That's looking good. When my parents bought the 20 acres east of Naples, it was totally in the woods and no water, power or septic. It took over a year to get power. My adopted father and friends put a shallow well in and we had a pitcher pump so we could water the animals. I stayed with my Aunt and uncle during the week and went out to the property during the weekends so that I could go to school. My mother made great meals over a camp fire. We built our house buying lumber and building materials as we had money. I know how hard it can be. Our weather wasn't as cold as your weather or as hot in the summer, but in Florida at that time it rained every day from June to September.

In Tennessee, we called those little volunteer trees, stobs(pronounced staubs). Takes years to get rid of them, unless you dig them out, but mowing over them keeps them from growing back. I still have scars on my arms from clearing our small acreage.
In Uganda they are called kayukiyuki. thorny and hard to kill..i used a panga(machete) they are back. No tractor yet.

Be glad you are doing this in the winter when the trees and brush is dormant, the sap is not running as much and you don’t have to worry about all the leaves! Wish I was near by to help.

From what you have shown you should have a 1/2 dozen to a dozen logs that can be sawmilled later on for lumber or posts.

Little at a time is the saying, but when it comes to you it's lots at a time. Electric coming. You may not use it alot but it will be good for refrigerators, water pump, washer and dryer, etc. You'll love it.
