“Does she hit hard?” Ian Paice says: “She hits harder than I do - and makes less errors” (Burn). As others wrote, the drum set sometimes desintegrates 😀😀.
Yoyoko is my favorite. She always makes me smile. She loves to rock out, but she does some jazzier stuff too. At 12 years old her bio is already pretty impressive.
Yoyoka is absolutely a human metronome. I've watched everything by her to date and she is ALWAYS in the pocket and her sense of tempo and timing is other worldly , especially considering how hard she power hits on songs like this one! Thanks for the reaction. I liked your laid back demeanor.
Great reaction. Always nice to hear a drummer's perspective, and you explain really clearly why Yoyoka's playing is so impressive. She does *loads* of heavy rock, along with everything else. Burn by Deep Purple is amazing; her recent studio session with a top-notch band is great, and her family's performance of Killing in the Name, with her mum on vocals, is pure entertainment!

YoYo is a legend at 12 years old. I love her and so humble. She is already a top drummer in the world. And the power behind her is astounding for her age. her favorite drummer is John Bonham watch Deep Purple Burn, face melting. Or TO TO Rosana when she was 10 is amazing with the tempo.

People will be talking about her for decades to come. I’m glad I’ve lived long enough to see such a incredible player. One nite I got high and went back and started from her beginning.. wow is all I can say. I hope to see her grow and where she goes it will be interesting to watch. GO YOYOKA !!
Yo should check her good times bad times cover when she was just 8 years old shes amazing. Robert Plant and Ian Pace had reacted to her led zep and deep purple covers.
Heh heh heh. You have now witnessed first hand why an 11-year old Yoyoka Soma would be included in the Top 500 list of DrummerWorld. She's now 12 years old by the way. I have no doubt she'll become scarier as she grows older. Oh, incidentally, many have said that they believe her to be the reincarnation of John Bonham (and many of these statements were not said in jest). You can look for her Led Zeppelin covers (especially the later ones) and see for yourself how this came to be. In fact, just go subscribe to her channel and see all her videos yourself. Hey, feel free to make reaction video out of them if you wish. Us Yoyoka fans won't be complaining. 😁

*Happy 2022.* I very much enjoyed your reaction. I am delighted you enjoyed Yoyoka's drum cover. I especially liked you sharing relevant experiences as a drummer. I failed to learn to drum decades ago, so I respect people who succeeded. Yoyoka's fans have commented plenty so I'll only add a few things: 1. *Yoyoka does not upload 'duds'.* She sets herself very high standards. 2. Before 9yo, her drumming was very good for her age. After 9yo she's very good for any age. 3. Yoyoka videos are one take. Her 'solo'/'home studio' use fixed cameras with no cuts. Her ethic is "What you see and hear is what you'd get live". I've watched all her covers. Only one of over 80 covers has a single cut. A Yoyoka 'trademark' is her stick waves before and after a song. Lots of her fans like to see that and wave back. It is the least we can do to show her the respect she earns every time she plays. I'm fine if you don't feel like doing that. 😀 ---- Yoyoka has several playlists of her videos which might help you find songs to react, or listen, to. *'Yoyoka Drum Cover / 叩いてみた動画'* playlist is mostly Yoyoka playing 'solo' in their 'home studio', eg. this 'Rainbow "Kill The King"' drum cover. Pick out bands or songs you like, and you'll probably enjoy it. I guess 'Deep Purple' is a good place to start. th-cam.com/play/PLdRIgHiqkWWbf6r83PokACwV5gqIVv9vs.html A few of *'Yoyoka Drum Cover...'* titles include *'with friends'.* These are remote collaborations during 'stay home'. Yoyoka is recoding in their 'home studio', and the friends are recording themselves playing at their location. The tracks are recorded separately, then the song is assembled by Yoyoka's dad, Akifumi from each audio and video track, to create the complete performance video. _Edit: the _*_friends_*_ are internationally recognised adult musicians._ *'Yoyoka 12th Birthday Session'* playlist is based on, at least, 10 songs recorded in one day by Yoyoka, four musicians and three singers. They are together, playing 'live' in a studio. The video is cut together from several cameras, but the audio is one 'live' take. It was recorded and released before her 12th Birthday. Yoyoka's playlist is 