Losing in the first round of the fa cup with a very poor display is no blessing in disguise, however much we would like to gloss over it. The movement by the strikers were very poor in the box again, ( palmer and mulls ) and unfortunately we taking a huge gamble on faal and the icelandic bloke we recently signed if replaced any. Our recruitment in strikers has been poor to be honest for a couple of seasons now and paying 600k for faal comes across a massive gamble , When we get in and around the box we continually looking to get it wide to the wingbacks. We are very one dimensional with parky and its painful to watch sometimes especially away from home.
McClean is not suspended Saturday. 4 yellows in league, one in Carabo cup, but that cup one does not count. Just like Dobson’s yellow today doesn’t count toward Saturday. Basing on quick google search. Cards are cup/trophy specific. “Yellow cards are competition specific…” is the quick summation. *Cannon is also on 4 yellows. That makes 3 on cusp of a ban
Andy, Morgan Freeman is on line 1! And when you’re done, Morgan Fairchild is on 2! You lot really fell apart at the end! Good to see! Keep it light lads! Or keep it Harden!! Great show, as always!
I liked Tim’s soliloquy about “when do we shake things up” He echoed my thoughts on the recent run of form . I hope Bodvarrsson steps up and in- then January. There hasn’t been much said about Lee and his effectiveness this season. Here’s hoping we hang around the too and use some nee money in January
We'll go as far as we possible based on Paul Mullin's performances. We need him to be the predator that he has been the last two seasons. Unfortunately, he was off the mark on Saturday. Looked great in his one goal this season at Rotherham. Let's go SPM!
The offense needs an upgrade in some way, no doubt about it. The team scored 11 goals in their first 5 League One games, and in the 8 games since, has only scored 10 goals (4 vs Northampton, a bottom table team). Tossing the Northampton game, they have scored 6 goals total in the last 7 League One games. That's a trend. Any chance Luke Armstrong will be available from Carlisle? They are bottom of the table
google alexander keith’s in Halifax- a regional brand/ small national brand in Canada. They do tours historically liberal in their original brewery or allegedly- Wrexham Lager can do that 100 %
We're still in a cup competition that we have a more realistic chance of getting to Wembley I joked on Social media about the fact we can now concentrate on the Bristol Motors but in reality it is a realistic route to a decent day out in londinium Who knows? PS agree with Tim and his observations
What went wrong? Team selection and tactics. I will bang this drum until the end of the season but Dobson is half the player peoole think he is and Rathbone is all running and nothing else. Players brought in to keep us in L1 rather than get us out upwards. As importantly, playing the two of them together hasn’t yet worked and doesn’t look like it will. If anything it gets worse each time we try it. Putting them both in together has surrendered midfield every time we’ve done it and it also renders anyone in with them literally a third wheel. Hard in that context to criticise Mullin. We have few compelling alternatives. He’s not match fit; clearly trying too hard and snatching at stuff just like last season but he’s also feeding off scraps. He’s rarely going to score off a Barney cross as that’s not his game so his chances need to come through the middle and at present he’s getting less than scraps. As regards the suggestion he is fit now, go talk to medics. That “minor” surgery would result in other people being asked to be mobile but very careful for three months and it can take up to six months to get general anaesthetic out of your system. We won’t see the best of him until 2025. Astonished in this context that Jones isn’t being offered game time and that people are highlighting a Lee playing slightly better than he did last season despite being repeatedly bypassed by Dobson. Add in that Revan isn’t making a case for being in ahead of McClean and the latter certainly isn’t making a case for being in ahead of Mendy. He’s having a season which suggests that his legs are fine but his brain has gone. I don’t agree Parky hasn’t got the mix right up front. The issue is in the middle. Dobson’s protection of the defence is half arsed and neither he nor Rathbone will score this season. Add in how little they get the ball down and play through the middle. Tactics? I’ve no problem with Parky’s percentage game away from home. Over three seasons those results speak for themselves. However, there are certain games when even to a mere fan it’s bleeding obvious that doing things differently is the way to go. Why play an entire half of down the channel hoof ball against a team for whom that is just meat and drink? They can, and did, deal with it pretty straightforwardly. Not exactly a surprise. As soon as we got the ball on the floor and confined the long ball stuff to cross field we had them pinned back and in trouble. Does it matter? You can always lose to a lower team in a cup, but, if you’ve authored your own downfall by trying a midfield that has failed in the league then there has to be a concern that It’s going to matter in far more important games.
Mullin needs time. Being benched behind Marriott was a hit to the ego and not much time on the pitch. Just give him time. He’ll come into form. It’s just time. That’s it. We will be fine
Why does Parky think we have to have a big front man, two of our best ever strikers, Whittle and Mcneil weren't exceptionally tall but both great footballers on the floor and natural goalscorers.
Think it's the parky style of football, long ball more often than not , so go for flick on and hold up play , which palmer doesn't do brilliantly but has his moments... personally I would like another sharp striker ,play football and more pace
Ridiculous comment re: Palmer and Bodvarsson. The goals may not be flying in but Palmer is having his best season for us since his first. Has several assists and has been outstanding in several games including Charlton away given that you appear to have a very short memory. Bodvarsson? Unless you’ve seen him previously you have a few minutes on which to base your “good” comment. Talking to Bolton fans and someone who has watched him regularly he’s not going to solve any goal scoring issues. Main role career wise has been as a super sub. As he’s only a little closer to full match fitness than Mullin i.e. he’s not had back surgery it’ll likely be near the end of his current contract before we see much from him.
Our top 3 scorers are Marriott, Lee, and Max. Something has to change up top, with Marriott out. Not unrelated, in the past 4 games weve scored 2 goals. 3 if you include the OG. Like it or not, strikers are there to score goals, and the rest of the team can fill in a bit, at the end of the day that comes to the two at the top of the pitch. Faal hasnt seen much game time, and I have more time for him, as he's young, inexperienced and thrown on at the end of a match, compared to the players who have a partnership that's about 2.5 years on.
Let’s not gloss over, I went yesterday and the team is strong enough to get a result. Real poor day at the office.. we all know the commercials of the FA Cup… sorry poor
No, losing is never a blessing. What kind of philosophy promotes losing as the best outcome? The day losing becomes better than winning is the day I stop watching.

We got what we deserved. Back to winning ways next Saturday hopefully

🦖
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT
MATE 😖😖
When does the off day become a problem? not sure Andrew is right there, Stevenage, Huddersfield, Orient,
andy- whoever you asked about Seb Revan back when we first got him said he was questionable defensively more attacking threat

Unfortunately Mulls spends more time fouling than playing at the moment. He can play the game and doesn’t need to do it.
Nice to see you yesterday Tim, it was shite, but agree i don't care about FA cup and atmosphere was awful

Bottom of the table in part… because Armstrong has forgotten how to score.

Minor comment - it’s quite unpleasant when wearing AirPods that your opening music is only in the left ear. If you could fix that it would be great!
Christ that was fast
we seriously lack attacking power up top.
Mulls - not ready
Palmer - awful
Mo Faal - too raw
Bordvarsson - good but needs to play more often

we NEVER find a way to get on the front foot against a lower league team! we only show up when it's a top team.
If your going to comment on Wxm Women at least watch them.
Sorry, I know that sounds harsh
Whilst on a bus to Harrogate? How?
@fearlessindevotion were you all there? If so, fair play if not, however...
Wow good 2 hear they got a ladies team now!
Let’s not gloss over, I went yesterday and the team is strong enough to get a result. Real poor day at the office.. we all know the commercials of the FA Cup… sorry poor
