I'm a Tatar from Tatarstan, and the best thing I can say about our region is how peacefully and well we live together with the Russian majority (it's actually a 50/50 population here) and how our cultures are mixed now. We celebrate Russian and Tatar, Orthodox and Muslim holidays together, you can see churches and mosques everywhere, and the best thing is I have many friends among Tatars and Russians at the same time :)

hi, I am from Hungary and we have "saslik" too and call it the same! I guess we took the world "saslik" from Turkish, and maybe the dish also come from them :). Anyway we also add onion, paprika and other vegetables to saslik. This dish is also very popular in festivals in Hungary, but as a side dish we eat it with fresh bread or fried potatoes. Thank you for the videos about rural Russia, I have never thought to feel like to vitis it, but your interesteing stories made me want to travel once there. :)

Every new building that is built today is the same flavour of disgusting architecture, too, and the style never has anything to do with the local region. They're always the same boring, depressing, globally homogenous brutalist/"modern" eyesores, with teeming walls of glass, concrete and steel. Even the buildings meant to be "works of art" are just soul-sucking subversions of what is truly nice to behold and marvel at. We all need to get back to our roots.
Helo Eli, I live in Canada but yes I am Polish. There are Tatar villages in Poland. They have rich and reputable history. The Tatars contributed in defending polish territory and had been given nobility privileges but most of all they have assimilated with Polish and live peacefully. Tatar's food has been recognized as a regional kitchen specialty and is prized for being very tasty. I like your channel and will watch your videos with interest .

I am Russian and Kazakh and from Crimea. Tatar culture is so interwoven through the peninsula and we really prise them as a nation treasure. I have pictures as a kid with my friends which are mostly Tartars from the neighborhood I lived. Such good people and great memories.

I am from a diasporic Tatar Community that now speaks different languages: Persian, Urdu, Pushto, etc. We spread across in the original Mongol Army, turned to Persian (Iran/Faras), then invaded Afghanistan under Amir Timur (also called Timur the Lame), and, from Afghanistan, entered present day Pakistan under the Mughal King Akbar, the Great. Yes Anatolian Turks are mixed with other races and ethnicities however since the father DNA Carries they are still considered Turkic. For example I have roots in the south and my family is very mixed but many also have central-asian face types. If I get a son of a negroide woman. My son will be Turkic as much as any other Turks. The Putin government will not allow a Slavic festival to be held. The national and ethnic policy of Putin's Russia is aimed at supporting national minorities to the detriment of the Russian ethnos. This is similar to BLM in the west.

The Kazan Tatars are descendants of the Mongols of Genghis Khan + the allied to them Turkic Tatars, who overwhelmed the Empire of Volga Bulgaria in the 1230's. And they are on the greatest genetical distance with the old and new DNA probes from the whole Volgo-Ural region, including Tatars, Chuvash etc. There is no way that if there was a "country" or "cities" of Bulgarians, not a trace of them remained. Even if they were assimilated, with a changed culture, way of life, self-awareness, religion, etc., undoubtedly in their DNA there would be a residue and similarity with those of the old and present-day Bulgarians, but there is none. Bulgarians never had any closeness and connection with the Tatars, Chuvash and other population from Volgo-Ural. We have absolutely no similarities with culture, way of life, self-awareness, religion, language, traditions, DNA. We modern Bulgarians are the only descendents of the real Proto-Bulgars and we carry their culture, language, name, DNA - everything. History is manipulative, don't believe the 19-20th century false thesis!