'YOYOKA's 12th Birthday Session': th-cam.com/play/PLdRIgHiqkWWahmjBhCmEMPWsK8rIFZZBc.html It has two mistakes; Deep Purple 'Mistreated' is included twice, and Van Halen 'Jump' is missing. My playlist is more accurate th-cam.com/play/PL8ELJOZTTeePTLoqGgzmqQKBK9OKDrcmo.html _Edit: the four musicians and three singers are all famous Japanese musicians, some in legendary Japanese bands._ *'YOYOKA with Cross Roads Band'* playlist was recorded in the 'Cross Roads bar' in Sapporo. The bar was established in 1998, and is renowned for its live rock music. Yoyoka is playing a set with the house band, who are very good. This was 'live streamed' from the bar the weekend after her 12th birthday. Yoyoka's playlist is 'YOYOKA with Cross Roads Band' th-cam.com/play/PLdRIgHiqkWWZSkljCDocBXXv854npbOQm.html It has two mistakes, so mine is more accurate: th-cam.com/play/PL8ELJOZTTeePTsu96B17Mf8tO1zQDtG7R.html *Note:* When Yoyoka collaborates with other musicians she's very serious, professional and respectful. She serves the song and supports the band. In her 'Solo'/'home studio' covers, like this 'Rainbow "Kill The King"' drum cover, she's playing songs she likes, is having fun, and is often exuberant, sometimes playful. She sometimes includes her 'bloopers', which are either funny or interesting. So the 'Solo' covers are more fun to watch, while the collaborations demonstrate how she feels the song should be played as part of a band.
I totally love the sentence in 2. Yoyo's takes are only one take.... Like HUH? She's only 9 when this was recorded and spoken. Drummers with 2-3, even 4x her age don't always get it in one... 2 at the least I am sure some even up to 5-7 takes.
@@freddygonzalez8797 @Freddy Gonzalez I apologise for this long response, and I might have mislead you. I should have written "video is one continuous unedited take". *Many* TH-cam drummers construct their video performance by editing several takes together. Some are obvious because there are lots of cuts, and sometimes one camera angle should see the camera used for the next cut. But some are harder to detect. I was contrasting them with Yoyoka who uses multiple fixed cameras to show there are no edits. In over 100 videos, I've only spotted one edit, and I was looking carefully. Otherwise the audio is always a single unedited continuous take even if the video is assembled from many cameras. For example, she met with legendary Japanese musicians in a studio during Japan's "Stay Home" for one day. They rehearsed then recorded at least 9 songs. _YOYOKA's 12th Birthday Session_ th-cam.com/play/PLdRIgHiqkWWahmjBhCmEMPWsK8rIFZZBc.html Yoyoka learns by ear, and doesn't need many listens to get it, and add her own 'feel'. We don't know how many times Yoyoka played and recorded the whole song. We know Yoyoka doesn't need many takes. Partly because she answers questions about it in her live streams. Partly because she's met with other TH-cam musicians for collaborations, and some collaborations even had witnesses. Those folks report she was 'perfect' in the first and every take. Though she does adjust what and how she plays to best support the band or musician she's playing with, as well as adding her own 'magic'. She's also made 'jam sessions' with other musicians where she reacts and improvises in response to them leading the song. She's also 'jammed' with very experienced drummers, they 'bounce' leading back and forth between them. A fun video is _Onyx - Senri Kawaguchi Seven year old drummer ``Yoyoka''_ th-cam.com/video/MkhGgqXywU8/w-d-xo.html which is in front of a live audience (she started playing for live audiences at 4yo). It's worth listening all the way to the end for the audience reaction. There's a *LOT* more to say about her. However, it's helpful knowing she was added to Drummer World's "Top 500 Drummers List" at 11yo, and she got an 'Artist' visa to live and work in the USA IIRC at 12yo. She's there now. Best Wishes. ☮
In answer to your query about if Yoyoka is hitting hard? Yoyoka posted on Instagram that she KILLED two cymbals while recording Kill the King. (in one take as usual)
Great stuff! I love Yoyoka and her badass drumming. She comes from a musical family. They have a family band and I think she is doing a mini tour in Japan right now. She kills it and crazy enough, she plays and learns by ear. I'm sure the Yoyoka Army will be here shortly with all kinds of info for you. You can't go wrong reacting to more of her covers. Junna and Senri Kawaguchi are also worth your time. They are older than Yoyoka but, unbelievably talented.
