I snagged the box start version of this engine and to my surprise this engine rips no joke, I put a RB short needle carb on it and did a lil modifying to the crank..mostly to the induction side of the window and raised the export in the middle by 1.2mm and tapered it down to ..25mm higher than the stock height on the ends and wow it FUXXX! I like it more than my modded 32s no bs. Shes at 1.5 gallon and the crank still hasnt wore the pin. Its a winner . Hyper .30 ftw! My new favorite basher 100%. I need to put a long needle 9mm carb on it then it will be perfect
I just got one, pull start is still in one piece so far. I think they coat the cord in WAX to reduce friction, when it gets hot and mixes with the little bit of engine oil, it makes a mess- so far mine is OK.
Update, cord snapped when I was getting it to BDC after a run, popped off like nothing- Been doing this for 25 years, first time I had one break so easily. So unfortunately, I'd highly recommend a bump box, or upgrade to roto-start.
Interesting, never seen that green crap before. BTW, there's a COPS pullstart delete available now, I have a video on how to the conversion to a regular pullstart if you're tired of that annoying green handle.
Hey man, I’ve also never seen that green color from the starter assembly before and I know for a fact I have had a hobao go through about three of these pull starters so far and never any green liquid came out. I will definitely check out your video. I appreciate your comment. Let’s hope to make this thing super great And reliable.
Hey my dude! So NYC has been having some serious temperature swings the past few weeks, it's ben about 60 one day here too, must be the effects of global climate change and weather patterns. Right now it's 22 degrees, but a few days form ow should be high 50s.. Sickening right..
Hey man, thanks for checking out this video, you are correct that green dye is certainly from the pull starter assembly. The question is what is it? Therefore, it does not seem to be a lubricant, so what is the purpose?
Totally Sickening Green HOBAO pull start exploded, lol. Must be a way or them to know if you tried to over pull it super hard and to void your warranty - what you guys think??
That could be, however I owned the hyper cage buggy (orange) with the Mac 28 and cops and the same thing happened to me.SICKENING Now I just got the same car with the black roll cage, haven't ran it yet but first I will buy a starter box😅 SICKENING 😊Thanks hybrid for all you do,and nitro gang.
LOL, you said it right!! Im thinking the new HOABO pull-starters have a green ink cartridge inside which explodes when you pull the starter too hard or too far out, this way they can deny you warranty. Only logical think I can think of, the old pull starters did not have the green ink inside.
Hey bro! For the price that HOBAO is a good value, once that HYPER 30 engine is tuned it def gets the high RPMs, but the tune seems to have a tiny window where it runs well and does to seem lean. The handling was also super impressive.
hey my dude! This Is my first time coming across the green ink in those starters, and I've tested and seen multiple busted hobao hyper 30 starters over the years. I'm thinking its a new thing they do to prevent successful warranty claims. A way to know if a driver is trying to kill that starter lol..
@@hybrid32494yeah probably when green stuff came out when I first noticed I thought I damaged something in the pullstart first time starting it as well 😂
hey man! Yes, this must be their new way to see if people are trying to kill the pull-starter. I remember the older HOBAO models didn't have the green ink. Must be a way for them to deny a warranty claim.
I have never seen green come out of my pull starter and I have my Hyper SS cage buggy for 12yrs. Do the rotor start back plate its way better and if you want a 2 speed you cxn use the GTB nitro road cars center diff and clutch bell. The cetre braces change them the aluminum Ive never bent or changed the chassis there a tuff buggy.
bro mine did the same thing ., It’s some kind of oil they use in there that comes out when you first get it. It’ll stop coming out after a little while.
hey my dude! The question is, was your Pullstart cord covered in that green ink as it was in this video. I've seen other busted Habao COPS pull starters and they never had that ink. I'm thinking its a new thing they do to prevent successful warranty claims. A way to know if a driver is trying to kill that starter lol..

