    I QUIT HELI"S BECAUSE of these damn FBL systems. I tried beastx system and that was an inconsistent disaster. If I didn't get the system exactly right it flew like a drunk and I looked at their website still didn't help. Totally destroyed my heli trying to set it up. Looked at futaba on their website. They had 5 damn video's to setup the damn thing up. My local shop has no one to help me. So now I quit because I can't get parts for my fly bar heli and can't get a new heli with fly bar. So I quit and only do planes. To hell with helicopters. They don't even fly like a helicopter anymore. FBL ruined the heli's for me.

      Well that sad to read. So you couldn't manage to get trough the Futaba setup because of lack of help or was it lack of perceived quality of FBL systems ?

    What about preformance? is there any difference in preformance between flybar vs flybarrless?

    Are flybarless a lot easier to fly? Thinking about upgrading my old school 450 pro but it sounds expensive and idk if it's worth it? I'm not a good pilot. I destroyed it right after building it like 8 years ago. I rebuilt and have been scared to fly it since. It seems the 450 pro is obsolete

    I have flown both and I am not a hover around guy. For an intermediate 3D, piro, tick toks, tumbles and such, I fly pretty hard. I don't feel much difference. For sponsored pilots ok but even the high end amateurs don't get a discernable difference in performance, in my opinion. It's a scam. Most important is practice. Is it easier to fly? If you're asking that question, time to re-think your hobby, no part of heli flying is easy. There are no short cuts. Manufacturers may tell you it's easier but it ain't so.

    I have a cheap little fly around 4 channel rc helicopter, it will only move around 7 feet in any direction, then level back out, is there something I can do to fix this(the links are on a sort of swivel between the fly bar and servo input rods)

    is there any advantage(pros) of flybar heli over flybarless ?

    • @SOLDOZER
      @SOLDOZER 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Flybar is better for beginners because they tend to drag and bounce the skids around on the ground on takeoff and landings. If you do this with flybarless, the flybarless systems usually sense this and try to correct it, which will tip your helicopter over on the ground resulting in a crash. That's why you see more advance pilots with flybarless "pop" the heli of the ground on takeoff and then do an autorotation on landing.

    I have a HeliMax axe cp 2.4 Paid $200.00 new. It does not fly. The controller is malfunctioning. (will not take commands fwd. right) always flies left rear. have changed all components to those used in the walkera master cp. (including tail motor) It now flies but hates the wind. Can I remove the flybar and change my linkage and make it flybarless? will it fly???

      Hello RC Stuff. The ideal setup would be to remove the mechanical Flybar system and then install the VBar. Otherwise you may have two systems fighting each other. Do you own a Flybar helicopter now or are you interested in getting one?

    Easier to set up he says haha. sure the mechanical side of the story but the tuning side is not so easy unless you really know what you're doing man. FBL can be much more headache than fly bar that's for sure! At least with fly bar all the work is done up front in getting your head set up right, but after that all your work is done. I've caught hell getting fbl working right, but... that's just me

    I suppose the most obvious additional thing people watching this would want to know would be the difficulty level in comparison with each other (depends on various factors obviously but you get the gist).

      Nah I have no fucking idea lol
      I also don't know what "various factors" I was refering to.. there's probably factors involved.. but I don't know which one is easier to fly.. maybe they're the same difficulty lol. Otherwise he probably would of said something about it.. not sure.

    Flybar vs FBL. Flybar Pro's: ton's of free parts(rotor heads, flybar rods, linkage, shafts,...etc.), time/money saved not wasted on 3G > Beastx > vBAR. Plus, swapping cheap cyclic servo's to 4x rudder servo's all around. Plus, no hearbreak in "expectation" of "not" moving up one skill level. Everyone says "locked in" but I have yet to meet a piroflipper who didn't already know how to do with FB. Peace.

    Flybarred Helicopters Fly a lot better in some cases and are better to learn on such as a 450 Flybarred Heli.. The Flybarless has its positive points as well. In my opinion they are for more experienced Pilots who like hard 3D flying.. The Flybarless units have more adjusting points for fine tuning such as a V-BAR or MICROBEAST System.

    I felt like he could have mentioned that the flybar heli tries to stop moving forward once the sticks are let go and the flybarless will keep moving in that direction until a reverse stick input is applied.

    • @BuBuTwo
      @BuBuTwo 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not a specialist, but as I see you get no answer, here is mine: when the heli tilts a bit, the flybar will remain horizontal due to gyroscopic effect. This creates an angle between the heli blades and its flybar. This angle will lead, through the linkage between the flybar and the blades, to a variation of the angle of attack of the blades during the rotation, in the purpose to bring the blades rotation back to horizontal level.

    • @fastball65
      @fastball65 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thanks for your explaining :))

    • @honkhonk8009

      A flybar is kinda like a gyro and influences the pitch of the heli blade the same way a swashplate would

      @12345fowler 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BuBuTwo You can see it as a trim vs a control surface. In fixed wing trim are smaller flyable surfaces used to move a bigger flyable surface. In most case that is only for trim function (hence the name) but there has been aircrafts design where all pilots input goes to the trim and only the trim would in turn move the bigger flyable control surface (MD-80 / DC-9 series)

    I find that they fly funny with a flybar when I bank a turn it's just like a plane rolls nice into the turn very easy acts like a plane with flybarless it seems not so easy to the tail just drags around and flight to me looks sloppy I like to have that control. There are pilots that just fly that way but I just don't like the flybarless system I cant get a feel for it I don't care about parts really a good pilot does not crash and should be able to fix it in his or her sleep. I can swap parts on all my helicopters pretty quick not only that rebuilding is parts of this hobby and building aircraft is it's own reward but to each their own I feel flybarless is for 3D pilots mostly that's where you get the benefit. Maybe it's just me?

    Really...FBL needs computer...flybarred doesn't.
    I'm having both ways...but for the first love...I love flybarred rc helis than FBL system.
    On flybarred you are the brain ...for FBL...then the electronic is the brain...I like manual than the otomatic FBL.
    ALL HAS ++ & -- -- ...JUST FLY WHICH WAYS YOU LIKE :)