Yoyoka is a phenomenon! She is second to none! We've been watching since her parents introduced her to the world 10yrs ago! The Soma family rocks! Talent throughout!
That was a great reaction. Thank you. You pondered on her stamina given how much she seems to be giving. She has been gigging since she was 4. She can handle proper sets easily. Check out her Crossroads gig dated Oct 23rd in Sapporo. She has a fully professional mode. The home studio covers are for funnnnnnnnn.
Yoyoka is a Queen Beast 🤘 She just made 12 yrs old. If you want to get blown away check out her channel. Ian Paice reacted to her Burn performance and he was in awe! She Rocks!
In response to your comment about Yoyoka 'playing hard'. Wave Potter, a musician and YT reactor, had the pleasure of playing and jamming with her recently. IIRC he said she can hit very hard. (Yoyoka and her lovely family were visiting the USA. They arranged to visit him at home to play a cover together in his home studio. Then they jammed together on drums.) Yoyoka started learning to play drums at 2yo. Her parents are musicians, and she was shown how to play drums by a drummer friend at 1½yo. She is self-taught with no lessons until she was 9yo (I assume the friendly drummer gave her some tips). My _theory_ is while she was small a way she could get the sound she wanted was to accelerate the stick over a longer distance and be 'whippy'. An example of what I think I mean by _high-stick, whippy hit_ is *Can't Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers* (4m47s) th-cam.com/video/spTYwali22g/w-d-xo.html She gets deep into the song and its groove 😄 I'd be interested to hear your take on that theory. I failed to learn to drum, so it's likely tosh.
a happy and healthy 2022 for you and your loved ones, bobby. so good when a reactor knows, what he´s talking about. and rainbow: I bought their debut album when it came out as a young teen mainly because of the cover. but man: one of the best records ever.
Now you know just like me how awesome she is I know you'll love seeing the rest of the video she has done even since she did Led Zeppelin back when she was 8 what a treat you're in for
I have been watching her videos for several years now and she still blows my mind. Her cover of "Burn" had Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice himself singing her praises. If she were if fact making it look like she is playing harder than she really is through exaggerated movement yet still never miss a beat or loose the tempo then that alone would be impressive. Great hand speed,, great at using her hands and feet independently when needed and she does not just go for the easier songs to play. She challenges herself.
Her solo cover of Burn, by Deep Purple or YYZ by Rush are great. In fact almost all her drumming is excellent. She’s a natural talent. She’s already in the world’s best drummer top 500 and she’s a professional. I grew up with Deep Purple, Rainbow. My favorite song is Lady of the lake.
This girl is something else. Already approved by Perl and K. Zildjian, and many famous musicians have reacted and commented on her skill. What's amazing is when she finds a song she likes. She listens to it, like 2-3 times (5-6 times if it's difficult) and then she can play it. What also surprises me is that she seems to be able to copy the drummers' playing style and actually sound like them. I'm not sure? Some say she plays without a click, others say she does? I shouldn't be a bit surprised if she doesn't because she seems to have a built-in metronome in her head. If this isn't amazing enough - look at her technical skill. Look where she's hitting the drums. Look at the area of the drums being worn. It's like a 2-inch area, max! And finally, the question of whether she hit her drums hard? Just look at her snare drum as she plays trough this song. It jumps around in the stand! Honestly she's something special. No limits. It seems like she can do anything and make it at an superb standard. It gonna be fun to see what this end up to in the future.
