I've noticed that it records each scene in three formats, MP4, LRV, and THM (still photo). I don't need the LRV and THM. Is it possible to have the camera only record in the MP4 format? Also, the date shows up in the upper left corner of my videos, even though I have the Date Stamp turned OFF in Settings. Is this normal?

@@Snipeoff Thankyou for replying. I also delete LRV and THM footage after recording. I was hoping to avoid having to do that. Once, I mistakenly deleted some MP4 footage.
I have found that the camera records at a variable framerate, even if you have it set to 30, 60 or 90 accordingly. @Paulo Grave, hey thx for commenting, in my honest opinion this model out performs the V50 Pro in almost every way. That's not to say the V50 Pro isn't a good camera I still use mine every day, but the quality of video I'm getting out of the V50 X is just better looking to me.
Hello, first of all thanks for the video, helped me a lot to decide to buy one. What should I do? I bought it via Amazon I don't know if contact Amazon or the company or what... Can someone help me? Thank you again!!
I'm not entirely sure the best course of action...🤔 I would recommend contacting Akaso first, then try Amazon customer support...as far as the external mic, I haven't been able to confirm that is an actual feature in the new update. Also you said there is no image stabilization...do you have an option that says "gyroscope"?
@@Snipeoff yes, I have the option of the gyroscope, but in the user manual it said I should have aswell the image stabilization and the external microphone option. What’s the app that you use? Is it RoadCam? And I just got this camera and mine doesn’t come with the image stabilization option like yours. And it’s exactly the same camera. Do you know why?
Yes Roadcam is the app that Akaso recommends, but I haven't used it yet. As far as image stabilization it should be in the video settings right under resolution...if it's not...I would try resetting the camera and see if it shows up. Let me know if that works.
Snipeoff thanks for the quick answer. Did the reset on the camera. And on your video it shows after the resolution the video stabilization and on mine shows resolution and then Gyroscope. You can use 128GB Samsung EVO U3 on this camera. in 1080p 60 fps mode my estimate is around 700 minutes. The camera allows continuous shooting until the power runs out. Each time you shoot the video, the files are broken into 3GB in size, in 1080p 60 fps mode each 3GB file plays for 16.5 minutes.

@Zac .... areas people make mistakes when comparing video/cams is 1. they often view the edited video - instead of the raw footage (and they have unknowingly altered the quality, via editing with the wrong settings. 2. The device they view their footage (edited or raw) doesn't support the resolution. 3. They look at the video on TH-cam (1. TH-cam can butcher things, 2. they don't check the playback resolution from youtube.) 4. Their SD card is not up to the resolution. 5. They watch directly off the SD card (the device card reader is not up to the task for playback) 6. SD card is too slow (WRITE SPEED) If you edit video - Check the finished video stats vrs the original video. Use a program like mediainfo, the details need to be similar, or you have degraded the quality from editing I recommend watching on a TV, via a micro HDMI to HDMI cable, from the cam General advise. I don't have any Akaso 4 Eken cams and 1 Xiaomi Mijia 4k

