    I think the Road King and Road King Special are the best bikes in the touring line. I really enjoy my RKS. They are so nimble and having the lighter front end vs the fairing bikes makes a big difference. Ride safe and all the best in 2022. 👍👊🇺🇸

    Another point regarding fairing bikes with infotainment is technology immediately gives away the age of the bike. Harley’s without all the gadgetry stay timeless, albeit better resale value, too.

    2021 RKS blacked out. I’m 6’4”, 260, feels like bike custom built for me! Handlebars perfect, power fantastic. Added Corbin snake skin seat, 16”dark smoked windshield, and slip ons. You hit my style dead on, no frills, no electronics, me and my bike ! Ride what you love , weather a fully equipped touring, basically a two wheeled convertible, or bare bones , teeth rattlin custom, it’s why we ride! Cars are transportation, our bikes are for life!
    Ride safe brothers and sisters!

    Road King Special for the win . Biased. I have a 2022 Road King Special. Looks cooler than the classic .. I'm only 5'7 tall ..had my bars adjusted at the dealer but I have to fully extend my arms still. I got used to it quick. I have ride my Rode King Special 2 months and 2,000 miles with no windshield and no helmet. done 110mph many times, despite smacking a lot of bugs in the face here in Maine I love it. I got the 2022 in "cosmic green" I call it Army Green and black. Turns heads like crazy. Everyone asks me if it's "factory color" yes. 2022 has the dark green and black.

    The Road King Special - loosen the handlebar clamp and rotate the bars back toward you slightly. Not a big deal. Personally, I'd swap them out for a set of Lucky Dave's Lucky 13 T-bars.

    • @thehdguy378
      @thehdguy378  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a little more difficult than that. The angle of the bars is annoying. It doesn’t follow the natural bend of your arms.

    • @mickeygaines007

      Price difference is the special is 4-5k more. The special has an inch shorter suspension stock so a bit less travel. And the stock seat sits a bit lower than the standard due to that.

I’m going to test drive Harleys for the first time in my life once the weather improves here in Germany , but I’m 5 ft 11 and 180 lbs . I’m a bit intimidated to buy the Road King as my first bike but let’s see after the test drive . You’ll be fine on it as a first bike. It’s intimidating because it’s a large bike but the center of gravity is so low it pretty much rides itself after 10 mph. Don’t over think it. @@thehdguy378 I did just what you said I came off a 21 lowrider missed the handling. So I put on some Holins screaming eagle rear suspension. Worth every cent I can rip this bike threw The corner’s now some 12 inch factory 47s some adjustable lever’s put Krause ERG ONE floor boards pulled them back one inch feels more like a mid control now. I absolutely love the king. The suspension upgrade was the best upgrade I ever did to any bike. Getting the shorty shifter and break levers just put the order in today. By Thrashin. Was thinking on a Krause riser set up to do the Holins adjustable front suspension. But front is not to bad so on the fence about doing that. So happy I decided to try some suspension it’s worth all the money and then some it’s 2 bikes in one now with it being all adjustable. 1 click can stiff it up for more aggressive riding or 1 click back for more plush highway riding. 👍 if thinking about that new Holins screaming eagle shock I would recommend it highly. 1 out of 10 it’s a 100x the bike it was.

      @@eugeniustheodidactus8890 On the Road Glide the preload is set on left rear shock like the rest of touring frame models. The stiffer ride you noticed is probably due to two things. The Road King Special, Street Glide, Street Glide Special, Road Glide Special and Electra Glide Standard use a shorter 12" shock with less travel (2.1" iirc) vs. the 3" of travel of the 13" long shock used on the Road King FLHR and iirc the Road Glide Limited. Just replaced the stock 20" windshield with a *Clock Werks 19.5" flared windshield* which gets rid of the helmet buffeting but I am stuck looking through it more than not. I am 6'. Not sure if the 16.5" flared windshield will throw the air high enough to keep from buffeting. Also, the Clock Werks windshield is 3" wider than stock, and it feels a bit like a billboard at 75 mph. _( I exaggerate a bit.)_ It definitely exerts a downward force on the front wheel as advertised.