It's difficult to use a click with old rock classics. They were not recorded that way so move constantly. Rick Beato showed how John Bonham moved when he tried quantising a Zep number drum part. She feels this so well that she normally completely buries the drum part.
I'm with you rainbow 🌈 was a underrated band. One of greatest rock bands at that time. Yoyoko rules Cozy Powell one of the top 4 drummer's in the world 🌎.
Nice, Cozy Powell was a tragic loss to the music world. He's work on the 3 Rainbow albums is brilliant. Also love the couple of tracks he did on Robert Plants first album. Yoyoka cover of Ozzy Osbourne Over the Mountain is a great track then her Deep Purple and Zeppelin stuff too. But really anything she does is great to see the drumming, as you know Drummers are always stuck at the back away from the spotlight so it's not always possible to gain a true appreciation of them, so it's great seeing all these tracks again with Yoyoka guiding us through these tracks. She drums with Murata Tamu Nemophila on another video.
Wow..Yo Yo..mantap..!!! He plays pretty hard n fast for the kid in his age..amazing.. excellent..so talent.. Reminds me of the group band "Wayang" in my country 90s (alternative pop rock n country genre) whose the drummer was still a child n their songs were booming at that time..
JAR, short for Just Another Reaction. Jar, I think when you watch all her videos you will be beyond amazed like myself and so many others, and believe her to be the most fun to watch drummer ever.
Me too bad the normies of rock don't even know he was top 3 in the world. Along with Ian Pace and John Bonham in that error. Bonham gets all the credit because Zeppelin had a bigger following.
Welcome to the world of Yoyoka! It’s great to hear comments from a real drummer. New subscriber here, thank you for your brilliant reaction. Pat 🏴
Yoyoka is one of the shining lights keeping rock n roll at the forefront. I first saw Cozy Powell when he was drumming for Bedlam. They opened for Black Sabbath at the Coliseum on the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath tour. Speaking of which, Bill Ward is another outstanding drummer. Great show with two powerhouse drummers. I can't wait to see Yoyoka out there touring with a great band. I would pay good money to see that.
Not only does she have the talent, but she has the energy and the joy that makes a great musician. Oh, and she hits harder than a drunk stepdad when you "Leave your bike in the goddamn driveway for the 10th time!"
At 12 she's already sponsored by a lot of drum companies and she has couple of albums under her belt that she wrote and played on.. Ya she's one bad ass 12 year girl..!!
Yoyoka broke cracked cymbals playing this song. Let us rest our heads in memory of the sacrifice for such a wonderful video. If you never played the drums, then you would not be able to truly appreciate how awesome Yoyoka is. She isn't working hard, look at her she is having a blast. Another doggo sited... White one and second one that looks like a chihuahua mix. Some advice, before you start your reaction check out the location of the cams. Your watermark is covering the foot cam. Did you read her bio on her page? Playing at 2 years old, live gigs by 5, writing her own songs by 6, respected by adult musicians in Japan by 7, won Hit Like a Girl (under 18) at 8 and if I remember correctly drummerworld put her in the 500 best drummers by age 10 (maybe it was 11). Already sponsored by Pearl, DW and more other things than I can mention. Grasshopper (you are old enough to get the reference and obviously I am old enough to give it LOL) you have learned a very valuable lesson today. No matter what you do, or how good you are at it, there is a little Japanese girl that can do it better. Now let us embrace the truth. I would like to introduce you to Junna. She is a typhoon of energy, talent, skill and joy. As a wise drummer once said, if you are not dancing when playing, you are doing it wrong. Junna does it right. She is not as young as she looks. Junna combines playing the drums with cosplay. She was 22 when this was filmed and had been playing drums for 8 years. She was also in a band in Japan called Trident. So I would like to suggest Junna covering Through the Fire and Flames by Dragon Force. th-cam.com/video/UKr1H4Jv6is/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for your comment. I did read her bio. Pretty impressive. About my watermark. I don't see it when I'm watching the video. It only shows on my recording but I'm watching the actual TH-cam video. I'm guessing most people watching my reactions have already watched the original video as well. If not I hope they go and watch it without my watermark.
