I’ll be attempting a Guinness Record of my own on November 13th, 2021: the most cards memorized under water in a single breath AND the fastest time to arrange a deck memorized underwater.

I think it would be really cool to see a video of maybe 5 decks of cards being memorized. Just an uncut video of you memorizing a few decks. And maybe talking about certain points in the deck that might amuse you with a funny PAO. Or just don’t talk and do it as fast as possible. Keep up your great videos I love them all

As per the multiblind, the solving is included in the hour (which is how memory Rubik's usually work, not like regular memory stuff where you count the memorization).
67 cards? That seems like a nice record to break. I might also try that 😁. Can hold my breath for something like 40s, but well ... 🤷♂️.

I'm trying to do some street interviews and seminars and workshops for schools🏫 colleges and corporate offices since the memory techniques can be used everywhere and they really are helpful and I've learned almost all the basics and fundamentals of mnemonics

Hi Nelson, I have an interesting memorization challenge I’m working on. I want to memorize the entire Periodic Table of Elements. Asap Science put out a song of all the elements in order and I tried memorizing it that way but it’s tenuous at best. I would love to hear your thoughts on memorizing all of the elements from Hydrogen to Oganesson. I talked to Dave about his cards world record, and he said he used Star Wars movies as the memory palaces. He set up spreadsheets to keep the order of the scenes correct.
Would love to chat with you more about it at the championship. There are a lot of unanswered questions about his attempt/record.

Decided not to do the livestream as it was going to be too difficult to manage while also trying to break the record. I have tons of footage though! Working on a recap video instead!
Hi Nelson, I am from Germany and wanted to ask if you offer techniques for memorizing the Quran in your classes. I don't know how to use techniques like the mind palace when what is written is in Arabic. German is in fact my mother tongue.

I don't know if you know about this but try to look for training or classes from a known Hafiz or Hafiza. They specialize in exactly your topic of interest, being people who memorized the Quran it's likely they have special strategies for the text that could better supplement whatever knowledge you have about memorization.
I was thinking 🤔 about also attempting a Guinness World Record of something combined that only I can do best. I was thinking maybe since I'm one of the fastest in the world at calendar calculations but not exactly the fastest, then, as long as Yusnier can't blindfold solve a Rubik's cube 😉, maybe I can do something with that such as most randomly asked calendar dates while simultaneously blindfold solving a cube in some type of time control or something 🤔. Also, to make it harder for others to compete, I'll have B.C dates included for both Julian and Gregorian up to billions of years into both the past and future. I don't even think anyone else besides me knows how to calculate those things for all 4 calendars, Julian and Gregorian both B.C and A.D especially while blindfold solving a cube.

I reckon matrix attempts must be way harder than reciting a sequence in order, because who tf memorizes not just the sequence but also the position of a random object within this sequence? For example almost everybody can recall the ABCs but only a receedingly low amount of ppl could tell you the exact position of an asked charcter in a reasonable amount of time, given it is not near some special value like 1 or 26 o.O (At least it would be harder if you test all the subset of objects within a set)

hey ;) if you memorise stuff with memory techniques it is actually quite easy to tell the exact position of any card in any deck, because you can really easy skip to the card you want to recall. There is no need to go through the entire list and counting each card until you are at the correct card. Hope that clarifies some things...

Sounds like Dominque is a bitter guy who lost his record and is trying to hold onto it. You see something similar with gaming records. It’s in the Guinness records that he memorized 59 decks with one look, so that’s the record. Not really fair to go off random interviews where he might be answering a different question, or an ex rival who is definitively pissed he doesn’t have the record, to call him a liar. Plus you have the discovery channel video taping the attempt. Hard to believe discovery and Guinness would fake a record, and for what reason? If Guinness gets caught the lose all credibility
