What a great interview as a former infantryman myself I love listening to Phil . The Tornado along with the Vulcan bomber are my all time favorite aircraft so listening to a pilot in this aircraft was superb thank you Ma’am
Absolutely superb interview really fascinating what a pilot just shows what is achievable love your channel Phil tell it how it is keep them coming THANKYOU.
What an inspiring lady and how sad she was bullied and isolated whilst serving her country, especially as she was stuck in a war zone thousands of miles from home. As somebody with a physical disability, I know exactly how it feels to be isolated and frozen out by others and it goes on even to this day. Human beings have a long way to go.
Excellent interview. What a woman. Men are not better, we are just different and from listening to her experiences, 'surprise surprise', pretty shabby at times. Lets hope there are many more like her to come.
Ex mil RAF air traffic here, superb interview. I saw a small bit of gender bias in my long career but can honestly say it never happened when I supervised a 5 person team for 4 years.
A great guest! I started to listen to the full interview and the first question got me - where are you from? Sale was the reply and here I am watching this form my home in, you’ve guessed it, Sale.
Fuckin ell manz, I wish I could loose 3 stone. The only way that's gonna happen, is if I take the rocks out of my pockets . Another cracking video, Phil 👍
It's outrageous how they just made up a weight target for Mandy Hickson. She would be a credit to any nation's armed forces. And thank God for that squadron leader, who helped her to make further progress in the service.
Putting her weight issue into context I’m 5’2 and 7stone is underweight for me. As a personal trainer ignorance like this drives me up the wall. I’m glad she didn’t develop an eating disorder.
Still not - why’s that 😂unconscious bias ffs…. It’s called your commission you sign. You sound like Harry claiming he’s an apache pilot 👨✈️ RAF is buggered.
at least you didn’t desert yhe squadron like two MALE pilots did in the 1st Desert Storm in 1991!.. mental health issues.. hah! but the RAF took them back!!??
I was a GR4/5 pilot. I was based with you at RAF Marham I believe? Your the girl who turned up for a couple of months after millions of pounds to then bugger off for Maternity for a year? Fast Jet Performance remembers you as well 😂 Your a Sean Bell diversity hire. Cost us triple the price 1/3rd the performance.
Funny how everyone is suddenly a fast jet pilot. I bet you were no more than a wanna-be who didn't have the brains to be an actual pilot. You're (not your) certainly not officer material so bloat off Walter M.
Phil - thanks once again for having such a great guest. What they told Mandy Hickson about her weight was outrageous!
But not a surprise.

Where do I find the full length interview? So much of interest was missing.
Link to the full debrief is in the description and at the end of the video 😎
Any chance you can try and get John Nichol on the channel, the guy was a navigator, ejected and was captured.
Sure, we will try to reach out
A friend of mine who flew Phantoms also told me about the ashtray in the cockpit - I thought he was joking.
We had patrols not missions , well done girl , xxx

The weight to height scales are wrong!