Watch and listen to her Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, and Joe Satriani covers. Yoyoka is an exceptional player, regardless of age, sex, or any other way that people try to differentiate us.
Playing since 2, live on stage in her family band since 4. She is already a drum master and gives clinics on it, she has played in front of up to 20,.000. She is a professional level studio musician and has already sessioned with some greats. Endorsed and under contract with Pearl drums(HQ in Japan), Zildjian, Roland, Vic Firth, and others. Catch her Peart cover of YYZ, and several others. This Rainbow cover might be my favorite though, being a RJD and metal fan.
Bro, you’re going to love this journey into Japanese female drummers, besides Yoyoka, there is Junna, and Senri Kawaguchi ! Oh! I forgot Akane, Tamu, and Haruna!! But I know you’re familiar with the last three!!❤️🔥
The absolute take over of world drumming elites has now begun, in Japan. What explains so many young WORLD CLASS drummers? Besides Karen Carpenter & Shelia E., I don’t know other female drummers. Not saying there aren’t any, just that I am unaware of them, personally that is. So is this Tsunami of world class drummers related to the radiation-in-the-water from Fukushima? Hey, it’s a question that had to be answered! Before you get the answer, ya gotta ask the question! Rock on Yoyoka!
@@roymoore3156 check out Kalonica Nix, from Indonesia, really prolific in her covers but the ones that got my attention were Burn, Aqualung (amazing), Working Man (amazing), Smoke on The Water (amazing)…..by the way, burn is amazing too, absolutely on fire….she has also one the Hits Like. Girl, but has not placed the top 500 as YoYo just did. I’m just really happy that for the future of the music of my youth, all these beautiful young women are like “we got this brother….” Have you been watching Sina? Ian Paice just did a colab with he and YoYo on highway star. He help monetize it for them, 5 bucks for the whole show….he’s a class act, just like these young ladies. Cheers!
Yay japanese drummergirls are just AWESOME, no matter if it's Yoyoka, Junna, Senri Kawaguchi or Kanade Sato. Yoyo-chan here is the ROCKER. I'm always afraid she destroys her drumkit haha (same with Junna). Senri and Kanade are bit more on the "fine" side. All four are definitely worth a look!
You might enjoy checking out Brian May’s solo album Back to the Light. Brian credits Cozy Powell with making the album such a success.. (the album was recently remastered and re-released). And, thanks for your reaction to Yoyoka.. she’s truly amazing!
That's kind of her signature way at the beginning and end of each video. Youngest ever to be added to drummer World Top 500 OF ALL TIME... Has 5-6 (or more) endorsements already as well. Youngest ever for at least most of those as well. Read the profile on the SHOW MORE tab of any of her videos. It's about a page long and covers less than 1/3rd of her accomplishments. She is very humble and has said, she doesn't want people to notice her drumming, but notice the song. Uh, can't really help noticing her drumming!
at the 5:38 mark reminds me of when i sent my cousin a Danny Carey video and he sold his kit 2 weeks later lol on that note, I could only dream to play like her
Check out Ian Paice of Deep Purple reacting to Yoyoka playing Burn. He was so smitten with her I think they collaborated on something along with another female drummer from Germany named Sina
One thing other reactors have pointed out, is the fact she's playing to the original tracks, and BURYING the drums on that. That just adds to the legend. haha And you should probably watch any of her takes on Deep Purple's "Burn", be it in her usual cover mode like ^that, or in a full studio setting with some super seasoned Japanese veterans of the scene. Massively impressive. Great reaction!
For a fun time please see Yoyoka Drum Course #13 “Bass Drum Triplet Without Downbeat.” th-cam.com/video/B5EUmV9Jz-E/w-d-xo.html She was 8 years old at the time.
