Got a used 2020 Road King Special coming to me next week. It has 460 miles with upgrades and the owner just wanted to get out of the payments. Can't wait to ride it here in the mountains of SW Virginia.

I love my 2020 RKS it's River Rock Grey Denim, I was always a Dyna guy when I was ready to sell my Fat Bob and looking at new bikes I was gravitating to the Road Glide. When I saw the RKS and took it for a test ride....Sold. Love it, love the look. Once the warrantee expires in goes an S&S cam to get the Harley sound which I feel is lacking with the M8's
    Your bike looks great...Ride Safe!!!

For me, it came down to the Heritage, Road King or the Electra Standard. Went to a dealer to look at a '13 King Classic and rode out with a '17 King Special. Youre right, factory seat stinks, I went LaPera Villain DLL. Added a windshield and Kahuna collection goodies, I like it.

I’ve got the 21 RKS. As with all of the RKS owners, we love em, it’s why we bought them. I like that Harley Davidson makes subtle changes year to year, or we be buying cookie cutter bikes. I like the wheels on the 19, I like em in the 21. I personally think the Road King, classic or Special is the true icon, nuts and bolts, motorcycle. All are great machines, with owners who appreciate the feel of riding a motorcycle , not a two wheeled, convertible! Hey, if that’s your thing, go for it. Just ride, it’s what it’s about !

I've had 9 Harley's in my lifetime. 1 Fatboy (03), 1 Deluxe (08), 1 CVO Road Glide (12), 1 Ultra LTD (18 have now), 2 Street Glides (06 & 15) and... 3 Road Kings (03, 13 have now and 12 have now). The Road King to me (in any of its manifestations (Base, Classic or Special) is the most versatile bike HD makes. It can be many things to its owners and likely why I have had more of those (and still have 2) than any other model. The current run on Road King Specials (blacked out models) to me are some of the best bikes HD has ever produced. I intend on having one someday in the next couple years, either after selling the LTD or.. if I can convince my wife 4 bikes is a good idea again... :) Anyway, nice bike, ride safe!

I had my 2020 rk special for 3 years and it rode smoothly … I rode it from Ga to South Dakota to sturgis … the only thing for me was how heavy it was. I’m a smaller guy. 5’6 so I traded it in for a heritage. Which to me the heritage felt more comfy for my size.

I have an 04 Road King Classic. It isn't black and is covered in chrome and my favorite. I've been looking at newer bikes and they don't suit me so much. I get a lot of looks on my old girl, it has some mods like the Reinhardt pipes, the LED conversion, a green underglow on the chrome, so it looks good day or night. Sad thing is it still has the 88ci engine but it runs great and has enough power for cruising around. I do wish it had the 6 speed instead of the 5 but it is what it is. I'm not sure I would change it for a newer bike to be honest. If anything I would change the jugs and sprockets to change the ratio a little.

The price at the time was $27.99. I also bought one for my wife, and we really love them. I'm sure that with the new softail frame, it handles well, but having said that, the wide rear tire will affect handling. I'm a huge fan of the Fatboy and recommended it for commuting and short to medium rides. I don't think it will fair too well as a long distance bike, and it's not designed to. I recommend determining the type of riding you'll be doing and test riding one.

Hi Bob. I have a 2020 RKS with the Windsplitter shield. I modified the mounting system to achieve fore and aft adjustment (good for fitting apes and raising the shield to raise the bubble over your head). Also secures against theft. Windsplitter is a great shield. 100 mph smooth as glass. But it will walk off since it doesn’t secure to the bike.

Harley pins our ecm and bcm to their software. so when they break you have to take it to Harley for service. you can't buy and replace parts without said software. now Harley " can't find parts" so my bike has been in limp mode for a month waiting on a emc that if it wasn't for the Harley re I could have found on ebay and fixed myself a month ago. even though I've been riding Harleys for well over 40 years my next bike won't be one.for a short time I had a kawasaki and I regret trading it for my roadking.
