My dad took me on rides on his in the mid 90s..I was 9-12 or so those years. Once when I was 10, maybe 11 he let me ride in front and control the bars and shifting and that was it for me. I never got to ride dirtbikes or anything cuz of where we lived but I did the MSF thing when I was 21 and motorcycles have been front and center in my life since. Ive been riding in the yard with my 18mo son on a xr100 strapped to a carrier and recently now on a crf50 with him sitting in front hanging on to the bars just like my dad let me. My most cherished motorcycle memories and I’ve done a lot on 2 wheels

About to get me one this week, decided to go with this as first bike, and am pretty freaking excited to get it. Going to be a fun summer, haha, and watching you ride is making me even more excited, and happy I went with it as first bike

This is a great video to show at a safety training course. No need to stop at stop signs, as they are really just a Yield sign, no need to wear safety gear as they are to expensive, and also a good idea to keep changing lanes and of course no need to signal. Also best to sneak up on as many cars blinds spots as possible.

vt500's were fun little bikes.but the vf500's was where the fun meter really peaked.ALOT more power from the same sized bike.but were only made 2 years.i guess people would pay for torque, but not for the high horse version.hence only 2 years of sales.

I have ridden motorcycles on and off since 1972. My favorite was the 1987 version of this bike. It was old enough to vote when I had to sell it. Two reasons for that. It was getting harder to get some parts. And, of course, needed some money. Yet it was kept in showroom shape and I got my asking price when sold. I just got a 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan and have already started spiffing it up.

Love the video. You are located about 40-45Kms from me. This year I picked-up a 1985 VT500C. Makes me want to get out on the road soon. Where did you get the highway bars for your Shadow? Want to get a set for my bike but have a time finding them. Also, what camera set-up did you use to shoot this super clear video? thanks in advance for the reply.

Sorry missed your comment! The highway/crash bars were on the bike when I got it so honestly not sure where you could pick one up. Maybe ebay? Camera setup is a GoPro Hero 8 on my helmets chin mount. Cheers.
