Finally some Ike redemption! The guys makes a great omni tank, and he really shines from his prf skill Great Aether with much needed atk power and effects. Plus, Laguz Friend 4 just adds to the fire power. Thanks for breaking down the skills, cause wow they went all out writing a novel for him.

Thank you for breaking down each chapter of the book of Ike, but man is Emblem Ike so good. He's basically a powerhouse omnitank where instead of the weapon, it's the prf skill that makes him stand out. Good thing Great Aether is not the one from Smash Bros cause that would be too OP, lmao.

The banner looks pretty stacked, especially on red. In fact, i would say that L! Elincia and Emblem Ike alone pretty much makes it one of the best red color sharing we've gotten in a while. Embla does look like the least enticing one from the red group though due to being rather old.
All that being said, the banner line up this month has been pretty stacked, with AHR banner, the Double Special Hero banner with Ninja Sanaki, and we have the kids Banner next month too, so i wonder how this banner will do in comparison to those.

OMG HE GOT THE SMASH BROS MOVE! Lol, I know it's meant to be from Engage, but man does it make him tanky along with Laguz Fiend 4. Just nice to see something good for Ike after how outdated all of his alts have increasingly become.
I mean Fire Emblem has taken stuff from Smash Bros a lot if I'm not mistaken. Although I don't know what came first, Great Aether in FE or Great Aether in Brawl
@@pigeonleader Brawl, Great Aether *never* existed in any FE game prior to Engage. There's only the normal version of Aether.
Another thing taken from Smash is Corrin's Negating Fang, which is actually Counter Surge.

I can't believe "Laguz Friend" doesn't have an effect that consider you a beast unit for allied beast units transformation effects or something. Would've been a really cool effect
Thats because the skill name is Indomitable/Immovable in JP and has nothing to do with Laguz, in Engage it halves damage and set evade to 0.
If Ike's using a sword when he canonically has an axe as an emblem, no one is safe. Sigurd will have Tyrfing for the fiftieth time. Lyn will shoot swords out of her bow. Celica will st*b people with her Recover staff.
They'll give Emblem Micaiah the Mystletain tome animation just so she can use a sword. It's Smash Bros discourse all over again it's all just swords
Veronica gets a gun
Emblem Ike uses Ragnell as his final weapon, and as a boss in his paralogue. For the weapon sync skill, Ike is considered a sword emblem as well.
Ike only teaches the axe power skill, he is canonically a sword emblem.

Why is Ike a Radiant Dawn unit? I thought Ike was meant to represent Path of Radiance, while Micaiah represents Radiant Dawn.
Tbf, Ike is more popular than Micaiah, plus his older self is much better than his 17 year old self from Path of Radiance
Well considering his outfit is from the very beginning of Radiant Dawn, it's quite likely that he still represents Path of Radiance. It's also why he doesn't have a conversation with the Ashera Dark Emblem during Endgame, but does have one for the Ashnard Dark Emblem.

My guess is that it's specifically his Radiant Dawn design, instead of his design in Path of Radiance.
@ResurgentRaven in Engage yes, in heroes not. There's a clear Radiant Dawn symbol in the top left corner.

#Question What kinds of interesting ways could they implement new Emblem Heroes in the future? Emblem Marth's Potent skill implements Divine Speed and now Emblem Ike implements Laguz Friend and Great Aether the closest it could to this game.

It’s kinda not a great idea imo, cause B;Dimitri appreciates the actual DR% that he gets from his B slot or Gambit, because it boosts the value of his damage subtraction. Laguz friend nerfs DR%
I think Laguz Friend could also be good on an Ignis Diamant. He could even use another c slot because he has tempo built into the weapon which will cause ignis to fire off each time

laguz friend + this ike's engage skill feels like a brave dimitri buff. like yeah he's outdated but it will be interesting to see how he will hold up against the modern nukes (not lyon) we have with laguz friend + engaged with ike
This was my immediate thought - Laguz Friend, Godlike Reflexes and Time's Pulse 4 with Ike's emblem ring gives three consistent sources of non-pierceable damage reduction, full damage reduction piercing and a lot of Def-based true damage
Back to killing every last one of them? ...other than Lyon? 😅
@@nathancory7278probably not tbh, i mean, is Dimitri even going to be fast enough to do GLR for one. If it doesn’t trigger he doesn’t get the piercing from Laguz friend. And he was slow at launch. he also doesn’t have DR% on the second hit if his opponent has brave, just -dmg taken. 40% def -Dmg taken can probably be a lot, but without DR% it’s basically just glorified def/res.
@@samkeiser9776 He can get a lot faster than he looks so GLR isn't a complete meme on him, but you're probably right it may lack consistency against units like W!Yunaka.
I've been using him with Rally Spectrum support for Ignis retaliations and was meaning to give No Quarter, but now he can give his own jump, has more unpiercable damage reduction and his special still pierces DR itself. I don't think he's going to be as top meta as he was when he first got the refine but he's definitely cooking a bit ngl
So is the Flat DR from Laguz Friend 4 piercable? I think it is but I just want to make sure before I start crafting builds

The Duo Rerun IS kinda mid too, I just need Duo Seidr and Yunaka for Fodder.
And the Mythic banner is also underwelming in my opinion.

