  • Home made Fluid Pump for removing automotive fluids. All it takes is an empty peanut butter jar and some vinyl tubing to make a great tool to extract fluids from your Jeep Wrangler.
Here is a link (affiliate) to an air nozzle much like the one I used in video: amzn.to/1pUsV1S

Here is my Amazon influencer page that has many of the parts I've used in videos and some parts that friends have used. www.amazon.com/shop/poweraddicts-fixjeepscom-jeepcarandmotorcycletips?ref=ac_inf_hm_vp . By purchasing through this Amazon page you help me get a small commission of the sale and you do not get charged a cent more. Keep checking back because I update the Amazon page often. Thanks for your support!

most jars have a paper disc inside the lid that should b enough to seal it,this can also b done using a shop vac but u need to cut the cone shaped top off a soft drink bottle to seal the vac's air intake so the tubing can pull the fluid.

Brodie Bedard I really like that these video help so many people out. Glad that you are enjoying them. I'm itching to do the junk yard lift myself. Just gotta get the timing right so that I can have my Jeep down for the day since it it my daily driver. If I had my Mustang finished I'd have a 2nd car going. I keep too many projects going .. lol. It should be coming up soon because my stock springs are shot! Hey man .. thanks for taking the time to leave great comments. It gives me the motivation to keep doing these videos. Have a great day bud!!

Could you use a vacuum cleaner and hose to suck the oil out? Put the hose over the sucking tube. I wonder if the fluid that comes out would go into the tube that's inside the jar because of too much vacuum pressure?? Could decrease the sucking pressure by moving the hose away from the hose a bit.
Also, maybe use a glass container or something more strong so it won't collapse.
To add the oil, maybe get a longer tube and make it long enough where you can hold it higher than the fill hole and have "gravity fed" work for you? Anyway, thank you so much, another great clip. Now let's head out to Florida!!

I have pressurized the container to push the fluid into the diff. just make sure the tube going into the diff is submerged into the fluid. Glass containers do work better. I just used what I had there at the time. You can use a vacuum cleaner, vacuum pump or even the vacuum from the car engine its self with the engine running. My son and I are planning a trip to Gulf Shores Alabama this summer to do some scuba diving.

Put the catch container inside a shop vac and run the line out the hose. No lid required on your container.

seems like it would b easier to just buy a $10 hand operated transfer pump

with some dish soap and silicon on the lid would... it make a much better seal.

You are correct. I could have also taken a bit of the differential fluid and spread it along the rim of the jar then screwed the lid back on. That would have also helped. It got the job done on the very inexpensive side. Thanks for dropping in and leaving a great tip to go along with the video! Have a great day!!

I used bubble gum. I used brass fittings and nylon air line on a big glass pickle jar
