Andrew Pollard, since you referenced it: Don't get discouraged if negative comments pop up from time to time. You are doing a nice job organizing the discussions and have great insights as a long-time fan, as do the other panelists. Can't please everyone when the audience is a large group. Some people have a toddler-level tolerance when it comes to any change or anyone new. My two cents.
I love how Andrew organizes the podcast, the eps are so good now. I totally agree with the point about Mullin fishing for fouls. The image that my mind now conjures when I hear his name is of him sitting on his ass with both arms outstretched while play continues around him 😂
Great show Charlton fan I thought you edged it I know teams get injuries but the team we had out we r five first teamers out including our best 3 players you r 4 years together as a team look like as well we r trying to get a squad together you r a top 4 side my side unsure enjoyed the atmosphere
For what it's worth - tajon buchanan broke his tibia at Copa and made the bench at Inter 17 weeks later. So 4 months sounds about right. Also, I could only count 4 McClean yellows (shrews, b'ham, northampton and Charlton) and i thought it was 5 in 19 matches? Could be mistaken though, and thinking of thr prem rules. Iirc some of the kop funding is contingent on the stand being ready for the u19 tournament. I believe that the new architects are in place to not just redesign the kop (potentially) hut also how to incorporate it with upgrades to the rest of the stadium.
Yes, the press release seems to refers to the Kop as a 5,500 seater with reference to the current design ... and not with reference to the pending future design, which is reputed to be 7,500. Also, since the original design was revealed, the goal of including corner seating to the stadium was announced. If some of the corner seating can be made available by the start of next season, that can somewhat cushion the impact of closing the Temporary Kop for the 11 months that is required to build the New Kop.
The 5 points didn’t arrive in the expected order but felt right given our daylight robbery at Rotherham and the fact we created zero chances against Huddersfield but then put in the best second half of the season on Saturday. I made all 3 games and the conclusion has to be that we’re a top 10 team and possibly more. Atmosphere at Charlton was great. Curbishley was greeted with “You’re only here for the Wrexham” as he drove in and responded by noting that actually he was only there for Elliot Lee. Quite liked our fans telling their key players they’d have better cars if they played for us. Also another game in which several of us were forced to stand because literally two people decided to do so. I could name one but let’s go with “significant figure in the WST” and park it there. One of several who once lectured me and others on their commitment to accessibility! So full of BS. So much also for the theory that if you want the seats on your ticket you should turn up early. I was the 4th person in and the overwhelming majority of fans doing the same were very clearly targeting where they fancied sitting. Those who turned up early with family or elderly relatives and wanting their ticketed seats found themselves in instant heated “discussions”. Even people in wheelchairs had to ask people to move before they could locate. Disappointing there was no comment on the refs Paul Alcock minus Di Canio impression or Mullin being thrown down by the neck in the second half. Was it a penalty? Yes, based on the laws as is; movement towards the ball and the clear view the ref had then it was a pen. The law however remains an ass. Anyways, Palmer MOTM by a mile and Max was just Max. Don’t get the discussion around the latter. Parky was simply reinserting his number one player at right back. That’s a big message. Suspect he would have done so regardless of O’Connells performance on Tuesday and would have considered moving the latter back to the centre were it not for the fact he had a terrible game on Tuesday. I’m not as excited by Scarr as others. Great defender but his distribution is Shawn Pearson level i.e. HOOF, and at this level, with a not quite functioning midfield, that’s going to matter in the long term. We still have the turgid O’Connor issue albeit no-one sees that bar me. When we’ve been looking for solutions recently I’ve been surprised we’ve not moved Tom back into his preferred position. Think there’s an awful lot of overthinking going on re: “atmosphere”. Tension is an atmosphere. Might not be the one you want but it reflects what’s playing out in front of you and I see no issue in that. To try and create some fake/always the same ever singing atmosphere would just be incredibly dull. Football is only attractive because every game is different. I don’t want to go to Boreham Wood every time I watch a home game or Coventry every time I watch an away game. Those games would have been way less memorable if those atmospheres were the norm. Now, go do your homework :) Our new Icelandic front man does not have a “Dardy” in his name. The pronunciation is very different.
Yeah us Welsh speak really fast.. so I’m told. To slow down is really hard, I have do this as I work all over the country.. welcome to the mighty Wrexham 🏴
@andy gilpin god bless he ( Max)expected to take it off his chest but it was wide and he flexed sadly it came off his arm it never should have come to that if they play out of the corner as they should
James is being brought in because of the number of yellow cards on Dobson and Cannon. Yes, Lee has somehow mysteriously disappeared. But he's not the reason why James is coming in.
I kind of think Ollie P has upped his game now with the arrival of Bodvarsson. We haven’t seen him play yet but it has to be at the back of Ollie’s mind that Jon Dadi could take his starting spot.
Ollie has been very good all season. Saturday was absolutely his best performance of the season but that was likely as much because he can see Faal on the horizon as it was because Charlton’s style of play absolutely suited him.
@@mikehughescq totally agree. I will say though both the Birmingham and Bolton games it was like he wasn’t there, he had a similar game on the Wrexcoast tour, head down strolling. When he’s on form he’s fire. We need him like that for all the games though.
ANDREW is it possible for you to slow down when you talk?!? You are talking a blue streak, so fast, I'm constantly going back to try understand what you're saying. Yes! I'm in LA, thick Welsh accent is my work in progress second language and I have no knowledge of all the insider stuff you guys banter on about. But I get it, it's not just for me, really. So, it's a tiny plea to slow down just a little bit.
@NOHOPHOTO Hello from St Louis, I have taken to turning on the captioning when watching interviews and podcasts that are Wrexham related…..just thought I’d toss that out there 😊⚽️
Andrew Pollards cadence and speed is something I have seen in Brits in general. You do get used to it sooner rather than later. The key is his enunciation is perfect. So you can make things out once you adjust to the cadence. It's very close to an announcer, so he is actually delivering very professionally.
I think Parky was protecting Max- first game back and it could hurt his confidence. With the gaffer adamant he didn’t do anything wrong he will put it behind him more easily? maybe?

Thanks for the shout out Andrew, Charlton was an epic day out.

Loving the Friday the 13th t-shirt Andrew!
I thought it was a great away performance and we were very unlucky not to take the 3 points.

I agree with Tim about the ground, but thought the atmosphere was just slightly behind Peterboro, this season
The independent ref assessor in the stand said he made a mistake, reference to it on the forum
The footings and the groundworks can take 6 months, so probably can keep the temp till season end and then start at end of season ripping stuff up
How do you find out about fan groups? Are there any in Northants or Cambs?

@@MadAl37agree re: those games but not sure I’d single him out. Against Birmingham Dobson was awful as was Rathbone but few said anything.

@lyndapolys761 I prefer to just listen to this one cuz there's nothing to see really. I use cc on a lot but I can't read that fast either! Lol!

Andy do you trust Tim Edward(s)?
No.