Hey man, thanks for checking out. This video means a lot to me to have some fellow Nitro supporters here. I would still recommend you pick up the Nitro. It’s still a great chassis, and a very good value and after the test drive, I think you could agree to that. Only thing is the center diff is very loose. It will need some thicker shock oil.
if you were to get only one truggy witch would it be ? losi 8t rtr, hpi vorza or the hobao ? hows that hyper 30 engine treating you ? i have it in my hobao hyper mt and its been giving me issues(not my only nitro i have others that run well)
Hobao all the way. The losi is a decent truck and has a proven race pedigree, but I feel the plastic shocks and turnbuckles are a deal killer. The Vorza isn't isn't in the same league IMHO. Hobao has some of the smoothest diffs and shocks in the industry. I just broke in my new SST, and while its difficult to start, once it's started, it runs like a top. I'd say get a starter box regardless what you buy, big block engines are very hard on pull starters.
Hey man, thanks for checking out this video. You are correct that is the green dye, but the question is why is there green dye in the post order to begin with? The only reason I can come up with is it some sort of visual aid to deny a warranty claim in the future to the user.
I’ve never liked that engine in that truck. It’s really hard to keep tuned and you can hear how Rich is running too right. After it heats up, you have to constantly keep returning it I mess around with that engine for over a year.
Hey man, thanks for checking out this video. Yes, this thing run surprisingly well although I would say it needs much thicker center diff fluid because you could tell the front wheels are really loose and the back get much less power as it accelerates.

Sickening!!! I have been waiting for the review on the .30 Hobao engine!!! I guess I need to use my starter box lol

That crash was sickening, sweet video dude !
Thsnks my dude! Yes im glad i got that jato crash ok video.
it's 15 degrees here w wind chill of 0. your a brave one wearing a t-shirt

I think that green stuff is the ink dye from the pull start cord
Hey man, thanks for checking out this video, you are correct that green dye is certainly from the pull starter assembly. The question is what is it? Therefore, it does not seem to be a lubricant, so what is the purpose?
1 speed is all you need!! those .30's are loud
great throwback to the techno viking there at the end - that was my shit in high school
Totally Sickening Green HOBAO pull start exploded, lol. Must be a way or them to know if you tried to over pull it super hard and to void your warranty - what you guys think??

I believe it's just nitro that got into the coil and removed some of the dye from the string... had it happen on a hpi 4.6 truggy
Maybe that green stuff is what happens when nitro fuel meets oil, lube,,,like paint yellow and blue mixed make green???? Sickening
Great Muta Edition!!!!!!!! Sickening

I ordered all the pieces needed, and I built the roll cage for it and ditch the body. I’ve got a few pictures of it on my Facebook page somewhere.
🔥🔥🔥
When the good weathers turns up lets burn some nitro bro!
We need more coverage on this please
Love the slow mo crash! How do you find that model?
Hey bro! For the price that HOBAO is a good value, once that HYPER 30 engine is tuned it def gets the high RPMs, but the tune seems to have a tiny window where it runs well and does to seem lean. The handling was also super impressive.
That engine really sings when you let it out.
Sickening video
thanks my dude!! Just making sure to keep nitro in the spotlight you know!! NItroGang! .
This is a great video! Love Habao! They have a Roto start for that Truggy on their USA website! Long live NITRO!! 🎯🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟-🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯☝️!!
My nitro car hobao hyper mt sport pullstart does have green stuff inside it I think it’s totally normal it’s got the exact same engine in it as well
hey my dude! This Is my first time coming across the green ink in those starters, and I've tested and seen multiple busted hobao hyper 30 starters over the years. 0.29... Nitro's kryptonite... 😁👽‼️💯🔥🛢️🏁🏎️🤓🇨🇵
Lol. Ur right!! Haha. Never seem that before.
My mates hyper had same green lub coming out the pull start bro
hey man! Yes, this must be their new way to see if people are trying to kill the pull-starter. I remember the older HOBAO models didn't have the green ink. Must be a way for them to deny a warranty claim.
I love the brakes on it they're perfect how long would it take to replace them and how much would it cost
I have been seeing those macstar engines popping up for fairly cheap. Looks like good little power plant.
do not even touch the mac*28 engines they are nothing but problems
Let her sing!!!!!!!
What type of camera are you using on the car ? Thx
Would you say the Vorza Truggy is better than the Hobao Truggy any thoughts 🤘

My hyper vs2 did the same thing the rear back plate leaks some fuel/oil into cops pull start makes a mess
hey my dude! The question is, was your Pullstart cord covered in that green ink as it was in this video. I've seen other busted Habao COPS pull starters and they never had that ink. Haha sometimes the fuel acts as a paint thinner. Pull the line all the way out and shoot some wd40 down in to the pull start.
Nice pit crew
I got the electric roller, should have got the nitro one.

Where is that track located? It should of had a 2speed on it.
The green is the die in the pull rope

❤🎉😮😊ไฟไฟไฟแอดพ์
thank you my friend!>
lol bleeding green yes hobao does that hand stained every time i start that thing
