    WHAT ARE NASAL SPRAYS:
Nasal sprays are a solution or suspension of medicine. They are sprayed into the nostrils, usually to produce a local effect directly inside the nose.
Some nasal sprays are used to administer medicine that acts on other parts of the body. In these cases the medicine is absorbed into the bloodstream from the lining of the nose, which is rich in blood vessels.
    OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION:
    • Do not share nasal sprays with other people.
    • Decongestant nasal sprays should not be used for longer than 5-7 days, as this can cause the nasal congestion to come back (rebound congestion).
    • EXPIRY: never use your nasal spray after the expiry date as it may be contaminated with dirt or bacteria. Follow the printed instructions given with your spray. Write the date you open your nasal spray on the bottle so you know when to throw it away.
    • Always use the nasal spray according to the printed label or as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.
    • Your nasal spray should be cleaned at least once a week, or more frequently if it becomes blocked. Follow the printed instructions supplied with the spray.
    • Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you accidentally take more than you were supposed to.
    • Nasal sprays are only intended for use in the nose and must not be taken by mouth.
    • Once you have finished the treatment course, carefully dispose of any leftover nasal spray, or return it to your pharmacist for disposal.
    • Always keep medicines out of the reach of children.
If you have any further questions please speak to your pharmacist.

I’ve been using nasal sprays for over a decade and always dealing with the awful horrendous taste from improper use. It wasn’t until a month ago that my allergist pointed out that I might be using it wrong. I tried what she recommended but only got it right for one nostril. This video helped me to actually see what I need to be doing, thank you!

It's frustrating how when I went to my doctor and told him the spray doesnt seem to be doing anything, he didnt ask me if I was using it correctly. According to your clear and useful video, i was using it wrongly and i wish I knew for the 2 weeks i was using it! I was aiming to towards the septum and breathing in way too hard when using the spray. Very useful video. Thank you.

hey thanks for this!!!! i read in the instructions you're supposed to not tilt your head back and you should inahle deeply. right away I was getting that bad drip down the back of my throat which is one of the reasons I was using the nasal spray to begin with. i didn't know what I was doing wrong and looked up one article but it said don't tilt your head back and don't 'snort' it. i tried that, no work. im really new to actually having the confidence to go and look up information on youtube and your video was the first one. it addressed every single thing I was doing wrong and im really glad I found this after a few days instead of waiting weeks. having the mental energy to go and look up what was wrong instead of just thinking it was normal is hard for someone with my kind of psychiatric issues, so the fact that your video was such a huge help greatly improved my confidence to keep trying to research. i was scared id see some lame video that didn't really give me any answers and im really thankful to come across this. thanks for the video and I've subscribed to watch more.

The original prescribing Doc never showed me how to do it correctly.
American Health sCare FTW ! 😆
Not to worry though! When the nose bleeds and ear pain started , the new Doc sort of explained how to do it? but still didn’t tell me to tilt my head down. 😂

OMG my nasal spray always goes down my throat cause the instructions say to squirt and sniff. I tried what you said squirt at an angle and small sniffs then once it stopps dripping you can breathe normal. I tried and I can't taste it in my throat this is amazing I almost stopped the sprays and was gonna ask for antihistamine pills instead

I bought a nasal spray for the first time today. Couldn't get it to come out of the container. (Yes I took the top off.) So...searched for a TH-cam video. Found yours, watched it, (Very entertaining and informative.) Tried to use the spray again and - da-da-da-DAH! the spray came out. Magic! Now that I've sprayed it onto the palm of my hand it's time to try spraying it into my nostrils.
    ... BRB
    Success! Hooray!
Thank you so much Abraham the Pharmacist.

Once your done spraying your nose the correct way you should sit down and take a couple of breaths with your mouth close this helps a lot I feel better.

I have a nasty cold or flu so when i saw you mention ghis vid I watched it straight aasy. So glad i did. Been foing it wrong for decades. Now i am wondering if a vapor wouldnt work even better than a spray? Perhaps in another video!

One problem that I have with allergy nasal sprays is that once the medication gets down to a certain level, I don't always get a fine mist from the spray nozzle. Fortunately, the bottle for the one I use is made of tinted glass, so I shine a flashlight in it and find out where the dip tube is leaning. I'll then mark that spot on the bottle, so I know what angle I need to point the bottle at when using the nasal spray.

I used to do everything right from uncovering, unlocking and shaking vigorously before use.
but what I didn't do was.
    1. Prime it before using
    2. Didn't know about angle of the head and the bottle.
    3. Didn't breath out before spray
    4. Didn't breath in while spraying
Still shaking vigorously reduced the throat taste issue and it worked quite a bit as I felt. But I had finished one bottle like that before I noticed a WARNING label on a new bottle that mentioned to "read the paper inside" that I did and discovered I haven't been using it the right way. Once again I had used it before reading but sure the last time. I'll try to use it correctly next time. Thanks for the additional tip of switching hands as it was not mentioned anywhere 😝