Nice reaction! Check out some of the videos from her recent 12th birthday sessions, she does some great hard rock drumming with power and speed but much more efficient physically. The rest of the band is insane too. And, her cover of 15 step just might make you a Radiohead fan.
Check out Caleb Hayes (Cumbria UK) covering Dream Theatre, "Under a Glass Moon" at age 6. Then his cover of Slipknot' "All Out Life", now age 7. You won't be disappointed... understatement!!🤟

I guess 'Deep Purple' is a good place to start.
th-cam.com/play/PLdRIgHiqkWWbf6r83PokACwV5gqIVv9vs.html
A few of *'Yoyoka Drum Cover...'* titles include *'with friends'.* These are remote collaborations during 'stay home'. Yoyoka is recoding in their 'home studio', and the friends are recording themselves playing at their location. The tracks are recorded separately, then the song is assembled by Yoyoka's dad, Akifumi from each audio and video track, to create the complete performance video.
_Edit: the _*_friends_*_ are internationally recognised adult musicians._
*'Yoyoka 12th Birthday Session'* playlist is based on, at least, 10 songs recorded in one day by Yoyoka, four musicians and three singers. They are together, playing 'live' in a studio. The video is cut together from several cameras, but the audio is one 'live' take. It was recorded and released before her 12th Birthday.
Yoyoka's playlist is 'YOYOKA's 12th Birthday Session': th-cam.com/play/PLdRIgHiqkWWahmjBhCmEMPWsK8rIFZZBc.html
It has two mistakes; Deep Purple 'Mistreated' is included twice, and Van Halen 'Jump' is missing. My playlist is more accurate th-cam.com/play/PL8ELJOZTTeePTLoqGgzmqQKBK9OKDrcmo.html
_Edit: the four musicians and three singers are all famous Japanese musicians, some in legendary Japanese bands._
*'YOYOKA with Cross Roads Band'* playlist was recorded in the 'Cross Roads bar' in Sapporo. The bar was established in 1998, and is renowned for its live rock music. Yoyoka is playing a set with the house band, who are very good. This was 'live streamed' from the bar the weekend after her 12th birthday. Yoyoka's playlist is 'YOYOKA with Cross Roads Band' th-cam.com/play/PLdRIgHiqkWWZSkljCDocBXXv854npbOQm.html
It has two mistakes, so mine is more accurate: th-cam.com/play/PL8ELJOZTTeePTsu96B17Mf8tO1zQDtG7R.html
*Note:* When Yoyoka collaborates with other musicians she's very serious, professional and respectful.
I totally love the sentence in
_YOYOKA's 12th Birthday Session_ th-cam.com/play/PLdRIgHiqkWWahmjBhCmEMPWsK8rIFZZBc.html
Yoyoka learns by ear, and doesn't need many listens to get it, and add her own 'feel'.
And fortunately, she’s sponsored by Zildjian. 😄
I've been watching this little girl for a few years now. She's the real deal.
Yoyoka is a phenomenon! She is second to none! We've been watching since her parents introduced her to the world 10yrs ago! The Soma family rocks! Talent throughout!
Yoyoka is amazing. Mix of outstanding talent and pure joy!
Stands moving as she hit cymbals , snares rocking on stand this girl is smashing it heck heah
She's playing that hard 🙂. I love her , so talented and having so much fun when she rock. I call her Yo Yo a fantastic drummer. 👏👏🌟🌟❤
Yoyoka is a Queen Beast 🤘
She just made 12 yrs old. If you want to get blown away check out her channel. Ian Paice reacted to her Burn performance
and he was in awe!
Then they jammed together on drums.)
Yoyoka started learning to play drums at 2yo.
An example of what I think I mean by _high-stick, whippy hit_ is *Can't Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers* (4m47s) th-cam.com/video/spTYwali22g/w-d-xo.html She gets deep into the song and its groove 😄
I'd be interested to hear your take on that theory. I failed to learn to drum, so it's likely tosh.
