notbing to do with the hinges, the checkstrap is the thing between the hinges that has set points, you can remove it or replace it to change door positions

Its an option called Magnetic door stops (you can feel the magnet pulling as you are starting to move the door again), got it on my 970 Panamera aswell
Plot twist: the Porsche also had 5 “locked positions” just like our Mazdas but he sold us this video using the “locked positions” in random order creating an illusion tricking us into believing the Porsche doors stop anywhere.

Except the engine and transmisson, everything is failure under warranty. But handling and performance is amazing , With a TechArt factory aprove remap its amazing easily beat the turbo. But Still a porsche fanatic. Still love the garage trió cayenne gts , 911 turbo s and the Mera s.
Panamera 2019+ is such a underrated car , the car flows like a boat on bumpy roads and has enough room for long distance travels with your family , and lets not forget the Turbo S is fast af with hybrid engine kicks with around 3 sec from 0-100 kmh .
It wont stay exactly where u put it, but it will stay really close, see regular cars have 3 to 5 locking positions, the Panamera to achieve that “door stays where ever u put it” thing, it has at least 45 to 60 locking positions… u can tell in the video when he lifted he’s hand the door moved a little bit but technically it stayed there, just not exactly where he took his hand off

Several German cars have this feature. It doesn’t last very long though. It’ll become a problem afterwards if you don’t replace the stubby pistons.
The machine around the door mount part of it falls apart. Don't buy a whole new piston until you check that bushing.
Exactly. Mine wore out after 6 years and would only work if I opened the door past the point where I normally do.

That happened to my nissan. I found out later, the door hinge was rusty, that's how it stays when opened. You should check your panamera door hinges.