Salam, Tatars are the descendants of ancient Koreans during Goguryeo (Ko-guryo, meaning 'Great Korea' BC 39~668 AD) dynasty which collapsed in 668 due to war with Tang China and Silla Korea. They took refuge to Go'kTurk Kaghanat in the then- time Turkistan (modern Mongolia) and they lived with the 1) Go'k Turks, and the 2) Ogur (Uigurs) and 3) Tatars themselves forming the 2nd Eastern Turkic Kaghanat. After the collapse of Go'kTurk Kaghanat by the Uigurs in 742, the Tatars formed the 2nd largest ethnic group that composed the Uighur Kagahanat. After the collapse of the Uighur Kaghanat in 842, they moved west and eastword and became the ancestors of modern Tatars. Tatar people means those people who were led by "Taedaero"(Prime Minmister of Guguryeo). 2) This word was recorded later in Chinese history book (New Book of Five Dynasties) in the 10th century and that book explicitly says "Tatars are people who lived between the Kitays and Malgals and they are the descendants of the Malgals (Ko-guryo people, i.e. ancient Koreans)! I am from Azerbaycan part of Iran, and years ago for a university essay we had to choose a country and search about its architecture and buildings, no one chose Russia !! why? it is strange but everyone was chosing countries such as Us or European countries. I was wonder why no one cared about Pakistan or Japan, Banglafdesh!! greece , morocco !! I chose Russia and that opened my eyes to a new world. not only russia but also I learned about Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and so many other cultures around russia. until that day I didn't know that most of parts in Russia has Turkic spoken people! Bashkir and Tatars, Qaraqalpaq, etc. And I was surprised that as and Iranian Azerbayjani I can understand their language. Sagboliz means goodbye and we say it as "Sag galiz" that both means "Stay well".
Im a Tatar from Turkiye my family fled from Tatarstan back in 1826 and found their self in the Ottoman Empire i cant speak Tatartian but turkish russian and azerbaijani turkish i also can write and and understand cyrillic i wont forget my roots
My grandma told us that our paternal Tatar great great grandfather (his name was Hakim and that's where my surname comes from) also fled to Turkey escaping the Russian regime. I think he kept in touch with his wife for a bit but the connection was eventually lost. So we have no idea what happened to him, maybe he had another family, maybe we have some distant relatives in Turkey :) It's fascinating to know that this could be true.
Cyrillic has nothing to do with your roots by the way. This is the alphabet forced by Russians in 1939. Your ancestors most probably used Arabic script.

Yes, Russia is extremely diverse. As much diverse as many different countries. In fact these 'ethnic minorities' which in case of Tatars comprise abt 6 mln people used to be independent nations. And that explains why having being conquered by Russia they now became 'a part of diverse Russia'. If one thinks a bit, he/she would understand how Russia works - it conquers different nations and tries to absorb and assimilate them, so that later naive foreigners are surprised how much Russia is diverse. That is basically the same thing which is being done now in Ukraine. Ukrainians once managed to escape, but they aren't allowed to be a normal different country. Russia prefers to have it as another diverse pearl inside itself. One should not put❤here but rather😡

India's population was the highest in the world since the stone ages and thus high base population. The Tatars is an umbrella term for different Turkic ethnic groups bearing the name "Tatar". They had country called Golden Horde with capital Kazan. Russia invaded them in 16th century and mostly assimilated just like how China does to Uygurs. I wrote this because no one mentioned that they are branch of turks.

I'm a Tatar from Tatarstan, and the best thing I can say about our region is how peacefully and well we live together with the Russian majority (it's actually a 50/50 population here) and how our cultures are mixed now. We celebrate Russian and Tatar, Orthodox and Muslim holidays together, you can see churches and mosques everywhere, and the best thing is I have many friends among Tatars and Russians at the same time :)

hi, I am from Hungary and we have "saslik" too and call it the same! I guess we took the world "saslik" from Turkish, and maybe the dish also come from them :). Anyway we also add onion, paprika and other vegetables to saslik. This dish is also very popular in festivals in Hungary, but as a side dish we eat it with fresh bread or fried potatoes. Thank you for the videos about rural Russia, I have never thought to feel like to vitis it, but your interesteing stories made me want to travel once there. :)

The Tatars contributed in defending polish territory and had been given nobility privileges but most of all they have assimilated with Polish and live peacefully. I am Russian and Kazakh and from Crimea. Tatar culture is so interwoven through the peninsula and we really prise them as a nation treasure. I have pictures as a kid with my friends which are mostly Tartars from the neighborhood I lived. Such good people and great memories.