She has made him known, because he sure wasn't before. One of his posts he was telling her she needs to play open handed. I told him he needs to stfu.
a happy and healthy 2022 for you and your loved ones, bobby. so good when a reactor knows, what he´s talking about. and rainbow: I bought their debut album when it came out as a young teen mainly because of the cover. but man: one of the best records ever.
We're witnessing the birth of a rock legend. Cheers from the UK.
I believe she cracked one of her cymbals covering this.
How funny you sound just like me those are two of my favorite drum cover she's done
I'm curious: what drumming of hers wasn't excellent?
Welcome to the wonderful world of Yoyoka!!!!! Wait until you hear her do Burn or Zeppelin
Great reaction I definitely subbed
I'm with you rainbow 🌈 was a underrated band. One of greatest rock bands at that time. Yoyoko rules Cozy Powell one of the top 4 drummer's in the world 🌎.
She plays so relaxed and effortlessly. Her pounding power is 2nd to none.
Cozy Powell was a top 4 drummer in the world.
@@barryrammer7906 gotta love cozy,bombastic
SHE MIGHT BE SMALL, BUT SO AIN'T DYNAMITE. THIS GIRL IS GOING RIGHT TO THE TOP .
PHENOMENAL DRUMMER FOR HER AGE
Wow..Yo Yo..mantap..!!! He plays pretty hard n fast for the kid in his age..amazing.. excellent..so talent..
Reminds me of the group band "Wayang" in my country 90s (alternative pop rock n country genre) whose the drummer was still a child n their songs were booming at that time..
The songs she covers sound better than the original to me on many, to me
JAR, short for Just Another Reaction. Jar, I think when you watch all her videos you will be beyond amazed like myself and so many others, and believe her to be the most fun to watch drummer ever.
Ian Paice himself approved.
Cozy is my favorite!! I play in a Rainbow tribute band. She nails it!!
Pat 🏴
Thank you and thanks for subscribing. I will definitely react to more of Yoyoka.
Yoyoka is a MACHINE!
THE BOSS HER AWESOMNESS RULES.
She is the real deal, take a look at her Zep covers, or sunshine of my love, also a couple of cool Ozzie Covers. Nice job
Cozy was one of the first to use 1/16 note kick drum strokes for that driving power metal beat. A true pioneer.
Thank you for your reaction! Indeed, this particular performance was fantastic and I enjoy your comments.
Absolutely amazing.
Cozy Powell is Smiling down from Heaven watching this little bad ass!
Yep
Watch and listen to her Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, and Joe Satriani covers. Yoyoka is an exceptional player, regardless of age, sex, or any other way that people try to differentiate us.
Hello you too have just met the Hokkaido Hammer, thank you for the comments.
I hope if Foo Fighters carry on, Nandi and Yoyoka get to guest on something.
simply just WWWWOWWWWWW
Bro, you’re going to love this journey into Japanese female drummers, besides Yoyoka, there is Junna, and Senri Kawaguchi ! Oh! I forgot Akane, Tamu, and Haruna!! But I know you’re familiar with the last three!!❤️🔥
Don't forget Kanade Sato!
Alana is amazing, I’d marry her or be her groupie…
@@roymoore3156 check out Kalonica Nix, from Indonesia, really prolific in her covers but the ones that got my attention were Burn, Aqualung (amazing), Working Man (amazing), Smoke on The Water (amazing)…..by the way, burn is amazing too, absolutely on fire….she has also one the Hits Like. Girl, but has not placed the top 500 as YoYo just did. I’m just really happy that for the future of the music of my youth, all these beautiful young women are like “we got this brother….”
Have you been watching Sina? Ian Paice just did a colab with he and YoYo on highway star. He help monetize it for them, 5 bucks for the whole show….he’s a class act, just like these young ladies. Cheers!
I meant Akane
Last video I saw was her family moved to Oakland, CA for music school. Wasn't expected they landed in my Bay Area neighborhood.
This girl is a human Metronome.
