I had 6 Bonacell np-f batteries, work fined for about 6 months, but now three have cracked and fallen apart, while the other 3 barely hold charge anymore

Wow, That’s terrible. I’ll stay away from that brand👍

I’m wondering what’s ur opinion on using a 970 for a handycam is it dumb or what cause I have a real Sony 970 and it works for my old handycam but is it overkill or what

Hey! It depends on the battery options you already have. What handycam do you have? What batteries?

The Powerextra NP-F960/F970 are straight up scams. They claim to be 8800mAh, which would mean that each of the 18650 lithium cells are 2933.333mAh each (which no manufacture advertise their cells as having a fraction of an amp hour) . The battery packs are configured as a 2S3P - 2 cells in series, 3 of those in parallel, and series cells adds up voltages while parallel cells add up amp hours.
Now that I know this, I'm going to check the rated specs of the battery packs before I even consider buying them. If they can't even fake the numbers correctly, what else can't we trust them with?