This is the largest official study to establish the genetic origin of Bulgarians, with the largest-scale study of DNA and the so-called "mitochondrial chromosome" that is passed from mother to children. Genetics is an exact science, and the geneticists showed that the DNA samples extracted from the teeth of 100% proven to be Proto-Bulgars (by the archeologists and historians) from the 8th-10th centuries from Nozharevo (Silistrense), Mostich Monastery (Shumensko), Tukhovishte (Satovcha) are homogeneous among themselves, meaning proto-Bulgarians were one ethic group, not mix of people and it has been established that they are identical to today's Bulgarians and people from Central Italy. They were found to be a majority, not a minority. And they are on the greatest genetical distance with the old and new DNA probes from the whole Volgo-Ural region, including Tatars, Chuvash etc. There is no way that if there was a "country" or "cities" of Bulgarians, not a trace of them remained. Even if they were assimilated, with a changed culture, way of life, self-awareness, religion, etc., undoubtedly in their DNA there would be a residue and similarity with those of the old and present-day Bulgarians, but there is none.
Bulgarians never had any closeness and connection with the Tatars, Chuvash and other population from Volgo-Ural. We have absolutely no similarities with culture, way of life, self-awareness, religion, language, traditions, DNA. We modern Bulgarians are the only descendents of the real Proto-Bulgars and we carry their culture, language, name, DNA - everything.

After the collapse of Go'kTurk Kaghanat by the Uigurs in 742, the Tatars formed the 2nd largest ethnic group that composed the Uighur Kagahanat. After the collapse of the Uighur Kaghanat in 842, they moved west and eastword and became the ancestors of modern Tatars. While migrating they married Slavic, Persian and Turkic peoples and so, now they look differently from Koreans, but you can definitely see their Korean features in many of them. 1) The name of 'Tatar' was orginally "Taedaero"(Prime Minmister of Guguryeo) , but the Go'k Turks pronounced as Tatar (See Bilge Kaghan Stele and Kul Tegin Stele in Mongolia made in 732 and later). Tatar people means those people who were led by "Taedaero"(Prime Minmister of Guguryeo). 2) This word was recorded later in Chinese history book (New Book of Five Dynasties) in the 10th century and that book explicitly says "Tatars are people who lived between the Kitays and Malgals and they are the descendants of the Malgals (Ko-guryo people, i.e. ancient Koreans)! My grandma told us that our paternal Tatar great great grandfather (his name was Hakim and that's where my surname comes from) also fled to Turkey escaping the Russian regime. I think he kept in touch with his wife for a bit but the connection was eventually lost. So we have no idea what happened to him, maybe he had another family, maybe we have some distant relatives in Turkey :) It's fascinating to know that this could be true.
Cyrillic has nothing to do with your roots by the way. This is the alphabet forced by Russians in 1939. Your ancestors most probably used Arabic script.

When Turkic tribes created states called STAN Tatarstan, Russia wasnt state but Moskwa Stan I assume word derivate from Hindu since Turkish state is Devlet

Yes, Russia is extremely diverse. As much diverse as many different countries. In fact these 'ethnic minorities' which in case of Tatars comprise abt 6 mln people used to be independent nations. And that explains why having being conquered by Russia they now became 'a part of diverse Russia'. If one thinks a bit, he/she would understand how Russia works - it conquers different nations and tries to absorb and assimilate them, so that later naive foreigners are surprised how much Russia is diverse. That is basically the same thing which is being done now in Ukraine. Ukrainians once managed to escape, but they aren't allowed to be a normal different country. Russia prefers to have it as another diverse pearl inside itself. One should not put❤here but rather😡

India's population was the highest in the world since the stone ages and thus high base population.
And we had huge fertile land, lot of water, a strong cultural civilisation and climate suitable for large population therefore our population had growth rate similar to that of Europe in the Industrial revolution but since our base population was already the highest, our present population is littile higher than europe.
No. of Europeans in the world(including those migrated to the Americas and Australia) is more than 1.8 billion even though their European homeland(excluding russia) is of similar size as the Indian subcontinent.

The Tatars is an umbrella term for different Turkic ethnic groups bearing the name "Tatar". They had country called Golden Horde with capital Kazan. Russia invaded them in 16th century and mostly assimilated just like how China does to Uygurs. I wrote this because no one mentioned that they are branch of turks.

My family are from Ireland,I live in England,my grandmother told me what her grandmother told her, they used the term ‘poor tartar’s’ for someone who had been treated very badly, which wasn’t long after the so called famine , which is ironic,but nothing has been taught in any education system about the tatars or their contribution to the world, I’d love to come visit that part of the world one day, it looks amazing , great video,thank you 👏🏻

Most of the Turkic peoples have colored hair and eyes. I even have relatives with yellow eyes
