As an employee of Brooks Brothers, I can confidently say that the red fleece line has been discontinued and thus rarely seen in store. If you go to factory stores you can get the more affordable prices and will occasionally see some old red fleece items, but the stock is very limited.
I was in Tokyo, Japan this past May 2023. I picked up myself a Orient, Seiko, and Citizen watch. Inexpensive, high quality control material build, design are timeless beauty , and it doesn't break my wallet. I personally like the Express brand. They're not old money and been around since the early 1980s. They sometimes have good sales and their build quality is decent for what it is and inexpensive.
it’s more about it being inexpensive in the long run, it’s better to invest in high quality products that last a lifetime than it is to just buy tons of cheap stuff over and over, which will end up costing more in the long run anyway. better to save up and buy quality pieces
It’s old money style, a suit so craftsmanship is need and it’s a respectable company so yes it was be a pretty penny but for 1600 it will last u for life if maintained well.
Instead of Zara I would recommend Banana Republic, same "family" as Banana Republic but in the recent years they have updated their brand especially the Banana Republic archives. Pricy but for the materials such as leather, suede, wool, or cashmere. I think it is somewhat reasonable.
BR is so consistently on sale and discounted that i wouldn't call it expensive at all. I redid about half my wardrobe there for around $700. That was multiple shirts, shoes, and pants. I don't think i paid over $50 for a single item
I have worn Brooks Brothers, J Crew, LL Bean, since college. I am now a few years past university life, I still lean into these brands. I guess I have had the old money look for most of my life.
I picked up an Orient automatic watch for my brother and I for work. They work pretty well and are fairly accurate. I had no idea they were around for so long, and I'm pretty stoaked about it.
Finally decided to get a watch and found out about Orient just last week. I bought two watches, one Orient and another Orient Star straight from Japan. They haven't even been shipped yet. Feels good to see it here. Even though Seiko and Orient are sister companies, I think Seiko is well known so I went with the underdogs instead. Insane value for the price. Hopefully can afford a Grand Seiko one day, the engineering on them is just truly breathtaking.
Happened to visit Zara today. Found a pair of good looking comfy chinos. The snap button popped off when I opened it😅 and I had lots of similar quality issues with the brand previosly as well. So I’d say steer clear, gents.
Love Uniqlo actually wearing a pair of their jeans as we speak great quality for the money and they hem them for you as well . Also used to own the glycine combat sub non gmt version the goldeneye cool pieces
Charles Tyrwhitt wouldn't normally hit my radar, and I think their regular prices are a bit high, but I stumbled across an internet ad with a huge discount for a first-time buyer. The quality is top-notch. I'm tall and slim and was pleased to find that you can order, in addition to the normal neck and sleeve length, specific slimness in the torso. Most brands are too baggy on me, but these fit nicely. However, regardless of brand, "no iron" is a myth, especially with 100% cotton. These shirts come out of the wash looking OK but iron them anyway for a nice, crisp finish.
I have bought some dress shirts ftom them and i agree they are very good. Prices appear expensive but they do lots of sales and coupon codes. They have a really wide range of sizes and even offer customization.
I'm honestly surprises Uniqlo isn't popular enough to have many stores across the country, only ones I know of is in Florida as part of Disney Springs (Or as OGs call it, Downtown Disney) and one store in NYC. Good prices, good quality, nice designs, I'm disappointed that they aren't more widespread in the US. Then again they may drive prices up if they do so I guess there is a trade off.
Hey Antonio, love your videos. Can you create a video reviewing Ralph Lauren. I know you have talked about some RL products before but not a deep dive for the brand. Would love to see that!!!
I love Seiko and will continue to buy their watches and recommend to people. Casio is another brand that is GREAT for watches that are affordable and reliable. I would also suggest that the clothes may not be old money but CLASSIC staples of clothing that will never go out of style.
Orient bambino is one of my best buy so far, i bought the watch 2017, the vintage champagne with blue dial, i gladly bought that and luckily available within a day, now its hard to get that watch and the prize for second watch 2x when first time i bought, and other some good stuff i gladly bought when i found it available, it costs me not that much, but it last long for my satisfaction of looks and long last stuffs and ended up rarely buying new stuffs.
I commented a few of these brands on your last old money brands video, but it's worth mentioning them again, along with a few others that I personally know of. Hugo Boss = German brand founded in 1924, they're mainly known for their Suits, Dress Shirts and Fragrances R.M Williams = Australian brand founded in 1932, their flagship product is high-quality Chelsea Boots Rodd and Gunn = New Zealand brand founded in 1946, they sell Dress Shirts, Jumpers, Jackets and Pants that are both high-quality and have a sense of old money to them Anthony Squires = Australian brand founded in 1948, they're mainly known for their Suits, Jackets and Dress Shirts Politix = Australian brand founded in 1975, they're mainly known for their high-quality Suits, Jackets and Dress Shirts M.J Bale = Australian brand founded in 2009, they have a large array of high-quality garments with the most notable being Dress Shirts, Jumpers, Coats and Suits which all whisper the old money aesthetic I hope this information was helpful for you Antonio, as I absolutely love these types of Menswear Videos.
