  • In this step-by-step FREE tutorial I'll show you how to make EDIBLE FABRIC. It's wonderfully versatile and fast becoming a staple in modern cake design, alongside gum paste and modeling chocolate *and in my heart! You'll need a few simple tools and ingredients, about 15 minutes of work time and 30 minutes of gelatin setting time.
    Ingredients: rice paper (wafer paper), 2 tbsp unflavored gelatin, 4 tbsp water, 2 tbsp glycerine and powdered food color or cornstarch for white "fabric", amounts will vary.
    Tools: Silpat mat, measuring spoons, microwavable cups or bowls, wide preferably flat paint brush , spoon, knife.

    The steps that lead me here:
    1. Watched an aquarium video about Molly fish
    2. Watched TH-cam short from same channel about the glue and paper on McDonald’s icecream.
    3. Looked up what the edible glue and paper is made of and was curious how it’s made.
    4. Looked up how to make edible paper.
    5. Watched the video on making edible paper
    6. Your video was under the suggested and now I’m here.
    Alright, back to Molly fish!😂

    I'm very grateful for finding this channel and this recipe. It really worked! You know, I just started experimenting with edible mediums but I find it a little bit dissapointing because even though it's edible, it tastes horrible. I could not eat any of that... and I'm having my doubts about putting something that taste that bad in my cakes. I don't know if anyone feels the same way or if it's just me...maybe there's something I don't know about it.

    • @ckepwr
      @ckepwr  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I keeps really well, but I try to keep it in covered in plastic and use it within the first 24 hours. (That said I have a show piece that I made 3 years ago, and it still looks great and its kind of pliable.) Color: Some projects and colors migrate more than others. I generally give the piece a good shake and in truth I've generally made pieces that were either the same color or lighter than the the cake it is going to be attached to, so I haven't had that much of a problem.
