    This is where the 49ers should have built the stadium, can u imagine that gorgeous background of the city, the bay, and the ocean. It would have been so beautiful. They could of built restaurants, bars, apartments and so many other things.

    how many years till it's threatened by sea level? 3' is not a lot.

    • @Tynami22
      @Tynami22 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Global mean sea level rise is expected to be approximately 2-3 feet by 2100. I haven't checked the projections specifically for the San Francisco Bay Area but I'd expect it to be similar. Either way, for an island of that size you can always add on a seawall or barrier to offer increased protection in the future if needed.

    I will hold my breath on any project that helps homeless veterans. Housing in places like former bases, Mare Island, Mather AFB, McClellan AFB, the Presidio, Fort Ord has gone to non-military and those politically connected. San Francisco has a dismal record of helping Veterans yet open arms for illegal immigrants and criminal social service hustlers. I predict only that one building will be used for homeless veterans.

    @jr1252 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    it’s always been a neighborhood. just before it was poisoned with radio active stuff and was only good enough for projects. now the radio active stuff is contained so kick out the poor and bring in the techies to overbuild and ruin it

    • @WiteBot

      They literally said the first project is an affordable housing one for homeless vets. Don't worry with that being the first set of tenants, techies (mostly minroties) won't come there.

    The plan for this place was not well thought out. How can you mixed low income housing with multimillion dollar homes? That does not pass the common sense test. It does not make any sense. The entrance and exit is the bay bridge only which will amount to traffic being backed up daily. San Francisco politicians have once again failed to do the right thing. This island could have represented so much more. The number of people that will occupy this island is reckless and irresponsible. The bay bridge and water taxi is the only way to get to and from the island. San Francisco has much bigger problems with numerous businesses leaving the bay area because of the high crime rate. Instead of addressing the issue and holding people accountable for their actions it is being ignored.