Antonio, you nailed with this content, as usual. Bravo! 👏🏽 Please do more. This could be even a series, so we could watch it weekly. Cheers from Brazil. ✌🏽
Interesting list. I wear a lot of these brands. Have to point out that Brooks Bros does not have a Red Fleece line anymore - it was discontinued a few years ago. I also have to point out the quality of some of the brands on this list is not high. For example, a lot of Uniqlo looks great, but some just does not last. I'll continue to buy their stuff, but be aware.
It would be great if you did a video on fashion for us guys who have a waist bigger than 40 inches especially for those of use that have 44,46,48 and even 50 inch waist and wear 3xl and up in shirts. Here in the middle of the midwest there isn't alot of choices for us healthier sized guys.
Great video. Coincidentally, I'm in Manila at the moment and stocked up on Uniqlo Oxford cotton button down shirts. They cost 1,490 pesos (£21.50) while in the UK, the current price is £34.90!
Great video. Would you do a video on the proper way to wear our military medals, ribbons, badges, etc on civilian clothes? I’m guessing it would be almost exclusively on sport coats and suit jackets. Thanks!
Love your content particularly on old money. Please keep those affordable brands coming so we can best represent ourselves until we can afford the major heirloom pieces
I work at Massimo Dutti and I have to admit it's basically a better Zara in terms of quality and sometimes even fit Zara has that streetwear tendency to make their products square looking and loose which really isn't my type of thing
Speaking of the Mall of America, Uniqlo is the one major store I wish we had there, or in the Twin Cities in general. We have mostly everhthing else, either aa actual stores or in the Eagan Outlet Mall.
Love the channel. S/F I like brooks brothers, they fit me great. But...poor quality on the cord pants. I have had 2 pairs where the corner of the back left pocket ripped in the exact same spot on both pairs after only wearing a few times. And their shipping for online orders takes about 2 months.
Always have been a fan of the Glycine Airman, just because it resembles the WW2 Omega Spitfire watch, perhaps my favourite watch of all time (The watch worn by tom Hardy in the film Dunkirk), not many watches out there with the 2nd crown used for locking down the friction bezel. It's just a cool look, wish Omega would make a modern version.
My favorite shirts that would fit in this topic are by T.M. Lewin. Unfortunately, in coming out of receivership a few years back, they have not recommenced their U.S. distribution. I haven't found any maker with the same quality materials at their price. I'll look at Charles Tyrwhitt again, but their sizing hasn't met my fit in the past; perhaps it is been updated. Great video, as always.
My grandfather had a 1968 Omega Constellation (I think it was that model). Several years after he passed away, my grandma gave me that watch. Years later, I had a drug problem and ended up selling that watch that, regardless of the actual price, was really invaluable. I still haven't been able to forgive myself for that. Abuelo...I'm so so sorry...I hope you can forgive me from heaven...
When I first started buying Charles Tyrwhitt, I accidentally bought one of their non-iron shirts. It's not bad, but not as good as their regular shirts. I kind of hate that they push non-iron, because non-iron doesn't mean "never needs ironing" or "never wrinkles".
My dress watch that my wife bought me for our first anniversary in 1983 is still the most beautiful watch I've ever seen. Seiko, gold face with a thin different color gold circle where the tip of the hour hand touches. Gold hands. No numbers, just a tiny diamond at the "12" position. Anybody know the name of the model?
Thoughts on Alexander McQueen? Who, same with some other modern brands still take influence from the old without being too-new and are a transition into what is considered the new money term. This in itself may be worth investing into a video in detail of the timeline. Personally I believe new money started after second world war.
The practicality of what old money clothing is what I'm looking for now. Example, Red Kap cellphone pocket pants. 4 colors and a pocket that holds my phone and wallet at the thigh instead of waist, the pants themselves are clean on the lines and hold an ironed crease very well. And don't wrinkle easily.
I have some red kaps like you described. I also discovered Lee Men's Performance Series Extreme Comfort Canvas Relaxed Fit Cargo Pant . The cargo pockets are internal and small, yet big enough for phone and such. I get a size smaller in waist because of the stretch they provide. Pants lasts me years. Also are more slim-ish than relaxed fit.
I honestly don't get this "old money" trend: if you haven't got old money, you never will and there is no way that you can fake it. Those who know, know.
Tried Charles Tyrwhitt shirts. It’s regular fit is too boxey, and it’s slim fit too tight. Not good for the fit, athletic man. Too bad, because I liked the fabrics.
Bro make a video on briefs or v shape underwear. My friends are making fun of me because my brieflines are showing through my pants and for my age as i am 19. There is a stigma behind them and even you avoid wearing them in your GRWM videos, can you make a vid on advicing me pls
8:40 I get how an “old money” brand might not be too expensive. What I don’t understand is how you can call a brand that’s only been around for 30 years “old money”. By definition, it can’t be.

I feel like TH-cam has shifted the definition of “inexpensive.” $1600 suits from Brooks Brothers isn’t exactly inexpensive.
