It's not 100% related, but this reminds me of a Prince Valiant comic I read one Sunday. He visited an island the inhabitants of which can see into the future and know all the consequences of their actions. This paralyzed almost all the people there into nearly complete inaction: one character knew that if he moved to the left and allowed the sun to shine into someone else's eyes, that person would also move and subsequently get hit by a cart.
No kidding! The simple version is: everything is a choice, whether you like it or not. But, it gets way more complex... I could make a dozen videos about this alone. Maybe I will...
