrace her darkness on purpose, mainly as defense mechanism against externally caused suffering. Jinx takes revenge against the world that hurt her. She acts wrong but justifies it for herself with her suffering. It's a human, understandable evil. Jhin (and Bondrewd for that matter) actually thinks that he is doing something right, that nobody else can see, much less understand. Which is actually the even greater tradegy. He didn't bury his humanity under a thick layer of pain, he's completely missing it. Jinx is still redeemable, Jhin never was.
I do wish you would go back to the Skin Spotlights versions of the voice lines, yes I know I have said this before but now that you know more of the champs having you see the direct lines would be great. Also Jhin doesn't count in this video, his counting is amazing.
Jhin is mostly agreed on for being the best designed character in league of legend by most people and the more you delve into him the more interesting he becomes.
I think Sylas could be an interesting champion for you to react to voice lines and what have you. He's basically a deconstruction of Demacia and the rules that govern its darker aspects. Similar to how Jhin, Sett, Zed, and Syndra deconstruct aspects of their region.
Problem is, Sylas also proves Demacia's point. Magic is like a gun you could never see coming. You could live next to somebody for years, decades even... And one day, someone attacks them. Could be a mugging, could be an antagonistic relationship, whatever. They then just point at the person, and unleash power beyond what any other could wield, and kill them. Magic is quite literally an invisible firearm. And most mages have no trigger discipline.
You should Skinspotlights' videos for the voice lines because when the characters interact with other champions he actually tells you who he is interacting with
Jhin I believe is everyone’s universally loved character that riot has made, he’s been the most balanced champion has ever come out with, the best design and theme, and extremely fun gameplay for both sides
i recommend going to legends of runeterra voicelines if you haven't, some of them have very interesting interactions with other champions/other characters, like with ekko and azir or jhin and annie. some of the cards in LoR show a story in their info/biography. i also recommend looking into champions that relate to one another to paint the full picture. btw awesome series lol, it reminds me of myself getting into the lore for the first time.
assuming you read the comic, jhin has an obsession with the number 4, on a qwerty keyboard if you type his name its a 4, jhin was released on a leap year which happens every 4 years, his gun has 4 bullets and his 4th shot in game is the most powerful shot as well as considered the "finale", a violin has 4 strings ect.
Awesome video, but just like Kindred, I would suggest using Skin spotlights video for voice lines (as it includes all of them) instead of a small compilation of some of the voice lines. Unless you prefer it this way then it's fine
There's a running theory that the murderous acts he does for his performances (like in his teaser trailer, or like in his battle against Camille in the Awaken video) that we see those acts though his perspective, and he uses magic infused bullets to give off that look, but once the magic wears off the reality is that these acts were incredibly gruesome, so the women with the flowers growing on her back are potentially a massive exit wond or entrance wound, the rest, I'll leave that to your imagination.
'Phantom of the opera meets Hannibal Lecter' yep, absolutely on the money. I don't know if he's deliberately designed as an amalgamation of those characters, but I thought the same thing back when Jhin first got released
He's cool but I've played enough games to be like "hey, this is extremely familiar", took me a while but I was right, they adapted it so well it took me a while to figure it out but this is just a very calm and poetic version of Sander Cohen from Bioshock.
I actually thing that in the end Jhin is aware that was he does is bad in the eyes of society, he is absoutely not a fool, he is fully aware of what other think of him and of his work, he'll simply keep going becouse for him that's still art, the purest form of art, and as he says himself: "my genius will be understood... eventually..." and that really work well in making him a deep and complex character, not an idiotic killer thirsty for blood but a well mannered, educated and actually really talented genius that sees beauty in death... still the best character ever made in LoL
if you want to make a long video there's a champion named "tahm kench" who has a bijillion voice lines. and fun fact : the part where jhin said : "you have too many lines" is jhin talking to tahm kench for obvious reasons. and the good thing is although tahm kench is a monster, his voice actor has a heavenly voice ( in my opinion )
To understand Jhin lines you must understand that the only perspective that he cares about is art, he is trapped in an artistical and performative view of life and beatifullnes, I personally think his voice is not enotionles, but it is in euphoria and wonderness, autentic insanity for overwhelming emotion, bassically his reason stuned by the beauty of art and perfection (and maybe whants more to keep his reason and awareness out of his mind and live just by and for pleasure).
yeah, i remember that series as well(with Mikkelsen), that was one fucked up series, its like watching a car accident u want to look at away but u just can't. maybe u could react to swain voice lines next? and his short teaser Now that I think about it, he reminds me a bit of dexter with the addiction of wanting to kill.
Fun fact jhin s favorite (Obsessed) number is 4. Because of many reasons. 4 is number of death. His name has 4 letters. His gun fires 4 bullets at a time(In the theme if you listen closely he reloads the gun 4 times before firing, it's in the first half.), If you connect the letters in his name on an Android keyboard it forms the number 4. You get it
you should cover their legendary skin voice lines as well if you want a different take on the character. Jhin's legendary skin takes the same concept but elevates the scale to planets and stars.
Jhin is one of the best, if not the best, designed Champions in League. From his theme, to his voicelines and his gameplay everything is amazing.
Along with the likes of Fiddlesticks. Both remarkably well shrouded in mystery
I put kindred up there with him and Fiddle

