  • Hello, hello! It's time for another random memory tips video.
    This week's topic is something that I get asked about on the regular. It's one of the more involved types of things to memorize, so in this video I walk through an example of how I would memorize part of The Declaration of Independence.
    Once you get the basic idea on how to do this, you can apply it to learning any speech, memorizing lines, poems, quotes, toasts, whatever your pretty little heart desires my friend!

    Hi Nelson. I find it hard to find one reference that gives good training for the overall memory competitions. I love your videos, it's clear cut straight to the point, simple, good basics. Are you working on any books or training series videos? There are no local training where I live and using youtube, i have to reference many different trainers on here. You seem to be the best in explaining the basics towards memory training geared towards competition.

I need to memorize a series of playing cards in order, by number, forward and backward. I also need to know which card is at each position. So, if someone says 7D, I need to know that it is 3rd. Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2 And walk in love, just as Christ also loved [a]you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God [b]as a fragrant aroma.
    3 But sexual immorality [c]or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among [d]saints; 4 and there must be no filthiness [e]or foolish talk, or vulgar joking, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know with certainty, that no sexually immoral or [f]impure or greedy person, which [g]amounts to an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
    6 See that no one deceives you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the [h]sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not become partners with them;