Great review! I enjoyed your commentary and analysis very much thanks👍🏽
If you're planning to react to more of her covers, might I suggest Burn by Deep Purple and Achilles Last Stand by Led Zeppelin.
watch her vids she has been making a lot of us smile for yrs !!! Can't rem but i think she has been making vids since she was 5 ?
Her speed king cover is fire
Yay japanese drummergirls are just AWESOME, no matter if it's Yoyoka, Junna, Senri Kawaguchi or Kanade Sato. Yoyo-chan here is the ROCKER. I'm always afraid she destroys her drumkit haha (same with Junna). Senri and Kanade are bit more on the "fine" side. All four are definitely worth a look!
You mention exceptional drummers.
.
You might enjoy checking out Brian May’s solo album Back to the Light. Brian credits Cozy Powell with making the album such a success.. (the album was recently remastered and re-released). And, thanks for your reaction to Yoyoka.. she’s truly amazing!
We need a reaction to Bobby playing drums ...
There are no good videos of me playing the drums. 🙂
@@JustAnotherReactor Well, you already have a goal for this year ...😜
@@STAYMETAL1 I don't even have my drum set anymore. 😀😀😀😀
Informative reaction. Thanks for posting.
She is 100% badass!
Yoyoka is awesome! So is her mom, Rie Soma!
at the 5:38 mark reminds me of when i sent my cousin a Danny Carey video and he sold his kit 2 weeks later lol on that note, I could only dream to play like her
Just discovered your channel. A great authentic style and one of the best reactions to Yoyoka I’ve seen (and I’ve seen A LOT). More please!
Thank you.
Kii. Gogo maniac. Will put a smile on your face.
She can play anything
Shit. Damn! Pretty much the first thing I said, as well.. Except I was speachless after that.
Exactly! Wow...you are the first one that picked up on "Hey, dad, stop the camera." That's not uncommon...LOL
Check out Ian Paice of Deep Purple reacting to Yoyoka playing Burn. He was so smitten with her I think they collaborated on something along with another female drummer from Germany named Sina
Yoyoka: you are an incredible percussionist!
Phil Collins is not too well.
I love when she fills on the Hi hats it's like being hit with a 50cal.
Yes, our little Yoyoka does indeed hit this hard. Watch her play Rush and Deep Purple. It is awe inspiring and she is not even a teenager yet!
Phenomenal!
One thing other reactors have pointed out, is the fact she's playing to the original tracks, and BURYING the drums on that. That just adds to the legend. haha
And you should probably watch any of her takes on Deep Purple's "Burn", be it in her usual cover mode like ^that, or in a full studio setting with some super seasoned Japanese veterans of the scene. Massively impressive. Great reaction!
I have a reaction of her playing Burn.
For a fun time please see Yoyoka Drum Course #13 “Bass Drum Triplet Without Downbeat.” th-cam.com/video/B5EUmV9Jz-E/w-d-xo.html
She was 8 years old at the time.
That was really cool. I like how she demonstrates the heel toe method with her hand but doesn’t call it the heel toe method. 🙂
Nice reaction!
Check out some of the videos from her recent 12th birthday sessions, she does some great hard rock drumming with power and speed but much more efficient physically. The rest of the band is insane too.
And, her cover of 15 step just might make you a Radiohead fan.
well glad i found you didnt know she did this an super
Been watching Yoyoka since she was 8 years old. Amazing girl! King Diamond T-shirt? Saw them in 87 at the Aragon ballroom.
I saw King Diamond a couple of times in the 80’s and a couple of times in the 90’s. One of the times in the 90’s was with Mercyful Fate.
Anyone remember the album cover? Light brown with the drawing ot the band members?
She hits HARD!
Check out Caleb Hayes (Cumbria UK) covering Dream Theatre, "Under a Glass Moon" at age 6. Then his cover of Slipknot' "All Out Life", now age 7. You won't be disappointed... understatement!!🤟
GREAT REACTION 👍
Thanks

Yep she hits very Hard!!
Incredible
She's the best.