And finally, Jhin without his mask is apparently such an unremarkable dude that he can effortlessly disappear into a crowd simply by taking off his costume and mask, which is pretty ironic considering everything else.
I would like your comment. But 44 likes is too perfect to mess up
Wait until Riot decide to make an handsome anime boy face for Jhin
apparently he got a scar from zed or something now
on top of this he despises this face so much that he goes through painstaking efforts to ensure that he never is unmasked.
Jhin is considered by many to be Riot's peak character design both in theme and gameplay, and god damn is he fun to play
Also, in what you mentioned about his mask, he literally goes so out of his way to avoid simetry that one of the eyes is blocked and he can barely breathe in it, but he likes it cause its dramatic af.
Also you gotta listen to Aatrox and Pantheon voicelines, some of the best
I don't even like to play adc so much but when i play jhin, man that feeling.

And who can blame him for being dramatic. He owns it

When Jhin first got teasered and one of the only things we had was his trailer video it was mindblowing. Everyone wanted to know more. Such a cool and artistic character.
I bet everyone was so mindblown because that initial teaser is amazing!
Dont forget him straight up murdering 4 champs on the website

Back then there was also theory that Kindred and Jhin are so similar, that they could be the same person. Also during game Lamb hums and signs just as Jhin does. So there is also another assumption, by that Jhin is so close to death and obsessed over it he can hear Lamb (which is ironic, since Lamb is all about peaceful death, but yet again that is how Jhin sees his work). Lamb also ask question to the wolf "I wonder how do they see me?" just as Jhin does. So it could be overall, that he embrace in some kind this aspect of death.
Btw anybody that reads this, have awesome day and remember that you are awesome. ;D
SUPER GOOD COMPARISON! Made my day waiting in the airport lol
I heard the theory that he caught a glimpse of Lamb during his first kill or something like that, and it drove him to chase that beauty, killing again and again to draw Kindred out.
Jhin has one of the best lore in my opinion.
He is such a creepy character but I am definitely interested as to his backstory for sure
@@georgieegames if I remember correctly, noone actually knows where he came from or what he did before he was known as jhin
Jhin hates his own face because it is so average and symmetrical, but it makes it possible for him to just blend in.
Also, Jhin is obsessed with the number 4, even writing "Jhin" kinda forms a 4 on the keyboard.
And 4 letters. The symbolism of perfection associated with four is cool. And has in a lot of his design, the DEV post about it is rly good
Also, about symmetry in art. (And then he’ll turn their face into a meat flower or something just because)
" (And then he’ll turn their face into a meat flower or something just because)" lmao
And then he’ll turn their face into a meat flower or something just because
im safe then?
Do Pantheon voice lines next. They are a treat to listen to.
Yeah, remember Pantheon with a P.
God jhins early can be so painful when you have to wait half an hour between each shot, and then late game arrives and all of your shots do half the enemies life while you run at 600ms
Truly a great climax for his opera
@@Benxall Jhin in late game, is truly perfection.
idk if someone mentioned it but the reason for Jhin's nervousness and obsession with perfection is that Jhin has pretty specific and extreme OCD.
His OCD relates to his "art" and the number 4. So he actually does have anxiety about his performances, and truly believes they need to be performed (tho he does also enjoy it, obviously)
The 4 bit is interesting:
- He has a gun with 4 shots
- a grenade that bounces 4 times before exploding
- 4 cuts on his mask
- 4 big sniper shots
- only 4 fingers of his hand are explosed, the hidden one being his trigger finger
- 4 stripes on his shoulder mound
- 4 victims in every city before he moves to a new one
- he cleans his gun exactly 4 times every time he cleans it, and a bunch more.
so needless to say his obsession runs deep
"Everyone wear's a mask, i just chose to make my own" hits deep when you put alot of thought into it.
And then you get "they will live until they die" like thanks, Sherlock. I still love Jhin to bits, but that line just makes me scratch my head.
There are certain champions you can tell they put alot of time into them. Jhin is one of them. He is a top 3 most played champs for me and his gameplay design and character are sick.
Your reaction to the Jhin trailer is precisely how he wanted people to react to his artwork.
Jhin is one of the unredeemeble evil characters, they are there to contrast and depict how everyone else is at least morally gray.
Just gonna drop this one here (as a Jhin enthusiast)
- Jhin seems to suffer from both OCD and self-loathing, the latter being one of the reasons he wears a mask, his face is described as very symmetrical, a feature he despises.
There's a whole host of Jhin's dark cosmic skin voice lines that are amazing as well. Its voiced by the same actor and really leaves you feeling involved with the champion.
Jhin definitely has some of the best voice lines and one of the best themes. The music just hits different. Awesome video as always Georgiee 😤
I remember the grip jhin teasers had on league community. The theories, the in game hints, i miss those hype days
Started playing him less and less, unless I was in a “Jhin mood.”
I can’t exactly remember what happened but I feel that when he became mainstream and EVERYBODY started to just *suck his dick-* he was the League mascot for a bit; everyone praised him like a god: that all effected me.
…………
I just can’t do Jhin anymore.
The way you've written this truly makes it feel like it's jhin, what an impact he must've had over you ❤
Before you read Jhin's comic (which actually is Zed's), you should at least look out for some info about Zed and Shen, who are the two main protagonists of that comic, while Jhin being the antagonist. Amazing reaction as always! looking forward for your next reactions
Jhin inspired me and the way i look at things.. I feel really bound with his Character.. My Life has changed. In many Ways.

