the native plants segment is my favorite part of this video. I'm so happy the developers took that part seriously, it's the most important thing we could do.
Great design, but I am not sure I want to ever live here what with the liquefaction and toxic dirt. Also, it's always extremely windy. I'd imagine it is like living on a cruise ship.
Most of those 8,000 units won't have parking. You have to sign a contract to live or buy there that you're not going to get a car. A parking space costs $120,000
"Congestion management toll to encourage the use of transit" what BS from Bob Beck here... That toll will have tangible negative impact on both low income residents and workers on TI who have spoken out against this terrible idea. Gross!
Why do you people insist on us subsidizing "free" roads. I for one don't want to drive. Why can't I just take transit like a normal person? Why can't you all pay for the roads that you use as much as you use them??? Since when are we the country of free stuff? If you want something then you should also want to pay for it!
@@TohaBgood2 "free" roads? Gas taxes, tolls, licensing fees all go to paying for the roads, they sure as hell are not "free", hell 100% of the highways in the state are funded by said taxes/fees. Yet ironically public transit is absolutely being subsidized by people who don't use it, the reason for most of the recent rate hikes on the bridges in the reason is because of transit siphoning that money, hell in California alone transit ridership has dropped to points where massive cuts need to be made or more handouts from other sources ... e.g. those who don't use it will be forced to pay for it, funny how that works. Next time don't throw stones in a glass house.
@@Mike__B If your "gas taxes, tolls, licensing fees" pay for roads then why are you begging the rest of us for literal trillions of dollars in unplanned maintenance subsidies every couple of decades???? So we didn't need to pass an infrastructure bill that's worth trillions? That wasn't necessary at all, right? Get the f outa here!
It seems great ideas are still influenced and ripped apart with corrupted money , like building so-called affordable housing that's that's filled upper income people .

Cant wait for this development to be done. Hopefully a hotel is also put on the property for ppl who want to enjoy a stay for more than just a day.
Fascinating history
It’s a shame that only 89 acres is going to be developed for housing. Should be dozens of mid rise towers. Only 8,000 units.
developers seem to live in Xanadu
15 minute city

Would not build on toxic ground... lawsuit status?

Can hardly wait for “the big one” Richter scale 10.0 earthquake.
did you watch the video? they have planned for seismic activity.
Too bad about Treasure island's so-called development. No vision here . Could have been a World-class anything-else than another "city" neighborhood.
only a matter of time until diggers ruin treasure island
~ why don’t you build something we need .... like a big prison ... for all the folks who can’t behave in Sf Ca....
