Hi again! Though my output was a little bit more runny than Ms. Louise, i used it anyway and oh boy! It was very good! I applied it to my mats but waited until the next day to peel it off. It peeled off very nicely and had that flexible pull to it. AT the same time, i tried another recipe by Adilicious. Ms Louise' recipe came out better, as the latter came out good, but had no elasticity to it. For this, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
Right now I'm doing your recipe ,I measured out everything ,so far I have very ,very soft mix and bubbles ,I'm going to let it rest over night and hope for the best !!!!
I did another batch last night, but this time, just used 118 ml of water, due to FL being humid. The lace recipe came out smooth. I did cursive letters and names, i did the string for the tennis racquet, and will do the tennis net as well, as they all come out pliable! The possibilities are endless! I am thinking to use this for string lace work on cake, as royal icing breaks so easily. But this one you can pipe and doesn't break. Even if it breaks, you just continue piping from the break. For letters, 1.5 tip came out a bit thick, so try 1.0 tip. Thank you one again!
I'm excited to try your recipe for cake lace! I'm a cake designer for years now and was really excited when sugar veil came out due to the beautiful designs one could make for cakes. But....I failed horribly time and time again😣 I bought lace moulds and mats from different brands and prices, ranging from very expensive to dirt cheap ones but failed every time! So I gave up on it due to many frustrations as you can imagine! But I like to try your recipe and hope that it will turn out like yours did😉 I will let you know whenit does👍
Try it! I've tried Adilicious and Veena's recipes, but they came out very stiff, and hard to apply. Ms. Louise' recipe came out very easy to apply. Instead of putting the mat in the oven, i waited overnight to see the results. It came out very beautifully, and with elasticity. Try it for yourself!
Thank you for sharing My oven setting is minimum 170 Fahrenheit so how long I can keep Also I don’t have white powder I have gel Also my tylose powder doesn’t say expiry date so is that ok to use Waiting for your reply
Hi, I have question for you hope you reply it. can I use cilicon mold for sugar veil lace or the sugar lace mat is deferent? Thank you very much for your wonderful recepie!
No, dakonwe. It has to be egg white powder or meringue. Ms. Louise suggests not to use it, as they are raw and can cause contamination. But if there is no available meringue or powder, try cautiously, but reduce the amount.
Hello. Thank you for your recipe which I'm looking forward to trying. Can you use gel colour to colour the lace and if so please advise whether to mix with wet ingredients or at the stage after using hand mixer? I recently purchased pre mixed gold edible lace similar to Claire Bowman and it's terrible in taste. Is yours sweet enough and can one add clear vanilla to add flavour. I love edible lace but the taste so far is not great. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.
Thank you very much! You are extremely clear. One question I have: if I add more water to the mix, is it possible to spread it in a sheet, in order to make bows, for instance? Thank you again!
Hi Ms. Louise! I tried this recipe and used 128 ml of water (1/2 cup or 118 ml, + 2 tsp (5 ml each) = 128 ml of water. All the rest was according to your measurements. However, it came out not as thick as yours. How do i adjust so that it comes out like yours?
Hi I need help, I used exactly your recipe I tried to dry in 2 ways in oven and air dry over night the sugar lace turned very good but britteled was very dry. Thank you in advance.
The problem with the oven is you're not sure how much time to do it, and it may end up drying the lace. Drying it overnight is better, if you have time.
With respect, I find it a bit odd that you measure the water so accurately but only use teaspoon measurements on the dry ingredients, wouldn't it be best to measure the dry ingredients in grams? What could you add to the mixture as a preservative?
What a lovely, sensible, confident lady. I love her no nonsense approach! Brilliant presentation, thank you.
What a brilliant demonstration, so informative with so many options. Many thanks
Thank you for your ‘generosity of spirit’ in sharing your recipe! It is much appreciated.

Brilliant so easy, just wondering where you can get theTaylo (not sure of the spelling)
tylose powder from cake supply shops
May I use this recipe for sculpture painting cake?
can I use the exact measurement for Wet egg whites too

If I don't find any egg whites powder would make sense to add cream of tartar?

What effect does glycerine and egg white powder have on the sugar lace
Thank you very much! You are extremely clear. One question I have: if I add more water to the mix, is it possible to spread it in a sheet, in order to make bows, for instance? Thank you again!
You can make bows with it as it is - you can spread it on a sheet and cut out shapes

I not sure if I have access to powdered egg whites would regular eggs work ?
coffebug Wilton sells powdered egg whites
I don’t see why not. You’d have to fiddle with the amount though.
Egg powder necessary
What about the water temperature? Should it be hot?
Can you add flavor and color to them
Also is it edible
Mam please share without egg recipe for cake
Does this product dry overnight without cooking?
instead of teaspoons would it not be better to weigh the dry ingredients
We don't get egg powder.
Can I use fresh egg white.
How much.??

Where do you live?
Can I let it dry over night instead of baking it?

On my third try ,gingers crossed ,last two a total mess ,so I have a way less water and I'm running out of ingredients !!
I’ve tried this twice and each time the mixture was lumpy. Tiny lumps that I could not work out. What should I do?