"The world is cruel, but it doesn't have to be ugly."
To be honest, I agree.
Thats true but maybe not the way jhin wants xD

The video missed one of my favourite voice lines: "The essence of a thing, is found only in its absence"
You gotta do Aurelion Sol next, also his interactions in Legends of Runterra are worth hearing, but you could make a separate video about that.
Jhin appears in the Zed's comic if you are interested, or check Ionia still stands from shambits gaming for more Ionia lore :D
Also, Aatrox or Aurelion Voicelines next!
Through their death, Jhin gifts his victims eternal life in the form of art
I'm sorry if I missed it but here's a fun fact that makes Jhin even more "scary": He is so much addicted to flowers (because this is the way he sees his own art), that he usually mutilate their victims to the form of a rose. In the lore that's how people recognized it was Jhin, who committed a murder.
"There is no drama in a peaceful death" is probably my favorite quote
Your analysis' are so good. Love learning more about these characters along with you. Great vid
Jhin was released years before that movie came out.
Love his theme. His login is screen is so good.
I only recently realized why I love jhins voice
Every time he speaks, just a little bit of "casual theater teacher fussing at the kids voice" tinges his voice
He just sounds so normal and believable when he speaks casually
There's somethings you learn when participating in any live performance (or any performance in general), you may be the most shy and introverted person when out of character, but if the performance requires you to be the most charismatic person in the room, you have to be that fore everybody else; also, no matter how much self-confidence, talent and experience you have doing the performance, the nerviousness before the play is always there, even if you have been doing this for decades.
All this is in relation to Jhin, because he see his job as a hitman as a performance of the highest kind of arts, and it shows that in a lot of his voicelines.
Once you get through Rakan and Xayah, I'd reccomend to also listen to their duo quotes for Vastayan insight on things in Ionia and world.
Hell yeah! I'm glad you checked him out!
I consider him my "darkside"...if that makes sense.

a very interessting Thing, (that only heard about), is the in the game, when jhin talks u can hear that background music if u play him, but if u just walk past him and he talks, u cant hear any music.
so Actually the music is playing in his head, that is how he hears himself. The music IS in his Head.
If u can i highly recommend Aatrox voicelines. also by anothernobody.
Aatrox is interessting because u not only undertstand his story through his voicelines, but also u can hear, his sadness and his broken soul in his voice.
this music theme is easily the best one in league tied with kindreds, the two best designs in league for sure
Im surprised you didn't look at his Project Skin log in. The theme is one of my personal favorites.
With the trailer with Jhin staring. it is rumoured that is howJhin perceives each death but also Jhin weaves illusion magic into his bullets that cause those flowers to appear and when the spell is broken you see the grisly results
"we don't have a personification of death but we do have serial killers."
Fun fact, Jhin and Kindred share a voice line.

