Watching the whole process would be interesting for those already interested. The reason this was such a successful stream for Emily is because it was unique content for her, she'll do something completely different next stream. Also she's a bit of a clown so she's entertaining to watch even if the content is boring. Also she recognized that watching her memorize stuff for 12 hours might be boring so she turned on media-share.
@@sanaswift3154do you know what a fraternity is? In college and university boys and girls form 'clubs' that will organize stuff for each other. That's nuts. My first and only memory feat was memorizing 50 numbers in front of an audience (major system + memory palace). I'd only practiced with 20-digit numbers because I had one small "palace" ready and didn't want to risk cluttering it with practice images prior to the show. Happy to say it went well and I've always felt awesome about it. Until now. I can't believe she learned and applied a system to 1000+ numbers in one go, live. Respect.
i watch most of the livestream she was very descriptive and she had to start over alot but she really pushed through. Most ppl would have to watch the livestream to understand how she memorized it.
I would love to see videos of the process you take to learn stuff, similar to what emily did here. Being able to recite stuff is cool, but the excitement really comes in with seeing the process and the 'hero's journey' of you memorizing it.
@@bernardmithi4718 He has a bit on the subject but since he also sells classes teaching the techniques, the stuff he previously uploaded never felt like the most thoroughly explained versions, sadly.
Something that makes content like this interesting for sure is the process. But I am pretty sure an integral part is to see the struggle because it makes it more relatable. From watching a lot of learning content I'd like to add failure and learning from failure. Some of the best learning content I have seen has been food related that ends in a huge failure. Sometimes the creator even gives up but with a reason.
That’s a great point. So I could definitely do something like this then, it would just have to be a much more crazier level of a challenge given my abilities. Something that would be hard for me and would give me trouble (and maybe get me to fail in the end). I think you’re totally right in that people would want to see that struggle. Thanks for that thought!
This inspired me to try for myself, though I became too impatient to do it this way and found learning hypothetical relationships between numbers worked for me, got to 150 before stopping and doing something else.
This randomly popped up on my page but you got a new sub. I wanted to say i think it would be very interesting seeing the process not just you doing it.
21:00 yes I find that people are definitely interested in the whole process! At least my friends are when I talk about this stuff (or they pretend to be lol)
Hey Nelson, I noticed that Emily uses very elaborate and specific actions and objects in her PAO system, like fighting a pirate or wearing round glasses. In your book, however, you use simpler actions and objects, like sword fighting or a sword, which leaves more room for imagination. Which approach do you think is better? Should we use elaborate actions and objects, or is it better to keep them simple and let our imagination fill in the details?
This is quite some feat. To do this while people are watching. I can do 500, and have set up Anki flash cards to display a 10 digit chunk so that I have to do the next 10 digits. But doing this live is pretty amazing...
Hey, you seem like a nice dude, so please don't take this as criticism, it's just a tip, the audio should be louder, i had you on max volume and was still hard to listen and the AD almost blew up my ears lol
The insufferable people who spent literal hours in her chat accusing her of cheating when they could have seen she wasn't faking it by watching even 45min of the prior 11 hour stream..
She got her big break as a streamer because she went on a game show where she lost in the finals to a cheater. The org that hosted the game show felt so bad they offered to give her the $50k prize -- but instead of taking the money she asked to join the org and quickly became one of their most popular streamers. Literally jumped from streaming to a few hundred people to consistently pulling 10k viewers.
this is the first video of yours I've seen, I didn't even know this type of youtube content existed and as someone who knows hardly anything about memory artistry, it was very interesting to me to watch your reaction! I'm really annoyed right now that I have almost full visual aphantasia which is why mind palaces have never worked for me, but I'm kind of intrigued now to try and see how far I can get with the digits of pi anyway :D I have just one remark - maybe you could consider adjusting the volume with which you upload your videos. I had to really turn up the volume on this video and whenever it was interrupted by an ad, it was really jarring and it kind of hurt my ears. Might be a me problem, who knows, just wanted to tell you. Also I think people could really be interested in seeing you not only recite things but the learning process as well. This might differ depending on the audience, but a story arc can often really help to make a video more captivating :)
Hey! Nice to meet you. And thanks for the comments. This was really my first time going live reacting to someone else’s video so I’m a bit new to that (hence the wonky audio. It’ll be fixed for the next one, I promise!). I really need to make a video for people with aphantasia because there is a way to do this even if you do struggle to come up with images in your mind.
@@NelsonDellis that would be great! the way I memorized 33 digits of pi back in school and things like those 16 digit wifi passwords etc was via rhythm and what different sets of digits "feel like" to me when grouped together, but I'll wager I'm not gonna get to a thousand digits that way :D
