Tatars in Romania were not deported like those in Crimea by USSR : (

Over the past centuries, the Russians definitely committed several genocides against the Crimean Tatars in order to wipe them out of Crimea. And they are still doing it.

In the ww2, the Romanian government did hundred and hundred passports to the Crimeean tartars to escape from Soviets to Turkey.

According to the Union of Tatars there are more than 50,000 Tatars in Romania and like all minorities they are represented in the Romanian Parliament and have access to education in the Tatar language. A Tatar Alphabet was created in Romania and in the interwar period the Tatar movement from Dobrogea tried to spread education to the Crimea Tatars, which only attracted repression and deportations to Siberia by the Soviets.

Funny how so many minorities or refugees came to Romania and Romanians gave them everything but yet Romanians are one of the most discriminated nation in the world.

Also interesting that the Tatar intelligentsia developed in Romania and not in Turkey. The same was with Albanians, Greeks and Bulgarians. The first Albanian Book was printed in Romania 😂

Romanian Turks and Tatars are the most respected ethnicity and the most faithful to the Romanian state. Usually Turks have 2 flag poles on their yard:Romanian flag, higher, and a Turkish flag or the flag of Ataturk, a little bit lower.

Minorities are most respected in Romania than anywhere in the world. If the Ottomans never allowed Christians to build churches with crosses on them, king Carol I of Romania built for the Muslims the Constantza mosque, also named after him. In Constantza there is free education in Turkish language up to university and also for other large minorities.

For nobody is important that 90% of Romania consists of Romanians and that is the reason everybody is happy. Where Romanians are lower in number, 80% in Republic of Moldova, everything is wrong and civil war is permanent. Romanian overwhelming majority is the ground for peace, as Romanians are peace and wealth generators.

Constanta might be ancient as settlement but started to be a city and the largest port on the Black sea since is part of Romania. Before 1878 Kustendje was an Ottoman fishermen's village of 5,200 men, out of which 1800 Tatars, 1500 Greeks, 340 Jews, 330 Bulgarians, 290 Romanians, 120 Gypsies, 100 Turks. By 2000s there were 290k Romanians, 9k Tatars, 9k Turks, 3k Gypsies, 500 Greeks.

Tatar became a standard name for all Turkish and some mongolian step people but were in the beginning a tribe of ancient Turkish land that today is Mongolia.
These people in the documentary were speaking the Türkiya Turkish and not the Kıpçak Turkish like the Kazaks or Tatars in Tataristan.

@@Bizmyurt We Turkish people can understand almost everything they said, but that doesn't mean they speak Anatolian Turkish. Crimean Tatar language is a Kypchak language(like Kazakh and Kyrgyz) but it has Oghuz influences so Oghuz speakers(like Turkish and Azerbaijani) can also understand them. The elderly lady says "isteymen" instead of "istiyorum", or "bolur" instead of "olur", just like in other Kypchak languages. By the way, Crimean Tatar has mainly three dialects; Yalıboylu(Southern), Orta(Middle) and Çöl(Northern). Romanian Tatars mostly speak in Çöl dialect.
But what surprised me was the elderly lady used the word "kutsal". That word was created during the language reforms in 1930s, so it cannot be a Tatar word. I believe she might be watching Turkish tv channels or has some knowledge of Turkish.