Remember this guy when his trailer he kill

art is worth of pain 🥰
He is a combination of Phantom of the Opera and V for Vendetta with a little bit of Andy Warhol. He's an art snob that everyone doesn't seem to want to punch in the face. Lol
OOOOhhhh yesss that is a perfect description! I would also be a bit scared of punching him in the face lol! Thanks for watching :)
Something that I didn't see mentioned is that he is obsessed with the number 4
Everything about him comes in 4s
Also totally listen to pantheon and aatrox they are phenomenal
i thought i knew everything about jhin and his lore, but i honestly never gave the "lotus blossom" voiceline any thought, very interesting.
Fyi when jhin ulty there is some orchestra backsound will make u goosebump
the audio is way better in this video :D praises to the guy who complaint about it xD
Ok but him being kind of an unhinged douchebag is why we love him
if i remember right, they did look at who he was under the mask, but they still dont know who he was or his past. he wouldnt answer anything and gave them no information other than what he wanted. so all in all, who he really is, is still a mystery to everyone. all we know for certain is that hes from ionia. oh and one cool thing about his killings and the art. everyone sees the bodies the way that beginning teaser showed. like crazy twisted artwork. but as soon as its touched, the illusion goes away and you can see what he really does to the bodies. for example, if it looks like a twisted tree and a person all gold and magical, once you touch it everyone sees that the branches are really just broken ribs and skin, and its just a butchered corpse twisted into whatever shape the art was in.
2:39 I think we got a virtuoso in our hands here guys
About symmetry, the most beautiful things usually is not perfectly symmetrical, but deviating from perfection just for a right amount. Perfectly symmetrical face will look very creepy for us
Aatrox is also a really interesting and tragic champion with cool lore and trailer
Jhin is mostly agreed on for being the best designed character in league of legend by most people and the more you delve into him the more interesting he becomes.
it would be cool to see the interaction between champions!!
Him just humming at the start of every game just feels good
You should Skinspotlights' videos for the voice lines because when the characters interact with other champions he actually tells you who he is interacting with
Jhin I believe is everyone’s universally loved character that riot has made, he’s been the most balanced champion has ever come out with, the best design and theme, and extremely fun gameplay for both sides
i recommend going to legends of runeterra voicelines if you haven't, some of them have very interesting interactions with other champions/other characters, like with ekko and azir or jhin and annie. some of the cards in LoR show a story in their info/biography. i also recommend looking into champions that relate to one another to paint the full picture. btw awesome series lol, it reminds me of myself getting into the lore for the first time.
assuming you read the comic, jhin has an obsession with the number 4, on a qwerty keyboard if you type his name its a 4, jhin was released on a leap year which happens every 4 years, his gun has 4 bullets and his 4th shot in game is the most powerful shot as well as considered the "finale", a violin has 4 strings ect.
Awesome video, but just like Kindred, I would suggest using Skin spotlights video for voice lines (as it includes all of them) instead of a small compilation of some of the voice lines. Unless you prefer it this way then it's fine
always love your over reacting
There's a running theory that the murderous acts he does for his performances (like in his teaser trailer, or like in his battle against Camille in the Awaken video) that we see those acts though his perspective, and he uses magic infused bullets to give off that look, but once the magic wears off the reality is that these acts were incredibly gruesome, so the women with the flowers growing on her back are potentially a massive exit wond or entrance wound, the rest, I'll leave that to your imagination.
Actually now that I remember this, I do believe the theory was sort of if not actually confirmed in the zed comic
I don't need to feel sorry for him
He does not feel sorry for anyone
He does not stop until he has completed his artwork
'Phantom of the opera meets Hannibal Lecter' yep, absolutely on the money. I don't know if he's deliberately designed as an amalgamation of those characters, but I thought the same thing back when Jhin first got released
He's cool but I've played enough games to be like "hey, this is extremely familiar", took me a while but I was right, they adapted it so well it took me a while to figure it out but this is just a very calm and poetic version of Sander Cohen from Bioshock.
You should do aurelion sol next, i think you will love it
I'm not jhin main, but is easly one of the most beautiful and charismatic character ive ever seen at LoL
Yep Jhin is down right evil, plz do more voicelines!
Kaboom like a flower in the darkkk.. only og lol love this quote
its SO GOOD! As creepy as jhin is, his character and voicelines is done extremely well! :)
"He looks like someone who doesn't take responsibility for what he's doing..."
Jhin: "lmao I'm misunderstood, beauty CAN'T be evil bruh..."
I think this is how Jhin sees his kills works of art
To understand Jhin lines you must understand that the only perspective that he cares about is art, he is trapped in an artistical and performative view of life and beatifullnes, I personally think his voice is not enotionles, but it is in euphoria and wonderness, autentic insanity for overwhelming emotion, bassically his reason stuned by the beauty of art and perfection (and maybe whants more to keep his reason and awareness out of his mind and live just by and for pleasure).
yeah, i remember that series as well(with Mikkelsen), that was one fucked up series, its like watching a car accident u want to look at away but u just can't. maybe u could react to swain voice lines next? and his short teaser
Now that I think about it, he reminds me a bit of dexter with the addiction of wanting to kill.