In my opinion the V50X's stabilization is much better then the V50PRO
X is more stable but the sound is terrible
nice review i ordered one I'll be going to use it on my motovlogs
how many gb card can i use???
thanks
I think the max is 64gb
Hello, Can you keep the gyroscope on while using 70° viewing angle? Does the quality changes when we change viewing angles?
Yup you can keep Gyroscope and EIS on with 70° viewing angle, and the image quality seems the same on all angles 👍
@@Snipeoff Thank you very much for replying sir. I have one more question, can we change the white balance, and how long is the longest shutter speed is? I think I am going to order this after watching your review. 😀
@@nord7556 So you can change the white balance between 5 presets...no manual adjustment thou, and the longest exposure time is 30 seconds, thanks for commenting.
How to use zoom??
It's the two buttons on the side 👍🏻
@@Snipeoff tq
I purchased one from the official website but I don’t have the option of image stabilisation as you have in the v50x.. felt like I got cheated
You're the third or fourth person to comment that 😟, I don't have any clue as to why that would be, I bought mine from Amazon, but that shouldn't make a difference...
i bought from amazon too and don't have image stabilization
@@Snipeoff I got it fix thru the update they sent me . Thank you very much !
Awesome 👍😁
Does it support external mic?
Not that I'm aware, they don't say it does...but I don't have one to try
Does this camera support external microphone? please let me know
As of the last firmware update I was told it does now. I haven't confirmed that yet thou
Yes Madhav with the latest firmware it does support external microphone
SNIPE Get this or spend 4x more for the new Gopro 8 in a few weeks? (NOT a pro)
I would get this one, because I'm cheap 😂, and it fits in my budget better, I can tell you this camera is a tough little sucker too, it's gotten rained on...and I use it to record all day long in the hot sun with a battery pack plugged into it.
Go check out my house videos, all the shots that are from different angles around the house, (not the one high corner shot) are recorded with the V50 X
@@Snipeoff For the average person its good? I dont edit or do "post" want to just record like on a cell phone and upload.. Do Ineed a gimbal?
@@BOOSTEDLASER I'd say that it would work out fine for you bud, I don't really think a gimbal is necessary either, but that's just me
Did u enable gyroscope with stabilization?
Yeah it was on, but I can't for the life of me figure out what the gyroscope setting does...I don't notice any change 🤷🏼♂️
@@Snipeoff Thank u so much for this review by the way. This review made me go and buy this model... I just unboxed it few mins ago and went back to ur video to see what's up since there was no manual lol..
@@OrganikVisions No problem, you're welcome...Thanks for the encouragement 🙂
@@Snipeoff I used it 1 time and now my stabilization option is gone from the menu. Any ideas? Only now have gyroscope weird
@@OrganikVisions that is so weird...you know what? I'm gonna contact Akaso and see if I can get to the bottom of this.
What firmware are you on? My V50X is completely missing the EIS option for some reason.
I haven't updated it since I got it, I would need to check my firmware version thou, I'll get back to you, just to let you know I also contacted Akaso regarding this issue, I'm waiting for a response from them
Ok so my firmware version is V50X-FX-20190531-V1.0
Snipeoff wow, so you have an earlier firmware build. They must have broken something in mine. Hopefully I can get an update from them. Mine is V50X-fx-20190619-v1.0
@@JohnZimmerman84 the EIS on V50X is call Gyroscope. I just found out
I am confused to which one to buy, the V50 Elite or V50x? I usually do alot of B-roll videos and montage
I can't really say in regards to that, I haven't used the V50 Elite, but I do like my V50X it shoots awesome footage

Hi. Can I use 128 GB microsd with this camera?
The specifications say that it will only go up to a 64GB micro SD, I don't actually have a 128GB right now to try, or I would. Hope this helps
@@Snipeoff what brand of sd card do you use? Thank you.
@Sarah Santos I use PNY and Samsung
Is the picture quality better than v50 pro ?
Yes, I would say it is 👍
@@Snipeoff Thank you very much 😊
Hi, I’m interested in buying this AKASO V 50 X, I read on the manuel that it's possible to turn OSD on/off, but furthermore does it have a clean HDMI output as I plan to use it for streaming live, and I don't need the informations to show on screen :-)
Can I broadcast while charging via usb ?
Thanks
Does the Pro, Elite and X have the same type of batteries?
I don't know about the Elite but unfortunately the Pro and X aren't the same.
@@Snipeoff Thx, to bad tho.
Are you sure this is better than v50 pro?
@Paulo Grave, hey thx for commenting, in my honest opinion this model out performs the V50 Pro in almost every way. That's not to say the V50 Pro isn't a good camera I still use mine every day, but the quality of video I'm getting out of the V50 X is just better looking to me.
@@Snipeoff thanks, i ordered one v50x a couple days ago but there are no reviews, so i thought it was inferior to the v50 pro!
Paulo Grave this is the updated generation, so it’s hard to make a comparison between them.
V50pro has a better Mic than x
Hello, first of all thanks for the video, helped me a lot to decide to buy one.
It arrived two days ago and I just realized that in the video settings there is not the image stabilization option, it's missing, same as external microphone. Is this an mistake of the company?
I can see in your camera you also have both, image stabilization and gyroscope, witch is the difference? I will try to contact akaso and see what they say.
Thank you a lot!
@@irunetxarola4944 You need to update your camera to latest firmware and then you will get the EIS option and the external mic will work as well, but the mic has to be bought from akaso as other microphone do not work with it. Also, yes Gyroscope if the EIS in your current firmware
Great Review! 4k EIS works well 2.7K not so much...
Panning with any camera is tough. The white balance keeps changing causing discoloration.
Can you use EIS with a gimbal?
Yes
No video stabilization. Same camera. I’ve send an email to Akaso to see what they answer. But it’s really strange
@@rubencaldeira2462 That is very strange indeed, could be a firmware issue, Akaso has been very helpful in the past, they should be able to get it sorted for you. 😉
Snipeoff thanks. I’m still waiting for their response. So let’s hope they tell the solution for this one.
Did you get this sorted Ruben? I've just bought a V50x and I have the same problem, no image stabilisation setting in video settings menu. I have email Akaso customer services and I'm waiting for their reply.
i use this v50X to record my sons tennis while the background noise so loud which is very weird. I place the camera with QM-1 mount above the tennis court fence. is it the wind sound very loud? still very weird.
Hii bro it can use external mic for motovlog plz reply..
i bought from amazon too and don't have image stabilization
Same with me.. only has gyroscope
Eis
What kind of sd card recomeded? My akaso always alert lowspeed sd card. Im using sandisk class 10 u1