His B skill on diamant will go crazy. 45% of def as true reduction and instant ignis (or aether but ignis will probably do more). Even crazier when engaged with ike as well, but then you'd need 2 of them. Diamant could be back on top as a peak omni tank (though ike himself is a brilliant user of it too)

YESHHHHH IKE ALT! Hes my favourite fire emblem character in the franchise 🤩😜. I even bought the plush Ike online a month ago!
This is the worst timing for me. This month has destroyed my orbs, and now my favourite FE protagonist gets a Engage version. And he looks great. Send help.
I'm so glad I've had enough self control to hoard my orbs in anticipation of the CYL banner. I've got well over 400 at the moment and since Ike's my favorite character _and_ his Hero outfit is my favorite design for him, there's no chance I'm skipping that one.
I spent everything on alear and have no orb for him, but I will try get him some way.

So how would Ike's Emblem Ring interact with Unit's who already have some form of Non-piercable DR like Godlike Reflexes?

Such a good banner 🙏 I want an Elincia (slowly merging her up), 2 Ikes (Laguz Friend seems very fun on Diamant), and a Nino (Gaius food). Also wouldn’t say no to a Camilla. Hoping it goes well!
Damage reduction from specials is very oppressive if you aren't using AoEs or precombat damage, and this guy takes that to ludicrous extremes.
Except most modern nukes are AoE and do pre-dmg. And only against ranged... and guess who happens to be the best Galeforce user in the game right now..
My big question is if his Emblem effect multiplicatively stacks with Defensive Specials like GLR and Frostbite Mirror?

Didn't expect Ike so soon at all which is why I don't have as many orbs for him as I would want but going for 1 for sure to engage with my +10 Brave Soren.
IS was tired of people saying tanks are dead whenever they release a slow bulky unit. So they said "Tanks are dead huh, oh we'll show you. 😈"
They sure showed players alright! By him barely living to a base kit bandaid thunderhands, which both doesn't inspire confidence and mocks those that pulled and invested on him by giving him a pathetic showing.
I am also surprised that we got a red character instead of green. But hey, I still take Ike.

I know Laguz Friend 4 is a mistranslation, but I do wish Beast units could transform next to Human Units from Same Title(s). I have my L!Ike supported with my Ranulf and it was kinda sad he couldnt transform until we got the tier 4 B slots thats removed the transformation condition.
even tho i was joking about him being next im happy to see him have a decent kit i just hope it works the way i read it

So glad it is red and not green, can really appreciate Embla merges as mine is -atk. Ike as a unit is just a plus for me and I also think Marth's effect is better, but hey, still useful to have the emblem effect and the B skill as food for extra copies if they come. Tina is nice to steal Gotoh's effect and make AoE relevant in dark still which is reaaally needing a new useful mythic.

Ike is the Emblem "of Radiance" not "of Radiant"
Micaiah's title is the Emblem "of Dawn" for Radiant Dawn.
@@176DoubleA I mean, this hero in FEHeroes is from the game Radiant Dawn (Wii) and counts as one from there. In FE Engage we have emblems from each game, one for Path of Radiance (Ike) and one for Radiant Dawn (Micaiah). So in this banner they have broken the original correspondence

Been using him in AR today. He just won’t die bro. Lowest he got was 19 hp and proceeded to get 2 dmg by a blue tome. He has been soloing all my enemies. Ike Forever!
Now I have to wonder how many Emblems will keep their original weapons now that we have Ike with Ragnell, because as Sothis once pointed out, "too many swordsmen, are there?"

I wasn’t expecting Ike since Sigurd or celica came to mind on the next emblem hero but you know what we like Ike so I ain’t hearing any complaints plus I think we need help tanking duo to flare damage.

Finally - a not currently terrible Ike!
(I know Fallen Ike can do things but he requires quite some investment)
He’s not going to be that good, he might have insane damage reduction on consecutive hits, but that first hit is going to blow him up, especially considering the nukes of the current meta. Laguz Friend is good, but Ike is just okay. Lyon, Sanaki, and all of the other huge damage nukes are still going to erase Ike from existence…. Especially those with Assassin’s or Occultist’s Strike. 30% unpiercable DR really isn’t special, it’s Sacred Cowl, Ice Mirror 1, Escutcheon… that’s not a lot of protection. He’s like a unpiercable Fomortiis without Nightmare and Save skills.

I beseech you, I have been trying to create an Omni tank build with normal Rinkah and immovable 4.
But I believe due to how my meager mind interpreted your transcendent knowledge, I believe that godlike reflexes is the only special that can give her the full damage reduction she requires and the issue is she already has the notable special cooldown count -1 on her weapon.
Please Lord Pheonixmaster1 answer my prayers and instruct me on which special will give her the greatest advantages.
Haha GLR is actually the best special for even with Laguz Friend/Immovable 4 because the Cooldown condition is only there for damaging specials and not for defensive specials like GLR! So it works out! :)

Laguz friend 4 seems to stack with stat dr without cutting it - tested on my Askr and he cuts nearly 30 dmg for free

The funny thing is I haven’t seen anyone use duo Leon in a cav line yet they usually use Christmas yunaka, duo sanaki or legendary lilia or they forget cav and just do an infantry line instead cause of duo igrene or legendary hinoka.
I feel like that with all this percentage DR and unpierceable DR based specials running around Nanna’s earth sword is just gaining more value because of it unfortunately she herself is struggling to keep up with the newer units even with better skills hopefully a good refine and remix can help her, but it’s weird that Earth swords effect hasn’t been introduced again since her release.🤔
i think they could make ike more busted, he's basically attuned caeda with null-c but a LOT of less stats and way less flat dr
