I will sometimes shoot 200 rounds at 100yds in groups of 20 just to see if I can hold that group across the same amount of shots as an F-Class or a PRS match. If I can't then I start looking at why.
Man these interviews are bada$$ Ill listen to them in the background while prepping brass or messing around with cleaning my rifles or measuring CBTO for new bullets I want to try, also I get Ad's About every 3-5 minutes hopefully that shows on your end positively! Keep em comin man!
Eric, 40-odd years ago satellite reconnaisence had reached the limits of resolution because of atmospheric and wind distortion. The now ancient solution involves sending a non-visible light beam to the target, and measuring the distortion in the return beam. Which tells you the atmospheric conditions in the way. Resolution went from a meter or two down to inches and less. This same science could probably be scaled down (from hundreds of miles to just hundreds of yards) by bouncing a laser at the target, measuring the return distortion, and then quickly adjusting your sights to the same offset. I wouldn't be surprised if the new military computer optics sights are already implementing this. Old technology--but totally new to shooters.
I'm down with the Wind Zero technology ; the caveat I see is, that from one range to the next, if the material of the flags is heavier or lighter, you will be close to a correlation but probably not exactly the same as what you memorized from a previous match or practice. 🤷🏼♂️
I'm seeing the difference between practical shooting ie hunting and competition ie having to shoot in conditions a hunter would pass up for ethical reasons. Interesting contrast in purposes.
I think the 98/2 is the same ratio for all high level sports. I can not swing a golf club for a year and still beat 98% of competitors in most scenarios. To beat any of the Top 5 players, I would have to work my ass off and minimize mistakes to almost nothing. That 2% is a totally different game all together.
@@BelieveTheTarget I noticed Kris'audio was quite a bit lower than yours on this video. This can cause problems on some devices. This could be what he was talking about.
As Robin says, it must be dependent on the device being used as on my iPad the respective volume levels are not particularly different - although Eric is the louder of the two (that’s not a criticism 😉).
Love Chris’s energy. He is so fired up about the shooting sports. I have so much to learn.
The shooter has a higher SD than most of the other elements in the equation, working on the shooter is key.

Great pod. Great prospective on the subject.

Eric. I challenge you to get Ryan Cleckner on here. Lets see if you got that kind of pull
done
I listened to it yesterday. I like Ryans practical take on rifle shooting

You got that right, it's a individual challenge, but a shared sport at the same time
Glad you kicked out both Frank and Chris’s interviews. Great stuff Erik!
Where I deer hunt max range is about 30 yards. I sight in at 25.
Yes talk to Rayn
My ears are open
So much knowledge into such a short time. Keep em coming Eric!
He's a rock climber as I was for a long time. I'm in. Lol I'm definitely a fan.
Chris and Erik nice talk, going to bed, thanks to both
Shooting Lazer is so much easier than lobbing bullets . No wind and mirage.
Great analogy in the beginning. I love that “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear”
1:45ish
slow is smooth, smooth is fast
Man the one I wanted to hear the most I can’t
Which one is that?

@@AF1RETZ Thank you. I'll work on that on the upcoming videos.