Thank for review am going buy this one .but what about external mic plz reply
I have read that, with the new firmware version, that it supports an external mic now
Pls help me, I dnt know how to connect this to my phone. What app should I use
Akaso recommendeds using an app called Roadcam, after you have that, you need to turn on the wifi on the camera and connect to it with your phone...then you can open Roadcam and you should be able to add the camera then

@@Snipeoff omgㅠㅠ
if you get 256gb later, try it plzzzz
hello😃 how many gb(sd card) arr you using???
if you are use 128gb,how many can you take?(when recording by 1080p 60fps)
""Samsung 64GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC EVO Select Micro SD Card is Highly Recommended for V50X Native 4K Action Camera (Micro SD card is not included). Please format the card (not included) in the camera before using this action camera.""
Hi bro. I found this camera very interesting, so Im kinda in doubt, this or Yi Lite? If you are familiar with Yi, how does it performs compered with V50X? Looking forward for timelapse video 👍
I was actually considering the Yi lite, when I bought my V50 Pro. I don't have any experience with the Yi Lite thou, I think ultimately it comes down to just a couple small differences and personal preference. So far in my experience thou, I don't think you could go wrong with the V50X. Yeah Part 2 should be posted within a week, thanks for the interest. FYI all the other camera angles in Part 2, besides the tall one on the corner of the house, will be shot with the V50X.

@@selmir_ze No worries 😊, so I haven't gotten a chance to use it in the wind, but the audio quality seems very good to me.
Great camera but.....What I don’t like about it is the app’s. They require you to provide your location. Why? (A rhetorical question because you know why.)
Very good at 4K and 2.7K. Unfortunately 1080P is pretty bad and unusable, so is the slow mo. If you shoot 1080P a lot go with 6 Brave Plus

Shame the audio goes out of sync after 4 mins recording in 4k for sure
Can anyone get the road cam to work, would like to control camera from my phone ??
Yes, it is easy, just press the up button on the camera once it will switch on the wifi the connect your phone to that WiFi and open the road cam app on your phone
Nice
2.7k EIS on is very shaky.
You know, I did notice that later on reviewing the footage, it could have just been a fluke thou

Hello again,
I have a problem with my akaso v50. The thing is that when I copied my videos to my computer the reproducion frezzes really often for a second or so (with the gyroscope on). When I reproduce them in the app this image freezings doesn´t happen. Any idea what is happening?
Also, I don´t know if is my phone problem but I can´t download the videos to my phone, I can do it with the pictures though. Is possible to change the video format?
Thanks a lot
Irune
I just got a V50x and it doesn't look good.. first the picture quality is horrible.. you can see dots without even zooming in.. the pixelation is disgusting.. and the video quality on 4k30 looks not more than 2mp.. I can't believe I paid $100 for it.. honestly it's just a toy.. not even for adults.. I tried all setting and all features.. all didn't like except the slow motion..
I am returning the camera first thing on Monday..
@zak I'm sorry to hear that, It has been an awesome camera for me this far, no complaints
@@Snipeoff is your review sponsored by Akaso?
@Zac
.... areas people make mistakes when comparing video/cams is
1. they often view the edited video - instead of the raw footage (and they have unknowingly altered the quality, via editing with the wrong settings.
2. The device they view their footage (edited or raw) doesn't support the resolution.
3. They look at the video on TH-cam (1. TH-cam can butcher things, 2. they don't check the playback resolution from youtube.)
4. Their SD card is not up to the resolution.
5. They watch directly off the SD card (the device card reader is not up to the task for playback)
6. SD card is too slow (WRITE SPEED)
If you edit video - Check the finished video stats vrs the original video.
Use a program like mediainfo, the details need to be similar, or you have degraded the quality from editing
I recommend watching on a TV, via a micro HDMI to HDMI cable, from the cam
General advise.
I don't have any Akaso
4 Eken cams and 1 Xiaomi Mijia 4k
The Image Stabilizer does not Work. It goes on and Off by itself. SAVE AGRAVATION
It can't be active at the same time as distortion correction, that could be your issue. Let me know if that helps 🤷🏼♂️
@@Snipeoff Nope I removed and the Button does not respond. I tried with the touch screen and the buttons and no response. I was so excited about his company . No wonder they are so cheap. The frustration is NOT worth the 200 bucks difference

Well thank you, and I'm sorry to hear you're having that frustration....I would definitely see if you could get them to send you a replacement. It could just be a bad egg, I've been happy with mine. I even left it in a rain storm without the case and it still works 😅.
So you make a review of an "action" camera yet you dont show it in action just walking. Any who wants to buy it wants it to be used in action, like motorcycles or cars, not walking .
